Revelation 17
1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show yoʋ the judgment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters.
Y vino uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas, y me dijo: Ven acá, para que veas el juicio contra la gran ramera, que está sentada sobre las muchas aguas;
2 With her the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and those who dwell on the earth have become drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
Con los cuales los reyes de la tierra han fornicado, y los que están en la tierra se han embriagado con él vino de su fornicación.
3 So he carried me away in the Spirit to a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.
Y me llevó en el Espíritu al desierto; y vi a una mujer sentada sobre una bestia roja y brillante, llena de nombres de blasfemia, que tenía siete cabezas y diez cuernos,
4 The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls. She held in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filth of her fornication.
Y la mujer estaba vestida de púrpura y de un rojo vivo, con adornos de oro y piedras preciosas y perlas; y en su mano había una copa de oro llena de maldades y la inmundicia de sus inmoralidades sexuales;
5 A mysterious name was written on her forehead: “Babylon the great, the mother of prostitutes and of the abominations of the earth.”
Y en su frente había un nombre escrito, un misterio, BABILONIA LA GRANDE, LA MADRE DE LAS RAMERAS Y DE LAS ABOMINACIONES DE LA TIERRA.
6 And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I was greatly amazed.
Y vi a la mujer ebria con la sangre de los santos, y de la sangre de los mártires por causa de Jesús; Y cuando la vi, me invadió una gran maravilla.
7 But the angel said to me, “Why are yoʋ so amazed? I will tell yoʋ the mystery of the woman and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her.
Y el ángel me dijo: ¿Por qué te sorprendes? Yo te diré el misterio de la mujer y de la bestia en que está sentada, que tiene las siete cabezas y los diez cuernos.
8 The beast that yoʋ saw was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss and go to destruction. Those who dwell on the earth, whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will be amazed when they see that the beast was and is not and is to come. (Abyssos g12)
La bestia que viste, era, y no es; y está a punto de salir de las grandes profundidades y entrar en la destrucción. Y aquellos que están en la tierra, cuyos nombres no han sido puestos en el libro de la vida desde el principio, estarán maravillados cuando vean a la bestia, que era, y no es, y volverá a venir. (Abyssos g12)
9 This calls for a mind that has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits.
Aquí está la mente que tiene sabiduría. Las siete cabezas son siete montes, sobre los cuales está sentada la mujer.
10 They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and another has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for only a little while.
Y son siete reyes; los cinco han llegado a su fin, el uno es, el otro no ha llegado; y cuando venga, solo será por un breve tiempo.
11 The beast that was and is not, is an eighth king. Yet he is one of the seven and is on his way to destruction.
Y la bestia que era y no es, es el octavo, y es de los siete; y él entra en la destrucción.
12 The ten horns that yoʋ saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they will receive authority as kings for one hour with the beast.
Y los diez cuernos que viste son diez reyes, a los cuales aún no se les ha dado reino; pero se les da autoridad como reyes, con la bestia, durante una hora.
13 These kings have one mind and will give their power and authority to the beast.
Estos tienen un solo propósito, y le dan su poder y autoridad a la bestia.
14 They will make war with the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them because he is the Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called, chosen, and faithful.”
Estos pelearán contra el Cordero, y el Cordero los vencerá, porque él es Señor de señores y Rey de reyes; y los que están con él son llamados, marcados y fieles.
15 Then the angel said to me, “The waters yoʋ saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.
Y él me dijo: Las aguas que viste, donde está sentada la ramera, son pueblos, multitudes, naciones y lenguas.
16 The beast and the ten horns yoʋ saw will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.
Y los diez cuernos que viste en la bestia, éstos aborrecerán a la mujer, y la dejarán desolada y desnuda y comerán su carne, y la quemarán con fuego.
17 For God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing their kingdom over to the beast until the words of God are fulfilled.
Porque Dios ha puesto en sus corazones el hacer su propósito, y ser de una sola mente, dando su reino a la bestia, hasta que las palabras de Dios se hayan cumplido.
18 As for the woman yoʋ saw, she is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.”
Y la mujer que viste es la gran ciudad que reina sobre los reyes de la tierra.
