< Romans 10 >

1 Brothers, the desire of my heart and my prayer to God is that Israel may be saved.
Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.
2 I can testify that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they do not understand the righteousness of God, and by seeking to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted to God's righteousness.
For being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted themselves to the righteousness which is of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
For Christ is the end of the law, for righteousness to every believer.
5 Moses writes about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”
For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, "That the man who doth those things shall live by them."
6 But the righteousness that is by faith speaks like this: “Do not say in yoʋr heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down)
But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh thus, "Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven, (that is, to bring Christ down) or,
7 “or, ‘Who will go down into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). (Abyssos g12)
who shall descend into the deep, (that is, to (Abyssos g12)
8 But what does it say? “The word is near yoʋ, in yoʋr mouth and in yoʋr heart” (that is, the word of faith that we preach),
bring up Christ from the dead)" but what saith it? "The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth and in thy heart." This is the word of faith which we preach: that if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
9 because if yoʋ confess with yoʋr mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe with yoʋr heart that God raised him from the dead, yoʋ will be saved.
and believe in thine heart, that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart belief is exercised, resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made, resulting in salvation.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 As the Scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him, shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call upon him.
For there is no difference of Jew and Greek: for He being Lord of all is bountiful to all that call upon Him.
13 For “everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then will they call upon him in whom they have not believed? And how will they believe in him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without someone preaching?
But how shall they call upon him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe on him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who preach good news of good things!”
and how shall they preach unless they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good tidings of peace, who bring the good tidings of good things?
16 But not all the Israelites have obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”
But all have not obeyed the gospel: for Esaias saith, "Lord, who hath believed our report?"
17 So then, faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes through the word of God.
So that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I ask, have they not heard? On the contrary, “The message has gone out into all the earth, and the words to the ends of the world.”
But I say, Have they not heard? Verily their sound is gone out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.
19 Again I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, “I will provoke you to jealousy by that which is not a nation; by a nation that has no understanding I will provoke you to anger.”
But I say again, Did not Israel know this? when first Moses saith, "I will move you to jealousy by those who are not a people, I will provoke you to anger by a foolish nation:"
20 And Isaiah is even bold enough to say, “I was found by those who were not seeking me; I became known to those who were not asking for me.”
and Esaias positively affirms, "I was found of them that sought me not, I was made manifest to them that asked not after me:"
21 But to Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”
and saith to Israel, "All the day long have I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and gainsaying people."
