< Romans 2 >
1 Therefore yoʋ are without excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For on whatever grounds yoʋ judge another, yoʋ condemn yoʋrself, for yoʋ who judge do the same things.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio-rĩ, wee mũndũ ũyũ ndũrĩ na kĩĩgwatio, wee ũtuagĩra mũndũ ũrĩa ũngĩ ciira, nĩgũkorwo rĩrĩa ũgũtuĩra mũndũ ũngĩ ciira, nĩwe mwene ũretuĩra ciira, tondũ wee ũratuanĩra ciira wĩkaga maũndũ o macio ekaga.
2 Now we know that the judgment of God against those who do such things is in accordance with truth.
Na nĩtũũĩ atĩ Ngai agaatuĩra andũ arĩa mekaga maũndũ ta macio ciira na kĩhooto.
3 Do yoʋ suppose, O man—yoʋ who judge those who do such things and yet do them yoʋrself—that yoʋ will escape the judgment of God?
Tondũ rĩrĩa wee mũndũ ũyũ, ũtuagĩra arĩa angĩ ciira na ũgacooka ũgeeka maũndũ o macio mekaga-rĩ, wee ũgwĩciiria nĩũkahonoka ciira wa Ngai?
4 Or do yoʋ despise the riches of his kindness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads yoʋ to repentance?
Kana nĩkũnyarara ũnyararĩte ũtugi wake mũnene, na ũkirĩrĩria, na wetereri wake, ũkaaga kũmenya atĩ ũtugi wa Ngai nĩguo ũkũguucagĩrĩria nĩguo wĩrire?
5 But according to yoʋr stubbornness and yoʋr unrepentant heart, yoʋ are storing up wrath for yoʋrself on the day of wrath, revelation, and the righteous judgment of God,
No rĩrĩ, nĩ ũndũ wa ũrĩa ũmĩtie ngoro yaku, na ũkarega kwĩrira-rĩ, nĩ mangʼũrĩ ũreigĩra marĩa magagũũkĩrĩra. Nĩgũkorwo mũthenya wa mangʼũrĩ nĩũrooka, rĩrĩa matuĩro ma Ngai ma kĩhooto makaaguũranĩrio.
6 who will repay each person according to his works.
Nĩ ũndũ Ngai akaarĩha o mũndũ kũringana na maũndũ marĩa aaneka.
7 To those who by patient endurance in good works seek glory, honor, and immortality, he will give eternal life; (aiōnios )
8 but for those who are self-seeking and obey unrighteousness instead of the truth, there will be anger and wrath.
No arĩa eyendi, na nĩmaregaga ũhoro-wa-ma na makarũmagĩrĩra maũndũ mooru-rĩ, acio nĩmagakinyĩrwo nĩ mangʼũrĩ na marakara.
9 There will be tribulation and distress for everyone who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek;
Nĩgũkaagĩa na thĩĩna na mĩnyamaro kũrĩ andũ othe arĩa mekaga ũũru; mbere kũrĩ Ayahudi, na thuutha kũrĩ andũ-a-Ndũrĩrĩ;
10 but there will be glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek.
no riiri, na gĩtĩĩo, na thayũ ikaaheo mũndũ o wothe ũrĩa wĩkaga wega: mbere kũrĩ Ayahudi, na thuutha kũrĩ andũ-a-Ndũrĩrĩ.
11 For there is no partiality with God.
Nĩgũkorwo Ngai ndatĩĩagĩra andũ maũthĩ.
12 For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.
Andũ arĩa othe mehagia matarĩ watho-inĩ makaaniinwo matarĩ watho-inĩ, nao arĩa othe mehagia marĩ rungu rwa watho magaatuĩrwo ciira kũringana na watho ũcio.
13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified.
Nĩgũkorwo ti arĩa maiguaga watho matuagwo athingu maitho-inĩ ma Ngai, no arĩa maathĩkagĩra watho nĩo magaatuuo athingu.
14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what is required by the law, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.
(Ti-itherũ, rĩrĩa andũ-a-Ndũrĩrĩ arĩa matarĩ na watho mekaga maũndũ marĩa watho uugĩte nĩ ũndũ wa ũhoro wao wa mũciarĩre-rĩ, o ene nĩmonanagia nĩmooĩ watho ũcio, o na gũtuĩka matirĩ maũigua
15 They show that what the law requires is written in their hearts, as their conscience bears witness with them and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even defend them
tondũ nĩmonanagia atĩ maũndũ marĩa mabataranagia thĩinĩ wa watho nĩmandĩke ngoro-inĩ ciao, nacio thamiri ciao o nacio ikaruta ũira, namo meciiria mao rĩmwe makamaciirithagia na rĩrĩa rĩngĩ makamaciirĩrĩra.)
16 on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secret thoughts of men through Jesus Christ.
Ũndũ ũyũ ũkooneka mũthenya ũrĩa Ngai, na ũndũ wa Jesũ Kristũ agaatuĩra ciira meciiria ma hitho marĩa marĩ ngoro-inĩ cia andũ, o ta ũrĩa Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega uugĩte, ũrĩa niĩ hunjagia.
17 Behold, yoʋ call yoʋrself a Jew and rely on the law and boast in God.
Atĩrĩrĩ, angĩkorwo wee wĩĩtaga Mũyahudi; na ũngĩkorwo wĩhocagia ũhoro-inĩ wa watho na nĩwĩĩrahagĩra ngwatanĩro yaku na Ngai;
18 Yoʋ know his will and approve what is excellent, because yoʋ are instructed from the law.
angĩkorwo nĩũmenyete ũrĩa endaga, na ũgakũũrana maũndũ marĩa marĩ bata gũkĩra marĩa mangĩ tondũ wa ũrĩa ũrutĩtwo maũndũ ma watho;
19 And yoʋ have confidence that yoʋ yoʋrself are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in darkness,
angĩkorwo nĩwĩtĩkĩtie atĩ wee ũrĩ mũtongoria wa andũ arĩa atumumu, o na ũtheri wa gũtherera arĩa marĩ nduma-inĩ,
20 an instructor of the foolish, and a teacher of children, because yoʋ have in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth.
o na mũtaari wa andũ arĩa akĩĩgu, na mũrutani wa tũkenge, tondũ thĩinĩ wa watho ũrĩ na mũhianĩre wa ũrĩa ũmenyo wa ũhoro-wa-ma ũtariĩ;
21 Yoʋ then who teach others, do yoʋ not teach yoʋrself? Yoʋ who preach against stealing, do yoʋ steal?
hakĩrĩ ũguo-rĩ, wee ũrutaga andũ arĩa angĩ-rĩ, ndũngĩkĩĩruta wee mwene? Wee ũhunjagia atĩ andũ matikaiye-rĩ, wee nĩũiyaga?
22 Yoʋ who tell others not to commit adultery, do yoʋ commit adultery? Yoʋ who abhor idols, do yoʋ rob temples?
Wee uugaga atĩ andũ matikanatharanie-rĩ, wee nĩũtharanagia? Wee ũthũire mĩhianano-rĩ, wee nĩũiyaga indo cia hekarũ cia andũ arĩa matooĩ Ngai?
23 Yoʋ who boast in the law, do yoʋ dishonor God by transgressing the law?
Wee wĩrahagĩra watho-rĩ, nĩũconorithagia Ngai na ũndũ wa kwagarara watho ũcio?
24 As it is written, “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”
O ta ũrĩa kwandĩkĩtwo atĩrĩ, “Rĩĩtwa rĩa Ngai nĩrĩcambagio thĩinĩ wa andũ-a-Ndũrĩrĩ nĩ ũndũ wanyu.”
25 Circumcision does indeed benefit yoʋ if yoʋ observe the law, but if yoʋ transgress the law, yoʋr circumcision has become uncircumcision.
Ũhoro wa kũrua nĩ ũrĩ kĩguni ũngĩrũmia ũrĩa watho uugĩte, no ũngĩagarara watho ũcio-rĩ, ũhoro ũcio waku wa kũrua ũtuĩkĩte ta ũtaruĩte.
26 If then an uncircumcised man keeps the ordinances of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision?
Angĩkorwo arĩa matarĩ aruu nĩmahingagia maũndũ marĩa mabataranagia thĩinĩ wa watho-rĩ, githĩ acio matiagĩrĩire gũtuuo ta maruĩte?
27 Then he who is physically uncircumcised and carries out the law will judge yoʋ who, despite having the letter of the law and circumcision, transgress the law.
Mũndũ ũrĩa ũtarĩ mũruu mwĩrĩ na nĩahingagia ũrĩa watho uugĩte-rĩ, nĩakamũtuĩra ciira, inyuĩ mwagararaga watho ũcio o na mwakorwo nĩmũruĩte na mũrĩ na watho ũrĩa mwandĩke.
28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, neither is circumcision something outward in the flesh;
Tondũ-rĩ, Mũyahudi ti ũrĩa wonanagia atĩ nĩ Mũyahudi na igũrũ, nakuo kũrua to kũrĩa gwa kuoneka mwĩrĩ-inĩ.
29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. Such a man's praise comes not from men but from God.
Aca, Mũyahudi kũna nĩ ũrĩa Mũyahudi ngoro; nakuo kũrua nĩ kũrua kwa ngoro, ũguo nĩ kuuga atĩ nĩ ũhoro wa Roho, no ti wa watho ũrĩa mwandĩke. Kũganwo kwa mũndũ ta ũcio-rĩ, gũtiumaga kũrĩ andũ, no kuumaga kũrĩ Ngai.
