Matthew 7
1 “Do not judge, so that you will not be judged.
“Başkasını yargılamayın ki, siz de yargılanmayasınız.
2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.
Çünkü nasıl yargılarsanız öyle yargılanacaksınız. Hangi ölçekle verirseniz, aynı ölçekle alacaksınız.
3 Why do yoʋ see the speck in yoʋr brother's eye, but do not consider the beam in yoʋr own eye?
Sen neden kardeşinin gözündeki çöpü görürsün de kendi gözündeki merteği farketmezsin?
4 Or how will yoʋ say to yoʋr brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of yoʋr eye,’ when there is a beam in yoʋr own eye?
Kendi gözünde mertek varken kardeşine nasıl, ‘İzin ver, gözündeki çöpü çıkarayım’ dersin?
5 Hypocrite! First take the beam out of yoʋr own eye, and then yoʋ will see clearly to take the speck out of yoʋr brother's eye.
Seni ikiyüzlü! Önce kendi gözündeki merteği çıkar, o zaman kardeşinin gözündeki çöpü çıkarmak için daha iyi görürsün.
6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them with their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.
“Kutsal olanı köpeklere vermeyin. İncilerinizi domuzların önüne atmayın. Yoksa bunları ayaklarıyla çiğnedikten sonra dönüp sizi parçalayabilirler.”
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.
“Dileyin, size verilecek; arayın, bulacaksınız; kapıyı çalın, size açılacaktır.
8 For everyone who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and for him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Çünkü her dileyen alır, arayan bulur, kapı çalana açılır.
9 Or what man is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone;
Hanginiz kendisinden ekmek isteyen oğluna taş verir?
10 and if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?
Ya da balık isterse yılan verir?
11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Sizler kötü yürekli olduğunuz halde çocuklarınıza güzel armağanlar vermeyi biliyorsanız, göklerdeki Babanız'ın, kendisinden dileyenlere güzel armağanlar vereceği çok daha kesin değil mi?
12 “Therefore whatever you wish that others would do to you, do the same also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
“İnsanların size nasıl davranmasını istiyorsanız, siz de onlara öyle davranın. Çünkü Kutsal Yasa'nın ve peygamberlerin söylediği budur.”
13 “Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
“Dar kapıdan girin. Çünkü yıkıma götüren kapı geniş ve yol enlidir. Bu kapıdan girenler çoktur.
14 How narrow is the gate, and restricted the way that leads to life, and there are few who find it!
Oysa yaşama götüren kapı dar, yol da çetindir. Bu yolu bulanlar azdır.”
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
“Sahte peygamberlerden sakının! Onlar size kuzu postuna bürünerek yaklaşırlar, ama özde yırtıcı kurtlardır.
16 By their fruits you will know them. Do people gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
Onları meyvelerinden tanıyacaksınız. Dikenli bitkilerden üzüm, devedikenlerinden incir toplanabilir mi?
17 In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit.
Bunun gibi, her iyi ağaç iyi meyve verir, kötü ağaç ise kötü meyve verir.
18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, neither can a bad tree produce good fruit.
İyi ağaç kötü meyve, kötü ağaç da iyi meyve veremez.
19 Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
İyi meyve vermeyen her ağaç kesilip ateşe atılır.
20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
Böylece sahte peygamberleri meyvelerinden tanıyacaksınız.
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father in heaven.
“Bana, ‘Ya Rab, ya Rab!’ diye seslenen herkes Göklerin Egemenliği'ne girmeyecek. Ancak göklerdeki Babam'ın isteğini yerine getiren girecektir.
22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in yoʋr name, and in yoʋr name cast out demons, and in yoʋr name do many miracles?’
O gün birçokları bana diyecek ki, ‘Ya Rab, ya Rab! Biz senin adınla peygamberlik etmedik mi? Senin adınla cinler kovmadık mı? Senin adınla birçok mucize yapmadık mı?’
23 Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.’
O zaman ben de onlara açıkça, ‘Sizi hiç tanımadım, uzak durun benden, ey kötülük yapanlar!’ diyeceğim.”
24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them I will compare to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
“İşte bu sözlerimi duyup uygulayan herkes, evini kaya üzerine kuran akıllı adama benzer.
25 The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
Yağmur yağar, seller basar, yeller eser, eve saldırır; ama ev yıkılmaz. Çünkü kaya üzerine kurulmuştur.
26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be compared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
Bu sözlerimi duyup da uygulamayan herkes, evini kum üzerine kuran budala adama benzer.
27 The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was its fall.”
Yağmur yağar, seller basar, yeller eser, evi sarsar. Ev yıkılır; yıkılışı da korkunç olur.”
28 When Jesus finished saying these things, the crowds were astonished at his teaching,
İsa konuşmasını bitirince, halk O'nun öğretişine şaşıp kaldı.
29 because he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.
Çünkü onlara kendi din bilginleri gibi değil, yetkili biri gibi öğretiyordu.
