1 Issachar’s four sons were Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron.
Quant aux fils d'Issachar, ils étaient quatre: Thola, Phua, Jasub et Sémeron.
2 Tola’s sons were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Samuel (OR, Shemuel). They were all leaders of the clans [descended from] them. In the record of Tola’s descendants were the names of 22,600 men who served in the army during the time that David was the king [of Israel].
Fils de Thola: Ozi, Raphaïas, Jeriel, Jamaï, Jémasan et Samuel, chefs des familles issues de Thola; dont le nombre, au temps de David, fut de vingt-deux mille six cents hommes, tous nés forts et vaillants.
3 Uzzi’s son was Izrahiah. Izrahiah’s five sons were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah. Izrahiah and his sons were all leaders of their clans.
Fils d'Ozi: Jezraïe; fils de Jezraïe: Michel, Abdiu, Johel et Jésia; en tout cinq chefs.
4 In the record of Izrahiah’s descendants were the names of 36,000 men who served in the army because they had many wives and children.
Et avec eux, il y eut dans leurs familles paternelles des hommes nés forts et vaillants, au nombre de trente-six mille en état de porter les armes; Car ils avaient eu beaucoup de femmes et beaucoup d'enfants.
5 In the records of the clans descended from Issachar were the names of 87,000 men who served in the army.
Et leurs frères dans toutes les familles d'Issachar, hommes forts et vaillants aussi, étaient quatre-vingt-sept mille; tel fut leur nombre total.
6 [Some of the] sons of Benjamin were Bela, Beker, and Jediael.
Fils de Benjamin: Balé, Bachir et Jediel; trois.
7 Bela’s five sons were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri. They were all leaders of clans. In the records of the clans descended from Bela there were names of 22,034 men who served in the army.
Fils de Balé: Esebon, Ozi, Oziel, Jerimuth et Uri; cinq. Chefs des familles issues de Balé, au nombre de vingt-deux mille trente-quatre hommes forts et vaillants.
8 Beker’s sons were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth.
Fils de Bachir: Zémira, Joas, Eliézer, Elithénan, Amarias, Jerimuth, Abiud, Anathoth et Eliémeth; voilà tous les fils de Bachir.
9 In the records of the clans descended from Beker were the names of 20,200 men and leaders of the clans who served in the army.
Et le nombre des familles dont, selon leur naissance, ils furent les premiers chefs, s'éleva jusqu'à vingt. mille deux cents hommes forts et vaillants.
10 Jediael’s son was Bilhan. Bilhan’s sons were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.
Fils de Jediel: Balaan, fils de Balaan; Jaiis, Benjamin, Aoth, Chanana, Zêthan, Tharsi et Achisaar.
11 They were all leaders of clans descended from them. There were 17,200 of them who served in the army.
Voilà tous les fils de Jediel, vaillants chefs de familles, dont le nombre fut de dix-sept mille deux cents hommes forts et vaillants, en état de porter les armes.
12 Shuppim and Huppim were descendants of Ir. [One of] the descendants of Aher was Hushim.
Saphin et Aphin étaient fils de Hor, et Hasom était fils d'Aor.
13 Naphtali’s sons were Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem. They were all descendants of [Jacob’s slave wife] Bilhah.
Fils de Nephtbali: Jasiel, Goni et Aser, Sellom, fils de ce dernier, et Balam son fils.
14 [This is a list of] Manasseh’s descendants. Manasseh had a slave wife who was from Syria. She was the mother of Asriel and Makir. Makir was the father of Gilead.
Fils de Manassé: Esriel, qu'enfanta sa concubine la Syrienne, qui lui enfanta aussi Machir, père de Galaad.
15 Makir [had two wives]. They were from the clans of Huppim and Shuppim. One of Makir’s wives was named Maacah. Another descendant [of Makir] was Zelophehad. Zelophehad [had no sons; he] had only daughters.
Et Machir maria Aphin et Saphin; sa sœur s'appelait Moocha, et le nom du second fils fut Saphaad; or, Saphaad n'eut que des filles.
16 Makir’s wife Maacah gave birth to two sons whom she named Peresh and Sheresh. Sheresh’s sons were Ulam and Rakem.
Et Moocha, femme de Machir, enfanta un fils, et elle le nomma Pharès, et il eut un frère nommé Suros, le même que Galaad, et ses deux fils furent Ulam et Rocom.
17 Ulam’s son was Bedan. All those [men were considered to be] descendants of Gilead, who was the son of Makir and grandson of Manasseh.
Fils d'Ulam: Badam; voilà les fils de Galaad, fils de Machir, fils de Manassé.
18 Makir’s sister name was Hammoleketh who was the mother of Ishdod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
Et sa sœur Malécheth enfanta Isud, Abiézer et Maéla;
19 [One son of Gilead was] Shemida, whose sons were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
Et Semira eut pour fils Kim, Sichem, Lacim et Anian.
20 [This is a list of] the descendants of Ephraim. One son of Ephraim’s was Shuthelah. Shuthelah’s son was Bered. Bered’s son was Tahath. Tahath’s son was Eleadah. Eleadah’s son was [also named] Tahath.

21 Tahath’s son was Zabad. Zabad’s son was Shuthelah. [Ephraim’s other sons, ] Ezer and Elead, went to Gath [city] to steal some cows and sheep. But they were both killed by some of the men from that city.
Zabad, Sothelé, Azer et Eléad. Et des hommes de Geth les tuèrent tous, parce qu'ils s'étaient mis en campagne pour enlever leurs troupeaux.
22 Their father Ephraim cried/mourned for them for many days, and his family came to comfort him.
Et leur père Ephraïm s'affligea longtemps, et ses frères vinrent le consoler.
23 Then he and his wife had sex [EUP] [again], and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. Ephraim named him Beriah [which resembles the word ‘trouble’, ] because of the trouble that his family had experienced.
Et il s'approcha de sa femme, et elle conçut, et elle eut un fils, et il le nomma Beria, parce que, dit-il, il est venu en ma maison dans notre malheur.
24 Ephraim’s daughter was Sheerah. Her workers built [three towns]: Lower Beth-Horon, Upper Beth-Horon, and Uzzen-Sheerah.

25 [Another] son of Ephraim was Rephah. Rephah’s son was Resheph. Resheph’s son was Telah. Telah’s son was Tahan.
Et Raphé son fils, Saraph et Thaléès ses fils, et Thaen son fils.
26 Tahan’s son was Ladan. Ladan’s son was Ammihud. Ammihud’s son was Elishama.
A Laadan, son fils, naquit Amiud, père d'Elisamai,
27 Elishama’s son was Nun. Nun’s son was Joshua, [the man who led the Israelis after Moses died].
Père de Nun, père de Josué; tels furent ses fils.
28 [This is a list of] the cities and areas where the descendants of Ephraim lived: Bethel and the nearby villages; Naaran to the east; Gezer to the west and the nearby villages; and Shechem and the nearby villages. Those villages extended [north] as far as Ayyah and the nearby villages.

29 Along the border of the area where the descendants of Manasseh lived were these towns: Beth-Shan, Taanach, Megiddo, and Dor, and the nearby villages. The people who lived in all those places were descendants of Jacob’s son Joseph.
Et jusqu'aux confins des fils de Manassé, Bethsan et ses bourgs, Thanach et ses bourgs, Mageddo et ses bourgs, Dor et ses bourgs. C'est là qu'étaient établis les fils de Joseph, fils d'Israél.
30 Asher’s sons were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. Their sister was Serah.

31 Beriah’s sons were Heber and Malkiel. Malkiel was the father of Birzaith

32 Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham. Their sister was Shua.

33 Japhlet’s sons were Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath.

34 Japhlet’s [younger] brother was Shomer. Shomer’s sons were Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.
Fils de Samer: Achi, Rooga, Joba et Aram.
35 Shomer’s [younger] brother was Hotham (OR, Helem). Hotham’s sons were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.
Fils de son frère Banehelam: Sopha, Imala, Sellés et Amal.
36 Zophah’s sons were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah,
Fils de Sopha: Sué, Arnaphar, Suda, Barin, Imran,
37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran [whose other name was Jether], and Beera.
Basan, Hod, Sama, Salisa, Jethra et Bééra.
38 Jether’s sons were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara.

39 [Another descendant of Asher was] Ulla, whose sons were Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.
Fils d'Ola: Orech, Aniel et Rasia;
40 All those men were descendants of Asher, and they were all leaders of their clans. They were brave warriors and excellent leaders. In the record of the clans that are descended from Asher are [the names of] 26,000 men who served in the army.
