1 Chronicles 16
1 They brought the Sacred Chest [to Gibeon] and put it inside the Sacred Tent that David had [told his workers to] set up. Then they brought offerings to be completely burned [on the altar] and offerings to enable them to maintain fellowship [with God].
Ils amenèrent donc l'Arche de Dieu, et la posèrent dans le tabernacle que David lui avait tendu; et on offrit devant Dieu des holocaustes et des sacrifices de prospérités.
2 When David had finished presenting all those offerings, he [asked Yahweh to] bless the people.
Et quand David eut achevé d'offrir les holocaustes et les sacrifices de prospérités, il bénit le peuple au Nom de l'Eternel.
3 He gave a loaf of bread, some dates, and some raisins to every Israeli man and woman [who was there].
Et il distribua à chacun, tant aux hommes qu'aux femmes, un pain, et une pièce de chair, et une bouteille de vin.
4 Then David appointed some of the descendants of Levi to stand in front of [the Sacred Tent in which] the Sacred Chest [had been placed], to lead the people who worshiped and thanked and praised Yahweh, the God of the Israeli people.
Et il établit quelques-uns des Lévites devant l'Arche de l'Eternel, pour y faire le service, pour célébrer, remercier, et louer le Dieu d'Israël.
5 Asaph, who played the cymbals, was their leader. Zechariah was his assistant. The other descendants of Levi [who helped Asaph] were Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel. They played lyres and harps.
Asaph était le premier, et Zacharie le second, Jéhiël, Sémiramoth, Jéhiël, Mattitia, Eliab, Bénéja, Hobed-Edom, et Jéchiël, qui avaient des instruments de musique, [savoir] des musettes et des violons; et Asaph faisait retentir [sa voix] avec des cymbales.
6 Benaiah and Jahaziel were priests who blew trumpets frequently in front of [the Sacred Tent in which was] the Sacred Chest.
Et Bénéja et Jahaziël Sacrificateurs étaient continuellement avec des trompettes devant l'Arche de l'alliance de Dieu.
7 On that day, David gave to Asaph and his helpers this psalm to praise Yahweh:
Et en ce même jour David remit entre les mains d'Asaph et de ses frères, les [Psaumes suivants], pour commencer à célébrer l'Eternel.
8 Thank God, and pray to him [MTY]. Tell the people of all nations what he has done.
CELEBREZ l'Eternel, invoquez son Nom, faites connaître parmi les peuples ses exploits.
9 Sing to him; sing songs to praise him. Tell about all his miraculous deeds.
Chantez lui, psalmodiez lui, parlez de toutes ses merveilles.
10 Be glad that you belong to him [MTY]; those who want to know Yahweh better should rejoice.
Glorifiez-vous du Nom de sa sainteté; que le cœur de ceux qui cherchent l'Eternel se réjouisse.
11 Trust in Yahweh and in his power; continually seek to get help from him.
Recherchez l'Eternel et sa force, cherchez continuellement sa face.
12 Do not forget the wonderful things that he has done, the miracles and the just laws that he has given to us.
Souvenez-vous des merveilles qu'il a faites; de ses miracles, et des jugements de sa bouche.
13 We people are the descendants of his servant Jacob; we are the people of Israel whom he has chosen.
La postérité d'Israël sont ses serviteurs; les enfants de Jacob sont ses
14 Yahweh is our God. His just/fair laws are known by people throughout the world.
Il est l'Eternel notre Dieu; ses jugements sont par toute la terre.
15 He never forgets the agreement that he has made: he made a promise that will last for 1,000 generations.
Souvenez-vous toujours de son alliance, de la parole qu'il a prescrite en mille générations;
16 That is the agreement that he made with Abraham, and he repeated that agreement to Isaac.
Du traité qu'il a fait avec Abraham; et de son serment fait à Isaac;
17 It was an agreement for the Israeli people, and he wanted that agreement to endure forever.
Lequel il a confirmé à Jacob [et] à Israël, pour être une ordonnance et une alliance éternelle.
18 What he said was, “I will give the Canaan region to you, to belong to you [and your descendants forever].”
En disant: Je te donnerai le pays de Canaan, pour le lot de ton héritage;
19 [He said that to them] when there were only a few of them, a tiny group of people who were living in that land (like strangers/that belonged to other people);
Encore que vous soyez un petit nombre de gens, et même que vous y séjourniez depuis peu de temps, comme étrangers.
20 they continued to wander from one place to another, from one kingdom to another.
Car ils étaient errants de nation en nation, et d'un Royaume vers un autre peuple.
21 But he did not allow others to oppress them, and he warned kings by saying to them,
Il n'a pas souffert qu'aucun les outrageât; même il a châtié les Rois pour l'amour d'eux.
22 “Do not harm the people whom I have chosen! Do not harm my prophets!”
[Et il a dit]: Ne touchez point à mes Oints, et ne faites point de mal à mes Prophètes.
23 You people throughout the world, sing to Yahweh. Every day proclaim [to others] that he has saved us.
TOUTE la terre, chantez à l'Eternel, prêchez chaque jour sa délivrance;
24 Tell the people of the nations that he is great; tell all the people-groups the marvelous things [that he has done].
Racontez sa gloire parmi les nations, [et] ses merveilles parmi tous les peuples.
25 Yahweh is great, and he deserves to be praised very much. He should be revered more than all the gods,
Car l'Eternel est grand, et très-digne de louange, il est plus redoutable que tous les dieux.
26 because all the gods that the [other] people-groups [worship] are only idols, but Yahweh [is truly great; he] created the skies.
Et en effet tous les dieux des peuples sont des idoles; mais l'Eternel a fait les cieux.
27 He is glorious and majestic; his power and joy fill his Sacred Tent.
La Majesté et la magnificence [marchent] devant lui; la force et la joie sont dans le lieu où il habite.
28 You people in nations all over the world, praise Yahweh! Praise Yahweh for his glorious power [HEN]!
Familles des peuples, attribuez à l'Eternel, attribuez à l'Eternel gloire et force.
29 Praise Yahweh like he [MTY] deserves to be praised. Bring an offering and come to his Sacred Tent. Worship Yahweh because he is holy.
Attribuez à l'Eternel la gloire due à son Nom; apportez l'oblation, et présentez-vous devant lui; prosternez-vous devant l'Eternel avec une sainte magnificence.
30 Everyone on the earth should tremble in front of Yahweh. He put the earth firmly [in its place]; and nothing ever will be able to move/shake it.
Vous tous les habitants de la terre tremblez, tout étonnés pour la présence de sa face; car la terre habitable est affermie [par lui], sans qu'elle soit ébranlée.
31 Everything in the sky and on the earth should be happy. People [everywhere] should say, “Yahweh is our king!”
Que les cieux se réjouissent, que la terre s'égaye, et qu'on dise parmi les nations: L'Eternel règne.
32 The oceans and all the creatures that are in the oceans should shout to praise him; the fields and everything that is in them should rejoice.
Que la mer et tout ce qu'elle contient bruie; que les champs et tout ce qui est en eux se réjouissent.
33 When they do that, [it will be as though] the trees in the forest will sing joyfully in front of Yahweh. That will happen when he comes to judge [everyone on] [MTY] the earth.
Alors les arbres de la forêt crieront de joie au devant de l'Eternel, parce qu'il vient juger la terre.
34 Thank Yahweh, because [everything that he does is] good. He faithfully loves us forever.
Célébrez l'Eternel, car il est bon; parce que sa gratuité demeure à jamais.
35 Say to him, “God, you are the one who rescues us, so gather us together and save us from [the armies of] other nations. When you do that, we will thank you [MTY], and we will be happy to praise you.”
Et dites: Ô Dieu! de notre salut, sauve-nous, et nous rassemble, et nous retire d'entre les nations, pour célébrer ton saint Nom, [et] pour nous glorifier en ta louange.
36 Praise Yahweh, the God of us Israeli people, He has always existed, and he will exist forever. After the people [finished singing that song], they all said, “(Amen/May it be so)!”, and they praised Yahweh.
Béni soit l'Eternel le Dieu d'Israël, depuis un siècle jusqu'à l'autre! Et tout le peuple dit: Amen; et on loua l'Eternel.
37 Then David left Asaph and the other members of his clan there in front of [the tent in which] Yahweh’s Sacred Chest [had been placed]. He told them that they must do their work there every day.
On laissa donc là devant l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel, Asaph et ses frères, pour faire le service continuellement, selon ce qu'il y avait à faire chaque jour devant l'Arche.
38 David also left Obed-Edom and 68 other descendants of Levi to work with them. Hosah and Obed-Edom guarded [the entrances of the Sacred Tent].
Et Hobed-Edom, et ses frères, au nombre de soixante-huit, Hobed-Edom, dis-je, fils de Jéduthun, et Hosa pour portiers.
39 David also told Zadok the [Supreme] Priest and the other priests who worked with him to remain in front of Yahweh’s Sacred Tent, which was still at the place where the Israeli people worshiped [God there] in Gibeon [city].
Et [on laissa] Tsadoc le Sacrificateur, et ses frères Sacrificateurs, devant le pavillon de l'Eternel, dans le haut lieu qui était à Gabaon,
40 Every morning and every evening they burned offerings on the altar, obeying the rules/laws that had been written [by Moses], rules/laws which Yahweh had given to the Israeli people.
Pour offrir des holocaustes à l'Eternel continuellement sur l'autel de l'holocauste, le matin, et le soir, et pour faire toutes les choses qui sont écrites dans la Loi de l'Eternel, lesquelles il avait commandées à Israël;
41 With them were Heman and Jeduthun and other descendants of Levi. They [MTY] were chosen to sing songs to praise Yahweh because he faithfully loves his people forever.
Et avec eux Héman et Jéduthun, et les autres qui furent choisis et marqués par leur nom, pour célébrer l'Eternel, parce que sa gratuité demeure éternellement.
42 Heman and Jeduthun were appointed to play the trumpets and cymbals when [the other descendants of Levi sang sacred songs]. The sons of Jeduthun were appointed to guard the gates [of the Sacred Tent].
Et Héman et Jéduthun étaient avec ceux-là; il y avait aussi des trompettes, et des cymbales pour ceux qui faisaient retentir [leur voix], et des instruments pour chanter les cantiques de Dieu; et les fils de Jéduthun étaient portiers.
43 Then all the people left. They returned to their homes, and David returned home to [ask Yahweh to] bless his family.
Puis tout le peuple s'en alla chacun en sa maison, et David aussi s'en retourna pour bénir sa maison.
