< Romans 13 >

1 Every person must be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist have been appointed by God.
2 So then, whoever resists authority opposes what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
Ya mere, onye ọbụla na-enupu isi nʼokpuru ọchịchị, na-emegide ihe Chineke hiwere, ndị na-eme nke a ga-ewetara onwe ha ikpe ọmụma.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil works. Do yoʋ wish to have no fear of the one in authority? Do what is good, and yoʋ will have praise from him.
Ndị na-eme ezi ihe anaghị atụ egwu ndị nọ nʼọchịchị, kama ndị na-atụ ha egwu bụ ndị na-eme ihe ọjọọ, ya mere ọ bụrụ na ị chọghị ịtụ ndị na-achị achị egwu, mee ihe dị mma, ha ga-etokwa gị.
4 For he is God's servant for your good. But if yoʋ do evil, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. As God's servant, he is an avenger who executes wrath on the one who does evil.
Nʼihi na ọ bụ onyeozi Chineke maka ọdịmma nke gị, ma ọ bụrụ na unu mere ihe na-adịghị mma, tụọnụ egwu, nʼihi na onye na-achị achị nwere ezi nkwado ịta onye mere ihe ọjọọ ahụhụ. Ọ bụ onyeozi Chineke bụrụkwa onye na-eji ọnụma na-ata ndị mmebi iwu ahụhụ.
5 Therefore it is necessary to be subject to authority, not only because of wrath, but also because of conscience.
Ya mere unu kwesiri irubere ndị na-achị achị isi, ọ bụghị naanị maka ahụhụ dịrị ndị nnupu isi, kama nʼihi akọnuche.
6 That is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are servants of God, attending continually to this work.
Ọ bụkwa nke a kpatara unu ji na-atụ ụtụ isi nke taks, nʼihi na ndị na-achị achị na-ejere Chineke ozi mgbe ha na-aga nʼihu nʼezi ọchịchị.
7 Therefore render to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, fear to whom fear is due, and honor to whom honor is due.
Kwụghachinụ onye ọbụla ihe unu ji ha nʼụgwọ, ọ bụrụ na unu ji ụgwọ ụtụ taks, kwụọnụ ya, ọ bụrụkwa ụgwọ ụtụ isi nke akụnụba unu, ka unu ji, kwụọnụ ya. Ọ bụrụ na onye ọbụla kwesiri ka a sọpụrụ ya, sọpụrụnụ onye dị otu a, ọ bụrụkwa na onye ọbụla kwesiri ka a kwanyere ya ugwu kwanyerenụ ya ugwu.
8 Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another, for he who loves others has fulfilled the law.
Kwụọnụ ụgwọ niile unu ji. Ka ụgwọ unu ga-ejide ndị mmadụ bụrụ ụgwọ ịhụ ha nʼanya. Nʼihi na mgbe ị na-ahụ ndị mmadụ nʼanya, ị na-emezu ihe niile iwu chọrọ.
9 For the commandments, “Yoʋ shall not commit adultery, Yoʋ shall not murder, Yoʋ shall not steal, Yoʋ shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Yoʋ shall love yoʋr neighbor as yoʋrself.”
Iwu niile e nyere, “Gị akwala iko,” “Egbula mmadụ,” “Ezula ohi,” “Enwela anya ukwu nʼihe mmadụ ibe gị nwere,” nakwa iwu ndị ọzọ niile e nyere ka a chịkọtara nʼotu nke a sịrị: “Hụ mmadụ ibe gị nʼanya dịka onwe gị.”
10 Love does no harm to its neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Ịhụnanya adịghị echere onye agbataobi ya echiche ọjọọ, ya mere ịhụnanya bụ idebezu iwu niile.
11 And do this, knowing that the hour has now come for us to be awakened from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
Ihe ọzọ mere o ji dị mkpa ibi ezi ndụ bụ nke a. Unu maara na oge ahụ anyị na-ele anya ya abịala nso. Ya mere, sitenụ nʼụra bilie, nʼihi na nzọpụta anyị adịla nso ugbu a karịa mgbe ahụ anyị kweere na mbụ.
12 The night is nearly over, and the day is almost here. So let us lay aside the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Abalị ekeela abụọ, ọ fọdụrụ ntakịrị ugbu a, ọ bụrụ ụtụtụ. Ka anyị yipụ uwe ọrụ nke ọchịchịrị, ma yikwasị ngwa agha nke ìhè.
13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelries and drinking bouts, not in illicit affairs and sensual indulgences, not in strife and jealousy.
Bụrụnụ ndị dị ọcha, dịka ndị na-akpagharị nʼehihie. Ọ bụghị nʼịgba egwu ruru unyi, maọbụ nʼịṅụbiga mmanya oke, ọ bụghị nʼịkwa iko, na imefe ihe ụwa oke. Ọ bụghị nʼesemokwu, na ekworo.
14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
Kama yirinụ Onyenwe anyị Jisọs Kraịst dịka uwe. Unu enyekwala ahụ unu ohere inweta ihe niile nke na-agụ ya.
