2 Samuel 6
1 Then David chose 30,000 Israeli men and gathered them together.
੧ਫਿਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਚੁਣੇ ਹੋਏ, ਤੀਹ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
2 He led them to the place in Judah [formerly] called Baalah, [now called Kiriath-Jearim]. They went in order to bring from there [to Jerusalem] the sacred chest, which had the name of Yahweh, the leader of the armies of [the angels in] heaven, written on it, and which had the [statues of the] winged creatures on top of it. Between those statues was where Yahweh spoke messages about ruling his people [MTY].
੨ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਆਲੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨ, ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਆਵੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਰੂਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ ਹੈ।
3 The sacred chest was in the house of Abinadab, on top of a hill. They went there, and they put the chest on a new cart. Uzzah and Ahio, the two sons of Abinadab, were guiding [the oxen that were pulling the cart].
੩ਸੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਂ ਬੈਲ ਗੱਡੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਬੀਨਾਦਾਬ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਗਿਬਆਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ, ਚੁੱਕ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਅਬੀਨਾਦਾਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਊਜ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਹਯੋ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਵੀਂ ਗੱਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਕਿਆ।
4 Uzzah walked alongside the cart, and Ahio walked in front of it.
੪ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਬੀਨਾਦਾਬ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਗਿਬਆਹ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਗਏ। ਅਤੇ ਅਹਯੋ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਤੁਰਿਆ।
5 David and all the Israeli men were celebrating in God’s presence, singing with all their strength and [playing] lyres and harps, and beating tambourines, and clashing castanets and cymbals.
੫ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਘਰਾਣਾ ਚੀਲ ਦੀ ਲੱਕੜ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਜੇ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਬੀਨ, ਮੱਧਮ, ਖੰਜ਼ਰੀਆਂ, ਚਿਮਟਾ ਅਤੇ ਛੈਣੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਵਜਾਉਂਦੇ ਗਏ।
6 But when they came to the place where Nacon threshed grain, the oxen stumbled. So Uzzah put his hand on the sacred chest to (steady it/prevent it from falling [off the cart]).
੬ਜਦ ਉਹ ਨਾਕੋਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੜ ਕੋਲ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ, ਤਦ ਊਜ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ।
7 Yahweh immediately became very angry with Uzzah, and he killed him right there alongside the sacred chest, because he had touched the chest, [and Yahweh had commanded that only the descendants of Levi who help the priests should touch the sacred chest].
੭ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਬਲ਼ਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੋਕਰ ਲੱਗੀ ਸੀ, ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਊਜ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭੜਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।
8 David was angry because Yahweh had punished Uzzah. So ever since that time, that place has been called ‘The Punishment of Uzzah’.
੮ਦਾਊਦ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਊਜ਼ਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਣ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਸ-ਊਜ਼ਾਹ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੈ।
9 David was [also] afraid of [what else] Yahweh [would do to punish them], so he said, “(How can I take the sacred chest with me [to Jerusalem]?/I am afraid to take the sacred chest with me [to Jerusalem].)” [RHQ]
੯ਦਾਊਦ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਡਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਲਿਆਵਾਂ?
10 So he did not want to take the sacred chest to Jerusalem. Instead, they took it to another place; they took it to the house of Obed-Edom, from Gath [city].
੧੦ਸੋ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਜੀਅ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਰੱਖੇ, ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਗਿੱਤੀ ਓਬੇਦ-ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ।
11 They left the sacred chest in the house of Obed-Edom for three months, and [during that time] Yahweh blessed Obed-Edom and his family.
੧੧ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਓਬੇਦ-ਅਦੋਮ ਗਿੱਤੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਰਿਹਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਓਬੇਦ-ਅਦੋਮ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਕਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
12 Later, people told David, “Yahweh has blessed Obed-Edom and his family because [he is taking care] of the sacred chest!” When David heard that, he [and some other men] went to Obed-Edom’s house, and very joyfully brought the sacred chest from there to Jerusalem.
੧੨ਦਾਊਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਓਬੇਦ-ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਬਰਕਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਓਬੇਦ-ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਘਰੋਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।
13 [This time, descendants of Levi] were carrying the sacred chest, but when they had walked only six steps, they stopped, and there David killed a bull and a fat calf, and offered them to Yahweh for a sacrifice.
੧੩ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਦੇ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਛੇ ਕਦਮ ਤੁਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਬਲ਼ਦ ਅਤੇ ਪਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੱਛਾ ਭੇਟ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ।
14 David was wearing [only] a linen cloth wrapped around his waist, and was dancing very energetically to honor Yahweh.
੧੪ਦਾਊਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਨੱਚਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਕਤਾਨ ਦਾ ਏਫ਼ੋਦ ਪਹਿਨਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
15 David and the Israeli men took the sacred chest up [to Jerusalem], shouting [loudly] and blowing trumpets.
੧੫ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਘਰਾਣਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਜੈਕਾਰਾ ਬੁਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਰ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਵਜਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਆਏ।
16 While they were carrying the sacred chest into the city, [David’s wife] Michal, who was Saul’s daughter, looked out the window [of her house]. She saw King David leaping and dancing to honor Yahweh. So she was disgusted with him.
੧੬ਜਦੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਮੀਕਲ ਨੇ ਬਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਝਾਤੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਨੱਚਦੇ-ਟੱਪਦੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਤੁੱਛ ਜਾਣਿਆ।
17 They brought the sacred chest into the tent that David had erected for it. Then David gave to Yahweh offerings to be completely burned [on an altar], and other offerings to maintain fellowship with Yahweh.
੧੭ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਓਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੈ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਠੀਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਤੰਬੂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ, ਜੋ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਆਂ।
18 When David had finished offering those sacrifices, he asked Yahweh, the Commander of the armies [of the angels], to bless the people.
੧੮ਜਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
19 He also distributed food to all the people. To each Israeli man and woman he gave a loaf of bread, some meat, and a raisin cake. Then all the people returned to their homes.
੧੯ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਗੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਵੇ ਇਸਰਤੀ, ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਰੋਟੀ, ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਮਾਸ ਦਾ ਟੁੱਕੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਗੀ ਦੀ ਟਿੱਕੀ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਤਦ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋਏ।
20 When David went home to [ask Yahweh to] bless his family, his wife Michal came out to meet him. She said to him, “Maybe you, the king of Israel, [think that you] [IRO] were honoring yourself today, but really, you acted like a fool, uncovering yourself while the female servants of your officials were watching!”
੨੦ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਮੁੜਿਆ। ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਮੀਕਲ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਣ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਕਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲੀ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਅੱਜ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪੀ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਲੁੱਚਾ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਲੱਜ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਨੰਗਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
21 David replied to Michal, “[I was doing that] to honor Yahweh, who chose me instead of your father and other members of his family, to be the king of the Israeli people, the people who belong to Yahweh. And I will [continue to] dance to honor Yahweh!
੨੧ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਮੀਕਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੁਣ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਨੱਚਾਂਗਾ
22 [Even though you think that what I did] was disgraceful, I will continue to do it even more. You may despise me [because of what I did], but the women whom you were talking about will honor me!”
੨੨ਸਗੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਨੀਚ ਬਣਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁੱਛ ਗਿਣਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਤੂੰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਦਰ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ।
23 [As a result, ] Saul’s daughter Michal never gave birth to any children.
੨੩ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੀਕਲ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਨ ਤੱਕ ਕੋਈ ਬੱਚਾ ਨਾ ਜੰਮਿਆ।
