1 Kings 17
1 Elijah was [a prophet] who lived in Tishbe [town] in [the] Gilead [region]. One day he [went to] King Ahab and said to him, “Yahweh is the God whom we Israelis [worship] and the God whom I worship and serve. Just as certainly as Yahweh lives, there will be no dew or rain for the next few years, if I do not command rain to fall!”
၁ဂိလဒ်ပြည်တိရှဘိမြို့သားဧလိယဆိုသူ ပရောဖက်က အာဟပ်မင်းအား``မိုးရွာမည်ဟု ငါမပြောမချင်းလာမည့်နှစ်နှစ်သုံးနှစ်တွင် မိုးခေါင်လိမ့်မည်။ ဆီးနှင်းလည်းကျလိမ့်မည် မဟုတ်ကြောင်း ငါကိုးကွယ်၍အသက်ရှင်တော် မူသောဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့၏ဘုရားသခင်ထာဝရဘုရားကိုတိုင်တည်၍သင့် အားငါဆို၏'' ဟုဆင့်ဆိုလေသည်။
2 Then Yahweh said to Elijah,
၂ထိုနောက်ထာဝရဘုရားသည်ဧလိယအား၊-
3 “[Because you have made the king angry with you, escape from the king and, ] go to the east, to the Kerith Brook, east of where it flows into the Jordan [River].
၃``ဤမြို့မှထွက်ခွာကာအရှေ့အရပ်သို့သွား ပြီးလျှင် ယော်ဒန်မြစ်အရှေ့ဘက်ရှိခေရိတ် ချောင်းအနီးတွင်ပုန်းအောင်းလော့။-
4 You will be able to drink water from the brook, and [you will be able to eat what] the crows [bring to you, because] I have commanded them to bring food to you.”
၄သင်သည်ထိုချောင်းမှသောက်ရေကိုရလိမ့်မည်။ သင်ရှိရာသို့အစားအစာယူဆောင်လာရန် ကျီးအတို့ကိုလည်းငါမှာထားပြီးဖြစ်သည်'' ဟုမိန့်တော်မူ၏။
5 So Elijah did what Yahweh commanded him to do. He went and camped alongside Kerith Brook.
၅ဧလိယသည် ထာဝရဘုရား၏အမိန့်တော် ကိုနာခံလျက်ခေရိတ်ချောင်းသို့သွားရောက် နေထိုင်လေသည်။-
6 Crows bought bread and meat to him every morning and every evening, and he drank [water] from the brook.
၆သူသည်ချောင်းရေကိုသောက်၏။ ကျီးအတို့ သည်သူစားရန်မုန့်နှင့်အမဲသားကို နေ့စဉ် နေ့တိုင်းနံနက်၌တစ်ကြိမ်ညနေ၌တစ်ကြိမ် ယူဆောင်လာ၏။-
7 But after a while, the water in the brook dried up, because rain did not fall anywhere in the land.
၇ကာလအတန်ကြာသောအခါမိုးခေါင်သဖြင့် ချောင်းရေသည်ခန်းခြောက်လေ၏။
8 Then Yahweh said to Elijah,
၈ထိုအခါထာဝရဘုရားကဧလိယအား၊-
9 “Go and live in Zarephath [village], near Sidon [city]. There is a widow there who will give you food to eat. I have [already] told her what to do about that.”
၉``ယခုသင်သည်ဇိဒုန်မြို့အနီးရှိဇရတ္တမြို့ သို့သွား၍နေထိုင်လော့။ ထိုမြို့သူမုဆိုးမ တစ်ယောက်အား သင့်ကိုကျွေးမွေးရန်ငါမှာ ကြားထားပြီ'' ဟုမိန့်တော်မူ၏။-
10 So [Elijah did what God said]. He went to Zarephath. As he arrived at the gates of the village, he saw a widow who was gathering sticks. He said to her, “Would you please bring me a cup of water?”
၁၀သို့ဖြစ်၍ဧလိယသည်ဇရတ္တမြို့သို့သွား လေသည်။ သူသည်မြို့တံခါးဝသို့ရောက်သော အခါ ထင်းခွေနေသောမုဆိုးမတစ်ယောက်ကို တွေ့သဖြင့်``ငါ့အားသောက်ရေတစ်ပေါက် လောက်ပေးပါ'' ဟုပြော၏။-
11 While she was going to get it, he called out to her, “Bring me a piece of bread, too!”
၁၁မုဆိုးမသည်ရေခပ်ရန်ထွက်သွားသောအခါ ဧလိယက``ငါ့အတွက်မုန့်အနည်းငယ်ကို လည်းယူလာခဲ့ပါ'' ဟုဟစ်အော်၍ပြော၏။
12 But she replied, “Your God knows that what I am telling you is true: I do not have even one piece of bread in my house. I have only a handful of flour in a jar, and a little [olive] oil in a jug. I was gathering a few sticks to use these to [make a fire and] cook one more meal, and then after my son and I eat that, we will die [from hunger].”
၁၂မုဆိုးမက``ကျွန်မမှာမုန့်တစ်ချပ်မျှမရှိ ကြောင်း အသက်ရှင်တော်မူသောသင်၏ဘုရားသခင်ကိုတိုင်တည်၍ကျိန်ဆိုပါ၏။ မုန့်ခွက် ထဲတွင်မုန့်ညက်လက်တစ်ဆုပ်စာနှင့်ဆီဘူး တွင် သံလွင်ဆီအနည်းငယ်မျှသာကျွန်မမှာ ရှိပါ၏။ ဤရှိစုမဲ့စုကလေးဖြင့်ကျွန်မ နှင့်သားငယ်အတွက်မုန့်လုပ်၍မီးဖုတ်စား နိုင်ရန် ဤနေရာသို့လာ၍ထင်းအနည်းငယ် ခွေနေခြင်းဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ထိုမုန့်သည်ကျွန်မ တို့နောက်ဆုံးစားကြရမည့်အစားအစာပင် ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ထို့နောက်ကျွန်မတို့သည်အစာ ငတ်၍သေကြရန်ပင်ဖြစ်ပါသည်'' ဟုပြန် ပြောလေ၏။
13 But Elijah said to her, “Do not be worried! Go home and do what you said that you were going to do. But first, bake me a little loaf of bread and bring it to me. After you do that, take what is left and prepare some food for you and your son.
၁၃ဧလိယကလည်း``မစိုးရိမ်နှင့်။ သင်တို့စားရန် အစားအစာကိုသာသွား၍ပြင်ဆင်ပါလော့။ သို့ရာတွင်ဦးစွာပထမငါ၏အတွက်မုန့် ပြားတစ်ချပ်ကိုလုပ်၍ယူခဲ့လော့။ နောက်မှ ကျန်ရှိသောမုန့်ညက်ဖြင့်သင်တို့သားအမိ အတွက်မုန့်ကိုလုပ်ပါလော့။-
14 [I know that you will be able to do that, ] because Yahweh, the God whom we Israelis [worship], says this: ‘There will always be plenty of flour and [olive] oil left in your containers, until the time when I send rain again [and the crops grow again]!’”
၁၄အဘယ်ကြောင့်ဆိုသော်ဣသရေလအမျိုး သားတို့၏ဘုရားသခင်ထာဝရဘုရားက`ငါ ထာဝရဘုရားသည်မိုးကိုမရွာစေမီကာလ အတွင်း မုန့်ခွက်တွင်မုန့်ပြတ်ရလိမ့်မည်မဟုတ်။ ဆီဘူးတွင်လည်းဆီပြတ်ရလိမ့်မည်မဟုတ်' ဟုမိန့်တော်မူသောကြောင့်ဖြစ်သည်'' ဟု မုဆိုးမအားပြောလေ၏။
15 So the woman did exactly what Elijah told her to do. And she and her son and Elijah had enough food every day,
၁၅မုဆိုးမသည်ဧလိယပြောသည့်အတိုင်းပြု သဖြင့် သူတို့အားလုံးပင်ရက်ပေါင်းများစွာ စားရန်အတွက် အစားအစာကိုအလုံ အလောက်ရရှိကြလေသည်။-
16 because the flour in the jar was never finished, and the jug of oil was never empty. That happened just like Yahweh had told Elijah that it would happen.
၁၆ဧလိယအားဖြင့်ထာဝရဘုရားကတိ ပေးတော်မူခဲ့သည့်အတိုင်း မုန့်ခွက်တွင်မုန့် ညက်မပြတ်။ ဆီဘူးတွင်လည်းဆီမပြတ်။
17 Some time later, the woman’s son became sick. He continued to get worse, and finally he died.
၁၇ကာလအနည်းငယ်ကြာသောအခါ မုဆိုးမ ၏သားသည်ဖျားနာ၍ သူ၏ရောဂါအခြေ အနေမှာဆိုးသည်ထက်ဆိုး၍လာပြီးလျှင် နောက်ဆုံး၌သူငယ်သည်သေဆုံးသွားတော့ ၏။-
18 So the woman went to Elijah and said to him, “You are a prophet; so why have you done this to me? Have you come here to punish me for my sins by causing my son to die?”
၁၈မုဆိုးမသည်ဧလိယအား``အို ထာဝရဘုရား ၏အစေခံ၊ အရှင်သည်အဘယ်ကြောင့်ကျွန်မ အားဤသို့ဒုက္ခရောက်စေပါသနည်း။ အရှင် သည်ကျွန်မ၏သားသေရအောင်ဘုရားသခင်အား ကျွန်မ၏အပြစ်များကိုပြန် လည်သတိပေးရန်အတွက် ဤအရပ်သို့ ကြွလာတော်မူပါသလော'' ဟုဆို၏။
19 But Elijah replied, “Give your son to me.” So she gave her son to him, and he took the boy’s [body] from her and carried it up [the steps] to the room where he stayed. He laid the boy’s [body] on his bed.
၁၉ဧလိယက``သင်၏သားကိုငါ့အားပေးလော့'' ဟုဆိုကာမုဆိုးမ၏လက်မှသူငယ်ကိုယူ၍ မိမိတည်းခိုရာအထက်ခန်းသို့ပွေ့ချီသွား ပြီးလျှင် အိပ်ရာပေါ်တွင်ချထားလိုက်၏။-
20 Then Elijah cried out to Yahweh, “O Yahweh my God, this widow [has kindly allowed] me to stay in her home. So why have you brought this tragedy to her and caused her son to die?” [RHQ]
၂၀ထို့နောက်သူသည်``အို အကျွန်ုပ်၏ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား၊ ဤမုဆိုးမအားအဘယ် ကြောင့်ကိုယ်တော်သည် ဤသို့ထိတ်လန့်ဖွယ် ကောင်းသောအမှုကိုပြုတော်မူပါသနည်း။ ထိုအမျိုးသမီးသည်ကျွန်ုပ်အားကောင်းစွာ ကျွေးမွေးပြုစုပါ၏။ သို့ရာတွင်ယခုကိုယ် တော်သည်သူ၏သားငယ်ကိုသေစေတော် မူပါပြီ'' ဟုကျယ်လောင်စွာဆုတောင်းပတ္ထ နာပြုလေ၏။-
21 Then Elijah stretched himself on top of the boy’s [body] and called out to Yahweh saying, “Yahweh my God, please allow this boy to become alive again!” He did this three times.
၂၁ထို့နောက်ဧလိယသည်သူငယ်၏အပေါ်တွင် သုံးကြိမ်တိုင်တိုင်ဝမ်းလျားမှောက်ပြီးလျှင်``အို အကျွန်ုပ်၏ဘုရားသခင်ထာဝရဘုရား၊ ဤကလေးကိုအသက်ပြန်၍ရှင်စေတော် မူပါ'' ဟုဆုတောင်း၏။-
22 Yahweh heard what Elijah prayed, and [he caused] the boy [to] become alive again [DOU].
၂၂ထာဝရဘုရားသည်ဧလိယ၏ပန်ကြား ချက်ကိုနားညောင်းတော်မူသဖြင့် ကလေး သည်ထွက်သက်ဝင်သက်ကိုပြန်လည်ရရှိ ကာအသက်ပြန်၍ရှင်လာလေသည်။
23 Elijah carried the boy down [the steps] and gave him to his mother. He said, “Look, your son is alive!”
၂၃ဧလိယသည်သူငယ်ကိုအိမ်အောက်ထပ်သို့ ချီဆောင်သွားပြီးလျှင် မိခင်ဖြစ်သူအား``ကြည့် လော့။ သင်၏သားသည်အသက်ရှင်လျက်ရှိ ပါ၏'' ဟုဆို၏။
24 The woman said to Elijah, “Now I know [for certain] that you are a prophet and that the words that you speak are truly from Yahweh!”
၂၄ထိုအမျိုးသမီးကလည်း``အရှင်သည်ဘုရားသခင်၏အစေခံဖြစ်ကြောင်းကိုလည်းကောင်း၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည်အရှင်အားဖြင့်ဗျာဒိတ် ပေးတော်မူကြောင်းကိုလည်းကောင်း ယခု ကျွန်မသိပါပြီ'' ဟုပြန်ပြောလေ၏။
