1 Benjamin had five sons: Bela, Ashbel, Aharah,
Now Benjamin beget Bale his firstborn, Asbel the second, Ahara the third,
Nohaa the fourth, and Rapha the fifth.
3 The sons of Bela were Addar, Gera, Abihud,
And the sons of Bale were Addar, and Gera, and Abiud,
4 Abishua, Naaman, Ahoah,
And Abisue, and Naamar, and Ahoe,
5 Gera, Shephuphan, and Huram.
And Gera, and Sephuphan, and Huram.
6 [One of Gera’s sons was Ehud.] The descendants of Ehud were leaders of their clans who lived in Geba [city], but they were forced to move to Manahath [city].
These are the sons of Ahod, heads of families that dwelt in Gabaa, who were removed into Mrtnahsth.
7 Ehud’s sons/descendants were Naaman, Ahijah, and Gera. Gera was the one who led them when they moved to Manahath. Gera was the father of Uzza and Ahihud.
And Naaman, and Achia, and Gera he removed them, and beget Oza, and Ahiud.
8 [Another descendant of Benjamin was Shaharaim]. He and his wife Hushim had two sons, Abitub and Elpaal. In [the] Moab [region], Shaharaim divorced Hushim and his other wife Baara. [Then he married a woman whose name was] Hodesh, and they had [seven sons]: Jobab, Zibia, Mesha, Malcam, Jeuz, Sakia, and Mirmah. They were all leaders of their clans.
And Saharim begot in the land of Moab, after he sent away Husim and Bara his wives.
And he beget of Hodes his wife Jobab, and Sebia, and Mesa, and Molchom,
And Jehus and Sechia, and Marma. These were his sons heads of their families.
And Mehusim beget Abitob, and Elphaal.
12 Elpaal’s sons were Eber, Misham, Shemed, Beriah, and Shema. Shemed built [the towns of] Ono and Lod, and the nearby villages. Beriah and Shema were leaders of their clans, who lived in Aijalon [city]. They forced the people who lived in Gath [city] to leave their city.
And the sons of Elphaal were Heber, and Misaam, and Samad: who built One, and Led, and its daughters.
And Baria, and Sama were heads of their kindreds that dwelt in Aialon: these drove away the inhabitants of Geth.
14 Beriah’s sons were Ahio, Shashak, Jeremoth, Zebadiah, Arad, Eder, Michael, Ishpah, and Joha.
And Ahio, and Sesac, and Jerimoth,
And Zabadia, and Arod, and Heder,
And Michael, and Jespha, and Joha, the sons of Baria.
17 [Other] descendants of Elpaal were Zebadiah, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber,
And Zabadia, and Mosollam, and Hezeci, and Heber,
18 Ishmerai, Izliah, and Jobab.
And Jesamari, and Jezlia, and Jobab, sons of Elphaal,
19 [Another descendant of Benjamin was Shimei.] Shimei’s descendants included Jakim, Zicri, Zabdi, Elienai, Zillethai, Eliel, Adaiah, Beraiah, and Shimrath.
And Jacim, and Zechri, and Zabdi,
And Elioenai, and Selethai, and Elial,
And Adaia, and Baraia, and Samareth, the sons of Semei.
22 Shashak’s sons were Ishpan, Eber, Eliel,
And Jespham, and Heber, and Eliel,
And Abdon, and Zechri, and Hanan,
24 Hananiah, Elam, Anthothijah,
And Hanania, and Elam, and Anathothia.
And Jephdaia, and Phanuel the sons of Sesac.
26 [Another descendant of Benjamin was] Jeroham, whose sons were Shamsherai, Shehariah, Athaliah, Jaareshiah, Elijah, and Zicri.
And Samsari, and Sohoria and Otholia,
And Jersia, and Elia, and Zechri, the sons of Jeroham.
28 In the records of these clans it is written that all those men were leaders of their clans, and they lived in Jerusalem.
These were the chief fathers, and heads of their families who dwelt in Jerusalem.
29 [Another descendant of Benjamin was] Jeiel. He lived in Gibeon [town], and he was the leader there. His wife was Maacah.
And at Gabaon dwelt Abigabaon, and the name of his wife was Maacha:
30 His oldest son was Abdon. His other sons were Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
And his firstborn son Abdon, and Sur, and Cia, and Baal, and Nadab,
And Gedor, and Ahio, and Zacher, and Macelloth:
32 and Mikloth. Mikloth was the father of Shimeah. All these sons of Jeiel also lived near their relatives in Jerusalem.
And Macelloth beget Samaa: and they dwelt over against their brethren in Jerusalem with their brethren.
33 Ner was the father of Kish, and Kish was the father of [King] Saul. Saul was the father of Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab, and Esh-Baal.
And Ner beget Cia, and Cia beget Saul. And Saul begot Jonathan and Melchisua, and Abinadab, and Esbaal.
34 Jonathan’s son was Merib-Baal. Merib-Baal was the father of Micah.
And the son of Jonathan was Meribbaal: and Meribbaal begot Micha.
35 Micah’s sons were Pithon, Melech, Tarea, and Ahaz.
And the sons of Micha were Phithon, and Melech, and Tharaa, and Ahaz.
36 Ahaz was the father of Jehoaddah. Jehoaddah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri. Zimri was the father of Moza.
And Ahaz beget Joada: and Joada beget Alamath, and Azmoth, and Zamri: and Zamri beget Mesa,
37 Moza was the father of Binea. The son of Binea was Raphah. The son of Raphah was Eleasah. The son of Eleasah was Azel.
And Mesa beget Banaa, whose son was Rapha, of whom was born Elasa, who beget Asel.
38 Azel had six sons: Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan.
And Asel had six sons whose names were Ezricam, Bochru, Ismahel, Saria, Obdia, and Hanan. All these were the sons of Asel.
39 Azel’s [younger] brother was Eshek. Eshek’s oldest son was Ulam. His other sons were Jeush and Eliphelet.
And the sons of Esec, his brother, were Ulam the firstborn, and Jehus the second, and Eliphelet the third.
40 Ulam’s sons were brave warriors and (good archers/able to shoot arrows well). Altogether they had 150 sons and grandsons. Those were the descendants of Benjamin.
And the sons of Ulam were most valiant men, and archers of great strength: and they had many sons and grandsons, even to a hundred and fifty. All these were children of Benjamin.
