< 1 Chronicles 16 >

1 They brought the Sacred Chest [to Gibeon] and put it inside the Sacred Tent that David had [told his workers to] set up. Then they brought offerings to be completely burned [on the altar] and offerings to enable them to maintain fellowship [with God].

2 When David had finished presenting all those offerings, he [asked Yahweh to] bless the people.

3 He gave a loaf of bread, some dates, and some raisins to every Israeli man and woman [who was there].
Israel hlang boeih te tongpa khaw, huta ham khaw buh hluem, maehcaeng, yukhap rhip a tael pah.
4 Then David appointed some of the descendants of Levi to stand in front of [the Sacred Tent in which] the Sacred Chest [had been placed], to lead the people who worshiped and thanked and praised Yahweh, the God of the Israeli people.

5 Asaph, who played the cymbals, was their leader. Zechariah was his assistant. The other descendants of Levi [who helped Asaph] were Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel. They played lyres and harps.

6 Benaiah and Jahaziel were priests who blew trumpets frequently in front of [the Sacred Tent in which was] the Sacred Chest.

7 On that day, David gave to Asaph and his helpers this psalm to praise Yahweh:
Te vaengah tue ah BOEIPA te lamhma la uem ham David loh Asaph neh a manuca rhoek taengah a paek.
8 Thank God, and pray to him [MTY]. Tell the people of all nations what he has done.
BOEIPA te uem uh lamtah, a ming te khue uh. A khoboe rhamlang te pilnam taengah ming sakuh.
9 Sing to him; sing songs to praise him. Tell about all his miraculous deeds.
Amah te hlai uh lamtah, amah te tingtoeng uh. Amah kah khobaerhambae cungkuem dongah lolmang uh lah.
10 Be glad that you belong to him [MTY]; those who want to know Yahweh better should rejoice.
Amah kah hmuencim ming dongah thangthen uh lamtah, BOEIPA aka tlap kah lungbuei tah a kohoe saeh.
11 Trust in Yahweh and in his power; continually seek to get help from him.
BOEIPA te toem uh lamtah a sarhi neh a maelhmai te tlap yoeyah uh.
12 Do not forget the wonderful things that he has done, the miracles and the just laws that he has given to us.
A saii kopoekrhai neh a ka laitloeknah bangla amah kah khobaerhambae te poek uh.
13 We people are the descendants of his servant Jacob; we are the people of Israel whom he has chosen.
Israel tiingan he amah kah sal tih, Jakob koca he amah kah a coelh ni.
14 Yahweh is our God. His just/fair laws are known by people throughout the world.
Amah tah mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA ni, a laitloeknah he diklai pum ah om.
15 He never forgets the agreement that he has made: he made a promise that will last for 1,000 generations.
A paipi te kumhal duela poek uh. Cadilcahma thawngkhat ham khaw ol a uen coeng.
16 That is the agreement that he made with Abraham, and he repeated that agreement to Isaac.
Te te Abraham taengah a saii tih a olhlo te Isaak taengah a khueh.
17 It was an agreement for the Israeli people, and he wanted that agreement to endure forever.
Kumhal paipi te Israel taengkah oltlueh bangla Jakob taengah khaw a pai sak.
18 What he said was, “I will give the Canaan region to you, to belong to you [and your descendants forever].”
“Kanaan khohmuen te Nang taengah na rho neh khoyo la kam paek ni.
19 [He said that to them] when there were only a few of them, a tiny group of people who were living in that land (like strangers/that belonged to other people);

20 they continued to wander from one place to another, from one kingdom to another.
Namtom lamloh namtom taengla, ram khat lamloh pilnam tloe taengla pongpa uh.
21 But he did not allow others to oppress them, and he warned kings by saying to them,
Amih hnaemtaek ham te hlang taengla a tloeng pawt dongah amih yueng la manghai rhoek te a tluung pah.
22 “Do not harm the people whom I have chosen! Do not harm my prophets!”
Ka koelh rhoek te ben uh boeh, ka tonghma rhoek taengah khaw thaehuet uh boeh.
23 You people throughout the world, sing to Yahweh. Every day proclaim [to others] that he has saved us.
Diklai pum loh BOEIPA te hlai uh lah, amah kah khangnah te a hnin, hnin ah phong uh.
24 Tell the people of the nations that he is great; tell all the people-groups the marvelous things [that he has done].
Amah thangpomnah te namtom taengah, amah kah khobaerhambae te pilnam cungkuem taengah daek uh.
25 Yahweh is great, and he deserves to be praised very much. He should be revered more than all the gods,
BOEIPA tah len tih muep thangthen pai saeh. Pathen boeih lakah amah a rhih om pai.
26 because all the gods that the [other] people-groups [worship] are only idols, but Yahweh [is truly great; he] created the skies.
Pilnam kah pathen boeih tah mueirhol rhoek ni. Tedae BOEIPA loh vaan a saii.
27 He is glorious and majestic; his power and joy fill his Sacred Tent.
A mikhmuh ah mueithennah neh rhuepomnah, a ngolnah hmuen ah a sarhi neh kohoenah om.
28 You people in nations all over the world, praise Yahweh! Praise Yahweh for his glorious power [HEN]!
Pilnam paca te BOEIPA taengah pae uh, thangpomnah neh sarhi te khaw BOEIPA taengah pae uh.
29 Praise Yahweh like he [MTY] deserves to be praised. Bring an offering and come to his Sacred Tent. Worship Yahweh because he is holy.
A ming thangpomnah te BOEIPA taengah pae uh lamtah, khocang te khuen uh. A mikhmuh ah kun uh lamtah, hmuencim kah rhuepomnah khuiah BOEIPA te bawk uh lah.
30 Everyone on the earth should tremble in front of Yahweh. He put the earth firmly [in its place]; and nothing ever will be able to move/shake it.
A mikhmuh ah diklai pum he hinghuen saeh. Lunglai ngawn tah cikngae tih tuen pawh.
31 Everything in the sky and on the earth should be happy. People [everywhere] should say, “Yahweh is our king!”
Vaan rhoek te a kohoe saeh lamtah diklai khaw omngaih saeh. Namtom rhoek taengah BOEIPA a manghai te thui uh saeh.
32 The oceans and all the creatures that are in the oceans should shout to praise him; the fields and everything that is in them should rejoice.
Tuitunli neh a cungkuem khaw kawk saeh lamtah, khohmuen neh a khuikah a cungkuem loh sundaep saeh.
33 When they do that, [it will be as though] the trees in the forest will sing joyfully in front of Yahweh. That will happen when he comes to judge [everyone on] [MTY] the earth.
Diklai laitloek ham ha pawk coeng dongah duup thing rhoek khaw BOEIPA mikhmuh ah tamhoe uh saeh.
34 Thank Yahweh, because [everything that he does is] good. He faithfully loves us forever.
A sitlohnah te kumhal due ham a then dongah BOEIPA te uem uh.
35 Say to him, “God, you are the one who rescues us, so gather us together and save us from [the armies of] other nations. When you do that, we will thank you [MTY], and we will be happy to praise you.”
“Kaimih kah khangnah Pathen, kaimih he n'khang lah. Kaimih he n'coi lamtah namtom taeng lamloh kaimih n'huul lah. Na cimcaihnah ming te uem ham neh na kohoenah dongah ka domyok uh ham khaw,” ti uh.
36 Praise Yahweh, the God of us Israeli people, He has always existed, and he will exist forever. After the people [finished singing that song], they all said, “(Amen/May it be so)!”, and they praised Yahweh.
Israel Pathen BOEIPA tah, khosuen lamloh kumhal hil khaw a yoethen pai saeh. Te phoeiah pilnam boeih loh, “Amen, BOEIPA te thangthen pai saeh,” a ti uh.
37 Then David left Asaph and the other members of his clan there in front of [the tent in which] Yahweh’s Sacred Chest [had been placed]. He told them that they must do their work there every day.

38 David also left Obed-Edom and 68 other descendants of Levi to work with them. Hosah and Obed-Edom guarded [the entrances of the Sacred Tent].
Obededom neh a pacaboeina he sawmrhuk parhet lo. Thoh tawt la Jeduthun capa Obededom neh Hosah.
39 David also told Zadok the [Supreme] Priest and the other priests who worked with him to remain in front of Yahweh’s Sacred Tent, which was still at the place where the Israeli people worshiped [God there] in Gibeon [city].

40 Every morning and every evening they burned offerings on the altar, obeying the rules/laws that had been written [by Moses], rules/laws which Yahweh had given to the Israeli people.
BOEIPA taengah hmueihhlutnah aka nawn la, hmueihtuk sokah sainoek hmueihhlutnah te hlaem ah khaw, mincang ah khaw aka nawn la om uh. Te dongah a cungkuem la BOEIPA kah olkhueng khuiah a daek tih Israel taengah a uen coeng.
41 With them were Heman and Jeduthun and other descendants of Levi. They [MTY] were chosen to sing songs to praise Yahweh because he faithfully loves his people forever.
Amih taengah Heman, Jeduthun neh a coelh coih rhoek khaw om. Te rhoek te tah a sitlohnah kumhal due la a om dongah BOEIPA uem ham a ming neh a phoei.
42 Heman and Jeduthun were appointed to play the trumpets and cymbals when [the other descendants of Levi sang sacred songs]. The sons of Jeduthun were appointed to guard the gates [of the Sacred Tent].
Te vaengah Heman neh Jeduthun tah amih taengah olueng neh tlaklak aka tum la, Pathen kah lumlaa hnopai neh om. Jeduthun koca rhoek te vongka taengah omuh.
43 Then all the people left. They returned to their homes, and David returned home to [ask Yahweh to] bless his family.
