1 Samuel 26
1 One day [some of] the people of Ziph [town] went to Saul while he was at Gibeah, and they said to him, “David is hiding in a cave on Hakilah hill, across from Jeshimon [town].”
அதன்பின் சீப்பூரார் கிபியாவிலிருந்த சவுலிடம் வந்து, “தாவீது எஷிமோனுக்கு எதிர்ப்பக்கமுள்ள ஆகிலா குன்றில் ஒளித்திருக்கிறான் அல்லவா” என்றார்கள்.
2 So Saul chose 3,000 of the best Israeli soldiers and went with them to Ziph Desert to search for David.
எனவே சவுல் இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களுள் தெரிந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட மூவாயிரம் மனிதருடன் தாவீதைத் தேடும்படி சீப் பாலைவனத்துக்குப் போனான்.
3 Saul and his men set up their tents close to the road on Hakilah hill, east of Jeshimon [town], but David [and his men] stayed in the desert. When David heard that Saul was searching for him,
சவுல் எஷிமோனுக்கு எதிரேயுள்ள வழியில் ஆகிலா குன்றின் மேலுள்ள வீதியருகே முகாமிட்டிருந்தான். ஆனால் தாவீதோ பாலைவனத்தில் தங்கினான். சவுல் தன்னை அங்கேயும் பின்தொடர்கிறான் எனக் கண்டபோது,
4 he sent some spies to find out for certain that Saul had come to Hakilah.
தாவீது உளவாளிகளை வெளியே அனுப்பிச் சவுல் வந்திருப்பதை உறுதிப்படுத்திக் கொண்டான்.
5 Then [that evening] David went to the place where Saul had set up his tent. [From a distance] he saw where Saul and his army commander, Abner, were sleeping. Saul was sleeping with all his army [sleeping] around him.
பின்பு தாவீது புறப்பட்டு, சவுல் முகாமிட்டிருந்த இடத்திற்குப் போனான். அவன் சவுலும், நேரின் மகன் படைத்தளபதி அப்னேரும் படுத்திருந்த இடத்தைக் கண்டான். அங்கே சவுல் முகாமுக்குள்ளே போர்வீரருக்கு மத்தியில் படுத்திருந்தான்.
6 David [went back to where his men were and] talked to Ahimelech, who was from the Heth people-group, and Joab’s brother Abishai, whose mother was [David’s older sister] Zeruiah. He asked them, “Who will go with me down into the camp where Saul is?” Abishai replied, “I will go with you.”
அப்பொழுது தாவீது ஏத்தியனான அகிமெலேக்கிடமும், செருயாவின் மகன் யோவாபின் சகோதரன் அபியாசிடமும், “என்னோடுகூட சவுலின் முகாமுக்கு இறங்கி வருகிறவன் யார்?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு அபிசாய், “நான் உம்மோடுகூட வருவேன்” என்றான்.
7 So that night David and Abishai crept into Saul’s camp. They saw that Saul was asleep. His spear was stuck in the ground near his head. Saul was asleep in the middle of the camp. Abner [the army commander] and the other soldiers were sleeping around Saul.
எனவே தாவீதும் அபிசாயும் அன்றிரவு அங்கே போனார்கள். அங்கே முகாமுக்குள் சவுல் நித்திரையாயிருப்பதைக் கண்டார்கள். அவனுடைய தலைமாட்டில் நிலத்தில் அவனுடைய ஈட்டி குத்தி வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. அப்னேரும் மற்ற வீரரும் சவுலைச் சுற்றிலும் படுத்திருந்தார்கள்.
8 Abishai whispered to David, “Today Yahweh has enabled us to kill your enemy! Allow me to fasten Saul to the ground [by thrusting] my spear into him. It will be necessary for me to strike him only once. I will not [need to] strike him twice.”
அப்பொழுது அபிசாய் தாவீதிடம், “இன்று இறைவன் உமது பகைவனை உம்முடைய கைகளில் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். இப்பொழுது நான் ஈட்டியால் ஒரே குத்தாக நிலத்துடன் சேர்த்துக் குத்துவதற்கு எனக்கு அனுமதிகொடும். நான் அவனை இருமுறை குத்தமாட்டேன்” என்றான்.
9 But David whispered to Abishai, “No, do not kill Saul. Yahweh has appointed him to be king, so Yahweh will surely [RHQ] punish anyone who kills him.
அதற்கு தாவீது அபிசாயிடம், “அவரை அழிக்கவேண்டாம்; யெகோவாவினால் அபிஷேகம் செய்யப்பட்டவர்மேல் கையை ஓங்கி, குற்றமற்றவனாய் யாரால் இருக்கமுடியும்?
10 Just as surely as Yahweh lives, he himself will punish Saul. Perhaps Yahweh will strike him when it is Saul’s time to die, or perhaps Saul will be killed in a battle.
மேலும் தாவீது, யெகோவா இருப்பது நிச்சயமெனில், யெகோவாவே அவரை அடிப்பார், அல்லது அவருடைய காலம் வரும்போது அவர் சாவார், அல்லது யுத்தத்தில் அழிவார் என்பதும் நிச்சயம்.
11 But I hope/desire that Yahweh will prevent me from harming the king whom he has appointed. Let’s take Saul’s spear and water jug that are near his head. Then let’s get out of here!”
ஆனால் யெகோவாவினால் அபிஷேகம் செய்யப்பட்டவர்மேல் என் கை ஓங்குவதை யெகோவா தடைசெய்வாராக. இப்பொழுது நாம் அவருடைய தலையருகிலுள்ள ஈட்டியையும், தண்ணீர்க் குடுவையையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போவோம்” என்றான்.
12 So David took the spear and the jug, and he and Abishai left. No one saw them or knew what they were doing, and no one woke up, because Yahweh had caused them to be sound asleep.
அவ்வாறே தாவீது சவுலின் ஈட்டியையும், தலையருகிலிருந்த தண்ணீர்க் குடுவையையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய் விட்டார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்கள் அவற்றை எடுத்ததை யாரும் காணவோ, அறியவோ இல்லை. ஒருவரும் விழித்தெழவும் இல்லை. ஏனெனில் யெகோவா அவர்களுக்கு ஆழ்ந்த நித்திரையை வரச்செய்திருந்ததால், அவர்களெல்லோரும் தூங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
13 David and Abishai went across the valley and climbed to the top of the hill, a long way from Saul’s camp.
தாவீதோ மறுபக்கத்துக்குக் கடந்து போய்ச் சிறிது தூரத்திலுள்ள குன்றின்மேல் நின்றான். அவர்களுக்கிடையில் அகன்ற இடைவெளி இருந்தது.
14 Then David shouted to Abner, “Abner, can you hear me?” Abner [woke up and] replied “Who are you, [waking up] the king by calling out to him?”
அப்பொழுது தாவீது படையினரையும், நேரின் மகன் அப்னேரையும் கூப்பிட்டு, “அப்னேரே! நீ எனக்குப் பதில்கூற மாட்டாயா?” என்றான். அதற்கு அப்னேர், “அரசனைக் கூப்பிடும் நீ யார்?” என்றான்.
15 David replied, “[I am sure that] you are the greatest man in Israel [IRO, RHQ]! So why did you not guard your master, the king? Someone came into your camp in order to kill your master, the king.
அதற்குத் தாவீது, “நீ ஒரு ஆண்மகன் அல்லவா? இஸ்ரயேலில் உன்னைப்போல் யார் இருக்கிறார்கள்? நீ ஏன் உன் தலைவனாகிய அரசனைக் காவல் காக்காமல். அரசனாகிய உன் தலைவனைக் கொல்வதற்கு ஒருவன் வந்தானே.
16 You have done a very poor [job of guarding Saul]. So just as surely as Yahweh lives, you and your men should be executed! You have not guarded your master whom Yahweh appointed to be the king. Where are the king’s spear and the water jug that were close to his head?”
நீ செய்தது நல்லதல்ல. யெகோவா இருப்பது நிச்சயமெனில், நீயும் உன்னோடிருக்கும் மனிதர்களும் சாவதற்குத் தகுந்தவர்கள் என்பதும் நிச்சயம். ஏனெனில் யெகோவாவினால் அபிஷேகம் செய்யப்பட்ட உங்கள் தலைவனை நீங்கள் பாதுகாக்கத் தவறிவிட்டீர்கள். சுற்றிப்பாருங்கள். அரசனின் தலைமாட்டிலிருந்த ஈட்டியும், தண்ணீர்க் குடுவையும் எங்கே?” என்றான்.
17 [The shouting woke] Saul [up and he] recognized that it was David’s voice. He called out, saying, “My son David, is that your voice?” David replied, “Yes, your majesty it is my voice.”
அப்பொழுது சவுல் தாவீதின் குரலைக் கேட்டு இனங்கண்டு, “என் மகனே, தாவீதே! இது உன் குரல்தானா?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்குத் தாவீது, “ஆம் என் தலைவனே, அரசே!” என்றான்.
18 Then David added, “Sir, why are you pursuing me [RHQ]? What wrong have I done [RHQ]?
மேலும் அவன், “என் தலைவன் உம்முடைய அடியவனைப் பின்தொடர்வது ஏன்? நான் என்ன செய்தேன்? நான் குற்றவாளியாகும்படி நான் செய்த பிழை என்ன?
19 Your majesty, listen to me! If Yahweh has caused you to be angry with me, I should offer a sacrifice [in order to appease him]. But if it is people who have caused you to be angry with me, I hope/desire that Yahweh will curse them. They have forced me to leave the land that Yahweh gave to me. They have told me, ‘Go somewhere else and worship other gods!’
இப்பொழுதும் என் தலைவனான அரசே! உமது ஊழியன் சொல்வதைக் கேளும். யெகோவா உம்மை எனக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தூண்டிவிட்டிருந்தால், அவர் ஒரு காணிக்கையை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வாராக. ஆயினும் இதை மனிதர்கள் செய்திருந்தால், யெகோவா முன்னிலையில் அவர்கள் சபிக்கப்படுவார்களாக. ஏனெனில் இன்று அவர்கள் என்னை யெகோவாவின் உரிமைச்சொத்தில் எனக்குள்ள பங்கிலிருந்து துரத்திவிட்டு, ‘நீ போய் அந்நிய தெய்வங்களை வழிபடு’ என்று சொன்னார்கள்.
20 Now do not force me to die [MTY] far from [where we worship] Yahweh. You, the king of Israel, have come here searching for me. [But I do not want to harm you]! I am [as harmless as] a flea [MET]. You are searching for me like people hunt for a bird in the mountains! [MET]”
எனவே இப்பொழுதும் யெகோவாவின் முன்னிருந்து தூரமான இந்த இடத்தில் என்னுடைய இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்தவேண்டாம். மலையில் கவுதாரியை ஒருவன் வேட்டையாடுவதுபோல் இஸ்ரயேலின் அரசன் ஒரு தெள்ளுப்பூச்சியைத் தேடி வந்திருக்கிறாரே” என்றான்.
21 Then Saul said, “David, my son. I have sinned [by trying to kill you]. So come back home. Today you have considered my life to be very valuable [and so you have not killed me]. So I will not try to harm you. I have made a big mistake and have acted foolishly.”
அதற்குச் சவுல், “நான் பாவம் செய்தேன். தாவீதே, என் மகனே! திரும்பி வா. நீ இன்று என் உயிரை அருமையாய் மதித்தபடியால், நான் இனி ஒருபோதும் உனக்கு ஒரு தீங்கும் செய்ய முற்படமாட்டேன். நிச்சயமாய் நான் மூடனைப்போல் நடந்து, பெரும் பிழை செய்துவிட்டேன்” என்றான்.
22 David replied, [“will leave] your spear here. Send one of your young men here to get it.
அப்பொழுது தாவீது, “இதோ அரசனின் ஈட்டி இருக்கிறது; அரசனின் வாலிபர்களில் ஒருவன் வந்து அதை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளட்டும்.
23 Yahweh rewards us for the things that we do that are right and for being loyal [to him]. Even when Yahweh placed me where I could easily have killed you, I refused to do that, because you are the one whom Yahweh has appointed [MTY] to be the king.
யெகோவா ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனுடைய நேர்மைக்கும், உண்மைத் தன்மைக்கும் தக்கதாய் ஒவ்வொருவனுக்கும் பலனளிப்பார். யெகோவா உம்மை இன்று என் கையில் கொடுத்தார். ஆனாலும் யெகோவா அபிஷேகம் செய்தவர்மேல் என் கையை நான் ஓங்கவில்லை.
24 Just like I considered your life to be valuable [and spared your life] today, I hope/desire that Yahweh will consider my life to be valuable and [spare my life and] save me from all my troubles.”
இன்று நான் உம்முடைய உயிரை மதித்தது நிச்சயம்போலவே, யெகோவா என் உயிரை மதித்து, என்னை எல்லாத் துன்பத்திலிருந்தும் விடுவிப்பதும் நிச்சயமாயிருப்பதாக” என்றான்.
25 Then Saul said to David, “My son David, I pray that Yahweh will bless you. You will do great things very successfully.” Then David returned to his men, and Saul went back home.
அப்பொழுது சவுல் தாவீதிடம், “தாவீதே, என் மகனே, நீ ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுவாயாக. நீ பெரிய செயல்களைச் செய்து நிச்சயமாய் வெற்றியடைவாய்” என்றான். ஆகவே தாவீது தன் வழியே போனான். சவுலும் தன் வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போனான்.
