2 Chronicles 29
1 Hezekiah was 25 years old when he became the king [of Judah]. He ruled from Jerusalem for 29 years. His mother was Abijah, the daughter of [a man whose name was] Zechariah.
Hiskia war fünfundzwanzig Jahre alt, als er König ward, und regierte neunundzwanzig Jahre lang zu Jerusalem. Und seine Mutter hieß Abija, eine Tochter Sacharjas.
2 Hezekiah did things that Yahweh considered to be right, like his ancestor King David had done.
Und er tat, was recht war in den Augen des HERRN, ganz wie sein Vater David getan hatte.
3 During March of the first year that Hezekiah was ruling Judah, he unlocked the doors of the temple, and his workers repaired them.
Im ersten Monat des ersten Jahres seiner Regierung öffnete er die Türen am Hause des HERRN und besserte sie aus.
4 Then he gathered the priests and other descendants of Levi in the area on the east side of the temple,
Und er ließ die Priester und Leviten kommen und versammelte sie auf dem Platz gegen Aufgang und sprach zu ihnen:
5 and he said to them, “You descendants of Levi, listen to me! Consecrate yourselves. And then consecrate the temple of Yahweh, the God whom our ancestors [worshiped/belonged to]. Remove from the temple all the things that are not pleasing to God.
Höret mir zu, ihr Leviten! Nunmehr heiliget euch und heiliget das Haus des HERRN, des Gottes eurer Väter, und schaffet den Unflat aus dem Heiligtum heraus!
6 Our ancestors disobeyed God; they did many things that he considered to be evil, things that were not pleasing to him. They abandoned this place where Yahweh lives, and they have turned away from him.
Denn unsre Väter haben sich versündigt und getan, was in den Augen des HERRN, unsres Gottes, böse ist, und haben ihn verlassen; denn sie haben ihr Angesicht von der Wohnung des HERRN abgewandt und ihr den Rücken gekehrt.
7 They locked the doors of the temple and extinguished the lamps. They did not burn any incense, and they did not offer any sacrifices that were to be completely burned [on the altar].
Auch haben sie die Türen der Halle zugeschlossen und die Lampen ausgelöscht und kein Räucherwerk angezündet und dem Gott Israels im Heiligtum kein Brandopfer dargebracht.
8 Therefore, Yahweh has become very angry with us people of Jerusalem and [other places in] Judah, and he has caused other people to become frightened and horrified [when they hear what Yahweh did to punish us]. And they ridicule us. You know this very well.
Daher ist der Zorn des HERRN über Juda und Jerusalem gekommen, und er hat sie der Mißhandlung und Verwüstung preisgegeben, daß man sie auszischt, wie ihr mit euren Augen sehet.
9 That is why our fathers have been killed in battles, and our sons and daughters and our wives have been captured and taken [to other countries].
Denn siehe, um deswillen sind unsre Väter durch das Schwert gefallen und unsre Söhne, unsre Töchter und unsre Weiber gefangen weggeführt worden.
10 But now I intend to make an agreement with Yahweh, our God, in order that he will no longer be angry with us.
Nun habe ich im Sinn, einen Bund zu machen mit dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, damit sein grimmiger Zorn sich von uns wende.
11 [You who are like] my sons, do not waste any time. [Do immediately what Yahweh wants you to do.] Yahweh has chosen you to stand in his presence and offer sacrifices and burn incense.”
Nun, meine Söhne, seid nicht nachlässig; denn euch hat der HERR erwählt, damit ihr vor ihm stehet und ihm dienet und damit ihr seine Diener und Räucherer seid!
12 Then these descendants of Levi started to work [in the temple]: From the descendants of Kohath there were Mahath the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah. From the descendants of Merari there were Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehallelel. From the descendants of Gershon there were Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah.
Da machten sich die Leviten auf: Machat, der Sohn Amasais, und Joel, der Sohn Asarjas, von den Söhnen der Kahatiter; und von den Söhnen Meraris: Kis, der Sohn Abdis, und Asarja, der Sohn Jehallelels; und von den Söhnen der Gersoniter: Joach, der Sohn Simmas, und Eden, der Sohn Joachs;
13 From the descendants of Elizaphan there were Shimri and Jeiel. From the descendants of Asaph there were Zechariah and Mattaniah.
und von den Söhnen Elizaphans: Simri und Jehiel, und von den Söhnen Asaphs: Sacharja und Mattanja;
14 From the descendants of Heman there were Jehiel and Shimei. From the descendants of Jeduthun there were Shemaiah and Uzziel.
und von den Söhnen Hemans; Jechiel und Simei; und von den Söhnen Jedutuns: Semaja und Ussiel.
15 When those men had gathered their fellow descendants of Levi and had consecrated themselves, they entered the temple in order to consecrate it. That was what the king had commanded them to do, and they were also obeying what Yahweh had commanded.
Und sie versammelten ihre Brüder und heiligten sich und gingen hinein nach dem Gebot des Königs und nach den Worten des HERRN, um das Haus des HERRN zu reinigen.
16 The priests entered the temple to consecrate it. They brought out into the courtyard of the temple everything that they had found in the temple that was not pleasing to Yahweh. Then the descendants of Levi took those things down to the Kidron Valley [and burned them there].
Also gingen die Priester hinein in das Innere des Hauses des HERRN, um es zu reinigen, und schafften alles Unreine, das im Tempel des HERRN gefunden ward, hinaus in den Vorhof am Hause des HERRN; und die Leviten nahmen es und trugen es hinaus in den Bach Kidron.
17 The priests and other descendants of Levi started this work on the first day of March and finished purifying the courtyard [of the temple] on the eighth day of that month, and they finished purifying the temple one week later.
Und zwar begannen sie mit der Heiligung am ersten Tage des ersten Monats; und am achten Tage desselben Monats kamen sie in die Halle des HERRN, und sie heiligten das Haus des HERRN acht Tage lang; und am sechzehnten Tag des ersten Monats wurden sie fertig.
18 Then they went to King Hezekiah and reported, “We have purified all parts of the temple, and the altar where sacrifices are completely burned, and all the items used at the altar, the table on which the priests place the sacred bread, and the things [used at that table].
Da gingen sie hinein zum König Hiskia und sprachen: Wir haben das ganze Haus des HERRN gereinigt, den Brandopferaltar und alle seine Geräte; auch den Schaubrottisch und alle seine Geräte;
19 While Ahaz was our king, he disobeyed what Yahweh had commanded, and he removed from the temple many things [that should be there], but now we have brought them back and placed them in front of the sacred altar.”
auch alle Geräte, welche der König Ahas während seiner Regierung entweiht hat, als er sich versündigte, haben wir zurechtgemacht und geheiligt; und siehe, sie sind vor dem Altar des HERRN!
20 Early the next morning, King Hezekiah gathered together the city officials, and they went to the [courtyard of the] temple.
Da machte sich der König Hiskia früh auf und versammelte die Obersten der Stadt und ging hinauf zum Hause des HERRN.
21 They took with them seven bulls, seven rams, seven male lambs, and seven male goats to be an offering in order that Yahweh would forgive the sins of all the people in the kingdom of Judah, and in order to purify the temple. The king commanded that the priests, who were descendants of Aaron, should offer those animals to be sacrificed to Yahweh on the altar.
Und sie brachten sieben Farren, sieben Widder, sieben Lämmer und sieben Ziegenböcke herbei zum Sündopfer für das Königreich, für das Heiligtum und für Juda. Und er befahl den Söhnen Aarons, den Priestern, [sie] auf dem Altar des HERRN zu opfern.
22 So first the priests slaughtered those bulls, and took their blood and sprinkled it on the altar. Then they slaughtered the rams and sprinkled their blood on the altar. Then they slaughtered the lambs and sprinkled their blood on the altar.
Da schächteten sie die Rinder, und die Priester nahmen das Blut und sprengten es an den Altar; und sie schächteten die Widder und sprengten das Blut an den Altar; und sie schächteten die Lämmer und sprengten das Blut an den Altar.
23 The goats that were slaughtered to be an offering in order that Yahweh would forgive the sins of the people were brought to the king and the others who were there. Then the king and those who were present laid their hands on those goats.
Und sie brachten die Böcke zum Sündopfer für den König und die Gemeinde und stützten ihre Hände auf sie.
24 Then the priests slaughtered those goats and splashed their blood on the altar in order that Yahweh would forgive the sins that all the Israeli people had committed. The priests did that because the king had commanded that offerings that would be completely burned [on the altar] and other sacrifices should be made for all the people of Israel.
Und die Priester schächteten sie und brachten ihr Blut zur Entsündigung auf den Altar, um für ganz Israel Sühne zu erwirken; denn für ganz Israel hatte der König Brandopfer und Sündopfer befohlen.
25 The king then told the descendants of Levi to stand in the temple with their cymbals and harps and lyres, obeying what David and his prophets Gad and Nathan had commanded. Those were things that Yahweh had told his prophets that the descendants of Levi should do.
Er ließ auch die Leviten sich im Hause des HERRN aufstellen mit Zimbeln, Psaltern und Harfen, wie David und Gad, der Seher des Königs, und der Prophet Natan befohlen hatten; denn es war des HERRN Gebot durch seine Propheten.
26 So the descendants of Levi [went and] stood in the temple, ready to play the musical instruments that King David had given to them. And the priests were ready to blow their trumpets.
Und die Leviten stellten sich auf mit den Musikinstrumenten Davids und die Priester mit den Trompeten.
27 Then Hezekiah told some of the priests to burn the animals that would be sacrificed on the altar. When they started to burn the animals, the people started to sing to [praise] Yahweh, while the other descendants of Levi were playing their instruments.
Und Hiskia befahl, das Brandopfer auf dem Altar zu opfern. Und als das Brandopfer begann, fing auch der Gesang zu Ehren des HERRN an und das Spiel der Trompeten, unter der Führung der Musikinstrumente Davids, des Königs von Israel.
28 All the people who were there bowed to worship Yahweh, while the singers sang and the trumpeters blew their trumpets. They continued to do this until they had finished slaughtering all the animals that would be completely burned.
Und die ganze Gemeinde betete an; und die Sänger sangen, und die Trompeter schmetterten so lange, bis das Brandopfer vollendet war.
29 When they finished making those offerings, the king and all those who were there knelt down and worshiped Yahweh.
Als nun das Brandopfer vollendet war, kniete der König nieder samt allen, die sich bei ihm befanden, und sie beteten an.
30 Then King Hezekiah and his officials commanded the descendants of Levi to praise Yahweh, singing the songs [composed/written] by David and Asaph the prophet. So they sang songs joyfully and bowed their heads to worship.
Und der König Hiskia und die Obersten geboten den Leviten, den HERRN zu loben mit den Worten Davids und Asaphs, des Sehers. Und sie lobten mit Freuden und verneigten sich und beteten an.
31 Then Hezekiah said, “You have now dedicated yourselves to Yahweh. So come close to the temple and bring animals to be sacrificed and other offerings to thank [Yahweh for what he has done for you].” And those who wanted to bring animals to be completely burned [on the altar] brought them.
Und Hiskia hob an und sprach: Nun habt ihr eure Hände dem HERRN gefüllt. Tretet herzu und bringet die Schlachtopfer und Lobopfer zum Hause des HERRN! Da brachte die Gemeinde Schlachtopfer und Lobopfer, und alle, die willigen Herzens waren, brachten Brandopfer.
32 Altogether they brought 70 bulls, 100 rams, and 200 male lambs to be completely burned on the altar.
Und die Zahl der Brandopfer, welche die Gemeinde herzubrachte, betrug siebzig Rinder, hundert Widder und zweihundert Lämmer; solches alles dem HERRN zum Brandopfer.
33 The other animals that they brought were 600 bulls and 3,000 sheep and goats that were set apart to be sacrifices.
Zudem heiligten sie sechshundert Rinder und dreitausend Schafe.
34 But there were not enough priests to remove the skins from the animals that would be completely burned [on the altar]. So their fellow descendants of Levi helped them until that work was finished, and until other priests had purified/consecrated themselves to do that work. It was necessary for them to do that because many of the priests had not yet performed the rituals to consecrate themselves for that work, like the descendants of Levi had done.
Nur waren der Priester zu wenige, so daß sie nicht allen Brandopfern die Haut abziehen konnten; darum halfen ihnen ihre Brüder, die Leviten, bis das Werk vollendet war, und bis sich die Priester geheiligt hatten; denn die Leviten waren ernstlicher darauf bedacht, sich zu heiligen, als die Priester.
35 In addition to the all the offerings that were completely burned [on the altar], the priests also burned the fat of the other animals that were sacrificed to maintain good fellowship with Yahweh, and the usual wine offerings. So the worship at the temple began again.
Es waren aber auch Brandopfer in Menge darzubringen, samt dem Fett der Dankopfer und den Trankopfern zu den Brandopfern. So ward der Dienst im Hause des HERRN wiederhergestellt.
36 And Hezekiah and all the other people of Judah celebrated, because God had enabled them to do all those things very quickly.
Und Hiskia freute sich samt dem ganzen Volke über das, was Gott dem Volk zubereitet hatte; denn die Sache war sehr rasch vor sich gegangen.
