1 Samuel 3
1 [While he was still a] boy, Samuel was working for Yahweh while Eli supervised him. At that time there were very few messages [that anyone received] from Yahweh, and very few people saw visions [that Yahweh gave them].
౧బాల సమూయేలు ఏలీ సమక్షంలో యెహోవాకు పరిచర్య చేస్తున్నాడు. ఆ రోజుల్లో యెహోవా స్వరం వినబడడం చాలా అరుదు. ఆయన ప్రత్యక్షం కావడం తరుచుగా జరిగేది కాదు.
2 By that time Eli’s eyes were very weak; he was almost blind. [One night] he was sleeping in his room,
౨ఆ సమయంలో ఏలీ కంటి చూపు మందగించినందువల్ల అతడు ఏమీ చూడలేని స్థితిలో తన మంచంపై పండుకుని ఉన్నాడు.
3 and Samuel was sleeping in the sacred tent, where the chest that contained the Ten Commandments was kept. While the sacred lamp was still burning,
౩దేవుని మందసం ఉన్న యెహోవా మందిరంలోని దీపం అర్పివేయక ముందే, సమూయేలు నిద్రపోతూ ఉన్నాడు.
4 Yahweh called, “Samuel! Samuel!” Samuel replied, “I’m here!”
౪అప్పుడు యెహోవా సమూయేలును పిలిచాడు. అతడు “అయ్యగారూ, నేనిక్కడే ఉన్నాను” అన్నాడు.
5 Then he [got up and] ran to Eli. He said to him, “I am here, because you called me!” But Eli replied, “No, I did not call you. Go back to your bed.” So Samuel went and lay down again.
౫ఏలీ దగ్గరికి పరిగెత్తుకు వెళ్లి “నన్ను పిలిచావు గదా, వచ్చాను” అన్నాడు. ఏలీ “నేను పిలవలేదు, వెళ్ళి నిద్రపో” అన్నాడు. అతడు వెళ్ళి నిద్రపోయడు.
6 Then Yahweh called again, “Samuel!” So Samuel got up again and went to Eli and said, “I am here, because you called me!” But Eli said, “No, my son, I did not call you. Go back and lie down.”
౬యెహోవా రెండవసారి సమూయేలును పిలిచాడు. సమూయేలు లేచి ఏలీ దగ్గరికి వెళ్లి “అయ్యగారూ, నువ్వు పిలిచావని వచ్చాను” అన్నాడు. అందుకు అతడు “బాబూ, నేను పిలవలేదు, వెళ్ళి నిద్రపో” అని చెప్పాడు.
7 At that time Samuel did not yet know [that] Yahweh [could speak to him], because Yahweh had not previously revealed anything to him.
౭అప్పటివరకూ సమూయేలు యెహోవా ప్రత్యక్షత పొందలేదు, యెహోవా మాట అతడికి ఇంకా వెల్లడి కాలేదు.
8 [After Samuel lay down again], Yahweh called him a third time. So again Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “I am here, because you called me!” Then Eli realized that it was Yahweh who was calling the boy.
౮యెహోవా మూడవసారి సమూయేలును పిలవగా అతడు లేచి ఏలీ దగ్గరకి వెళ్ళి “అయ్యగారూ, నువ్వు నన్ను పిలిచావు గదా, ఇదిగో వచ్చాను” అన్నప్పుడు, యెహోవాయే అతణ్ణి పిలిచాడని ఏలీ గ్రహించాడు.
9 So he said to Samuel, “Go and lie down again. If someone calls you again, say ‘Speak to me, Yahweh, because I am listening!’” So Samuel went and lay down again.
౯అతడు “నువ్వు వెళ్ళి పడుకో. ఎవరైనా నిన్ను పిలిస్తే, ‘యెహోవా, నీ దాసుడు వింటున్నాడు, ఏమి చేయాలో చెప్పండి’ అని చెప్పు” అని సమూయేలుతో చెప్పాడు. సమూయేలు వెళ్ళి తన స్థలంలో పండుకున్నాడు.
10 Then Yahweh came and stood there and called as he had done the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak to me, because I am listening!”
౧౦తరువాత యెహోవా ప్రత్యక్షమై నిలబడి అదే విధంగా “సమూయేలూ సమూయేలూ” అని పిలిచినప్పుడు సమూయేలు “నీ దాసుడు వింటున్నాడు, ఏమిటో చెప్పండి” అన్నాడు.
11 Then Yahweh said to Samuel, “Listen carefully. I am about to do something here in Israel that will shock/horrify [IDM] everyone who hears about it.
౧౧అప్పుడు యెహోవా సమూయేలుతో ఇలా చెప్పాడు. “ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజల మధ్య నేనొక పని చేయబోతున్నాను. దాన్ని గురించి తెలుసుకున్నవారి చెవులు హోరెత్తుతాయి.
12 When that happens, I will punish Eli and his family. I will do to them everything that I said that I would do.
౧౨ఆ రోజున ఏలీ కుటుంబం వారిని గురించి నేను చెప్పినదంతా వారి పైకి రప్పిస్తాను. నేనే దాన్ని చేయడం మొదలుపెట్టి ముగిస్తాను.
13 His sons have shown great disrespect for me by the disgraceful things they have done, and Eli did not restrain them. So I told him that I would punish his family forever.
౧౩తన కొడుకులు తమను తాము శాపగ్రస్తులుగా చేసుకొంటున్నారని తెలిసి కూడా ఏలీ వారిని అడ్డగించలేదు కాబట్టి అతని కుటుంబానికి శాశ్వత శిక్ష విధిస్తానని నేను అతనికి తెలియజేస్తున్నాను.
14 I solemnly promised to Eli’s family, ‘You will never be able to avoid the consequences for your sin, even if you give me sacrifices or offerings.’”
౧౪కాబట్టి ఏలీ కుటుంబం వారి దోషానికి బలిమూలంగా గానీ, అర్పణ మూలంగా గానీ ఎప్పటికీ క్షమాపణ ఉండదు అని శపథం చేశాను.”
15 Samuel lay down again until morning. Then he got up and opened the doors of the Sacred Tent [as usual]. He was afraid to tell Eli about the vision [that Yahweh had given him].
౧౫తరువాత సమూయేలు తెల్లవారేదాకా పండుకుని, లేచి యెహోవా ఆలయం తలుపులు తీశాడు గానీ భయం వేసి తనకు వచ్చిన దర్శనం విషయం ఏలీతో చెప్పలేకపోయాడు.
16 But Eli called him and said, “Samuel, my son!” Samuel answered, “I am here!”
౧౬అయితే ఏలీ “సమూయేలూ, కుమారా” అని సమూయేలును పిలిచాడు. అతడు “చిత్తం, నేనిక్కడ ఉన్నాను” అన్నాడు.
17 Eli asked him, “What was it that Yahweh told you? Do not conceal it! I want God to punish you severely if you do not tell me everything that he said to you.”
౧౭ఏలీ “నీకు యెహోవా ఏమి చెప్పాడో దాచకుండా దయచేసి నాతో చెప్పు. ఆయన నీతో చెప్పిన విషయాల్లో ఏదైనా చెప్పకుండా దాచిపెడితే దానికంటే ఎక్కువ ప్రమాదం ఆయన నీకు కలుగజేస్తాడు గాక” అనగా,
18 So Samuel told him everything. He did not refuse to tell him anything. Then Eli said, “He is Yahweh. I am willing for him to do what he thinks is best.”
౧౮సమూయేలు దేనినీ దాచకుండా విషయం అంతా అతనికి తెలియజేశాడు. అది విని ఏలీ “చెప్పినవాడు యెహోవా. ఆయన దృష్ఠికి ఏది అనుకూలమో దాన్ని ఆయన చేస్తాడు గాక” అన్నాడు.
19 As Samuel grew up, Yahweh helped him, and caused everything to (come true/happen) that Samuel predicted.
౧౯సమూయేలు పెరిగి పెద్దవాడు అవుతున్నప్పుడు యెహోవా అతనికి తోడుగా ఉన్నందువల్ల దేవుని మాటల్లో ఏదీ తప్పిపోలేదు.
20 So all the people of Israel, from the northern end of the country to the southern end, realized that Samuel was truly a prophet of Yahweh.
౨౦కాబట్టి సమూయేలు యెహోవాకు ప్రవక్తగా స్థిరపడ్డాడని దాను ప్రాంతం నుండి బెయేర్షెబా వరకూ ఇశ్రాయేలీయులంతా తెలుసుకున్నారు.
21 Yahweh continued to appear to Samuel in Shiloh and give messages to him.
౨౧షిలోహులో యెహోవా మళ్ళీ దర్శనమిస్తూ వచ్చాడు. షిలోహులో యెహోవా తన వాక్కు ద్వారా తనను సమూయేలుకు ప్రత్యక్ష పరచుకుంటూ వచ్చాడు. సమూయేలు ద్వారా దేవుని వాక్కు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు వెల్లడి అయింది.
