Matthew 26
1 When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,
Und es geschah, als Jesus alle diese Reden vollendet hatte, sprach er zu seinen Jüngern:
2 “You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”
Ihr wisset, daß nach zwei Tagen das Passah ist, und der Sohn des Menschen wird überliefert, um gekreuzigt zu werden.
3 Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the courtyard of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,
Dann versammelten sich die Hohenpriester und die Ältesten des Volkes in den Hof des Hohenpriesters, der Kajaphas hieß,
4 and they plotted together to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.
und ratschlagten miteinander, auf daß sie Jesum mit List griffen und töteten.
5 But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be a riot among the people.”
Sie sagten aber: Nicht an dem Feste, auf daß nicht ein Aufruhr unter dem Volk entstehe.
6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
Als aber Jesus in Bethanien war, im Hause Simons, des Aussätzigen,
7 a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he reclined at the table.
kam ein Weib zu ihm, die ein Alabasterfläschchen mit sehr kostbarer Salbe hatte, und goß es auf sein Haupt, als er zu Tische lag.
8 When his disciples saw it, they were indignant and said, “Why this waste?
Als aber die Jünger es sahen, wurden sie unwillig und sprachen: Wozu diese Verschwendung?
9 This ointment could have been sold for a large sum, and the money could have been given to the poor.”
Denn dieses hätte um vieles verkauft und den Armen gegeben werden können.
10 Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you causing trouble for this woman? She has done a good deed to me.
Als aber Jesus es erkannte, sprach er zu ihnen: Was machet ihr dem Weibe Mühe? Denn sie hat ein gutes Werk an mir getan;
11 You always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.
denn die Armen habt ihr allezeit bei euch, mich aber habt ihr nicht allezeit.
12 She has put this ointment on my body to prepare me for burial.
Denn indem sie diese Salbe über meinen Leib geschüttet hat, hat sie es zu meinem Begräbnis getan.
13 Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial to her.”
Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wo irgend dieses Evangelium gepredigt werden wird in der ganzen Welt, wird auch von dem geredet werden, was diese getan hat, zu ihrem Gedächtnis.
14 Then one of the twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests
Dann ging einer von den Zwölfen, der Judas Iskariot genannt war, zu den Hohenpriestern und sprach:
15 and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him up to you?” So they set out for him thirty pieces of silver.
Was wollt ihr mir geben, und ich werde ihn euch überliefern? Sie aber stellten ihm dreißig Silberlinge fest.
16 And from then on he was looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus.
Und von da an suchte er Gelegenheit, auf daß er ihn überliefere.
17 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and said to him, “Where do yoʋ want us to make preparations for yoʋ to eat the Passover?”
An dem ersten Tage der ungesäuerten Brote aber traten die Jünger zu Jesu und sprachen: Wo willst du, daß wir dir bereiten, das Passah zu essen?
18 He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is near. I am going to keep the Passover with yoʋ, along with my disciples.”’”
Er aber sprach: Gehet in die Stadt zu dem und dem und sprechet zu ihm: Der Lehrer sagt: Meine Zeit ist nahe; bei dir halte ich das Passah mit meinen Jüngern.
19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.
Und die Jünger taten, wie Jesus ihnen befohlen hatte, und bereiteten das Passah.
20 When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the twelve.
Als es aber Abend geworden war, legte er sich mit den Zwölfen zu Tische.
21 As they were eating, he said, “Truly I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
Und während sie aßen, sprach er: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Einer von euch wird mich überliefern.
22 Greatly distressed, they began to say to him one after another, “Surely not I, Lord?”
Und sie wurden sehr betrübt und fingen an, ein jeder von ihnen zu ihm zu sagen:
23 Jesus answered, “The one who has dipped his hand with me into the dish will betray me.
Ich bin es doch nicht, Herr? Er aber antwortete und sprach: Der mit mir die Hand in die Schüssel eintaucht, dieser wird mich überliefern.
24 The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.”
Der Sohn des Menschen geht zwar dahin, wie über ihn geschrieben steht; wehe aber jenem Menschen, durch welchen der Sohn des Menschen überliefert wird! Es wäre jenem Menschen gut, wenn er nicht geboren wäre.
25 Then Judas, who betrayed him, replied, “Surely not I, Rabbi?” Jesus said to him, “Yoʋ have said it yoʋrself.”
Judas aber, der ihn überlieferte, antwortete und sprach: Ich bin es doch nicht, Rabbi? Er spricht zu ihm: Du hast es gesagt.
26 As they were eating, Jesus took the bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take and eat this bread; this is my body.”
Während sie aber aßen, nahm Jesus Brot, segnete, brach und gab es den Jüngern und sprach: Nehmet, esset; dieses ist mein Leib.
27 Then he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you,
Und er nahm [den] Kelch und dankte und gab ihnen denselben und sprach: Trinket alle daraus.
28 for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.
Denn dieses ist mein Blut, das des [neuen] Bundes, welches für viele vergossen wird zur Vergebung der Sünden.
29 But I tell you, from this point forward I will certainly not drink again from this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it with you anew in the kingdom of my Father.”
Ich sage euch aber, daß ich von nun an nicht mehr von diesem Gewächs des Weinstocks trinken werde, bis an jenem Tage, da ich es neu mit euch trinken werde in dem Reiche meines Vaters.
30 And after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Und als sie ein Loblied gesungen hatten, gingen sie hinaus nach dem Ölberg.
31 Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
Da spricht Jesus zu ihnen: Ihr werdet euch alle in dieser Nacht an mir ärgern; denn es steht geschrieben: “Ich werde den Hirten schlagen, und die Schafe der Herde werden zerstreut werden”.
32 But after I have been raised up, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”
Nachdem ich aber auferweckt sein werde, werde ich vor euch hingehen nach Galiläa.
33 Peter answered him, “Even if everyone else falls away because of yoʋ, I will never fall away.”
Petrus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Wenn sich alle an dir ärgern werden, ich werde mich niemals ärgern.
34 Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to yoʋ that on this night, before a rooster crows, yoʋ will deny me three times.”
Jesus sprach zu ihm: Wahrlich, ich sage dir, daß du in dieser Nacht, ehe der Hahn kräht, mich dreimal verleugnen wirst.
35 But Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with yoʋ, I will certainly not deny yoʋ.” And all the disciples said the same thing.
Petrus spricht zu ihm: Selbst wenn ich mit dir sterben müßte, werde ich dich nicht verleugnen. Gleicherweise sprachen auch alle Jünger.
36 Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”
Dann kommt Jesus mit ihnen an einen Ort, genannt Gethsemane, und er spricht zu den Jüngern: Setzet euch hier, bis ich hingegangen bin und dort gebetet habe.
37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and distressed.
Und er nahm den Petrus und die zwei Söhne des Zebedäus mit, und fing an betrübt und beängstigt zu werden.
38 Then Jesus said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to the point of death; stay here and keep watch with me.”
Dann spricht er zu ihnen: Meine Seele ist sehr betrübt bis zum Tode; bleibet hier und wachet mit mir.
39 And going a little farther, he fell on his face and prayed, “My Father, if possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as yoʋ will.”
Und er ging ein wenig weiter und fiel auf sein Angesicht und betete und sprach: Mein Vater, wenn es möglich ist, so gehe dieser Kelch an mir vorüber; doch nicht wie ich will, sondern wie du willst.
40 Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “So you could not keep watch with me for one hour?
Und er kommt zu den Jüngern und findet sie schlafend; und er spricht zu Petrus: also nicht eine Stunde vermochtet ihr mit mir zu wachen?
41 Keep watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Wachet und betet, auf daß ihr nicht in Versuchung kommet; der Geist zwar ist willig, das Fleisch aber schwach.
42 Again, he went away for a second time and prayed, “My Father, if this cup cannot pass from me unless I drink it, may yoʋr will be done.”
Wiederum, zum zweiten Male, ging er hin und betete und sprach: Mein Vater, wenn dieser Kelch nicht [an mir] vorübergehen kann, ohne daß ich ihn trinke, so geschehe dein Wille.
43 Then he came and found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy.
Und als er kam, fand er sie wiederum schlafend, denn ihre Augen waren beschwert.
44 So he left them and went away again and prayed for a third time, saying the same thing.
Und er ließ sie, ging wiederum hin, betete zum dritten Male und sprach dasselbe Wort.
45 Then he came to his disciples and said to them, “Sleep on now and take your rest! Behold, the hour has drawn near, and the Son of Man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.
Dann kommt er zu den Jüngern und spricht zu ihnen: So schlafet denn fort und ruhet aus; siehe, die Stunde ist nahe gekommen, und der Sohn des Menschen wird in Sünderhände überliefert.
46 Rise, let us go. Behold, my betrayer has drawn near.”
Stehet auf, laßt uns gehen; siehe, nahe ist gekommen, der mich überliefert.
47 While he was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came. With him was a large crowd with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and elders of the people.
Und während er noch redete, siehe, da kam Judas, einer der Zwölfe, und mit ihm eine große Volksmenge mit Schwertern und Stöcken, von den Hohenpriestern und Ältesten des Volkes.
48 Now his betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, he is the one; arrest him.”
Der ihn aber überlieferte, hatte ihnen ein Zeichen gegeben und gesagt: Welchen irgend ich küssen werde, der ist es; ihn greifet.
49 Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” And he kissed him.
Und alsbald trat er zu Jesu und sprach: Sei gegrüßt, Rabbi! und küßte ihn sehr.
50 Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have yoʋ come?” Then they came forward, took hold of Jesus, and arrested him.
Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Freund, wozu bist du gekommen! Dann traten sie herzu und legten die Hände an Jesum und griffen ihn.
51 And behold, one of the men with Jesus stretched out his hand, drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
Und siehe, einer von denen, die mit Jesu waren, streckte die Hand aus, zog sein Schwert und schlug den Knecht des Hohenpriesters und hieb ihm das Ohr ab.
52 Then Jesus said to him, “Put yoʋr sword back in its place, for all who take the sword will die by the sword.
Da spricht Jesus zu ihm: Stecke dein Schwert wieder an seinen Ort; denn alle, die das Schwert nehmen, werden durchs Schwert umkommen.
53 Or do yoʋ think that I cannot call on my Father right now, and he will provide me with more than twelve legions of angels?
Oder meinst du, daß ich nicht jetzt meinen Vater bitten könne, und er mir mehr als zwölf Legionen Engel stellen werde?
54 How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”
Wie sollten denn die Schriften erfüllt werden, daß es also geschehen muß?
55 In that hour Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out to arrest me with swords and clubs as you would against a robber? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me.
In jener Stunde sprach Jesus zu den Volksmengen: Seid ihr ausgezogen wie gegen einen Räuber mit Schwertern und Stöcken, mich zu fangen? Täglich saß ich bei euch, im Tempel lehrend, und ihr habt mich nicht gegriffen.
56 But all this has taken place so that the Scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
Aber dies alles ist geschehen, auf daß die Schriften der Propheten erfüllt würden. Da verließen ihn die Jünger alle und flohen.
57 Now those who had arrested Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
Die aber Jesum gegriffen hatten, führten ihn hinweg zu Kajaphas, dem Hohenpriester, wo die Schriftgelehrten und die Ältesten versammelt waren.
58 But Peter was following him at a distance, coming as far as the courtyard of the high priest. After going inside, he sat with the officers to see the outcome.
Petrus aber folgte ihm von ferne bis zu dem Hofe des Hohenpriesters und ging hinein und setzte sich zu den Dienern, um das Ende zu sehen.
59 Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole Sanhedrin were seeking false testimony against Jesus, so that they could put him to death,
Die Hohenpriester aber und die Ältesten und das ganze Synedrium suchten falsches Zeugnis wider Jesum, damit sie ihn zum Tode brächten;
60 but they did not find any. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they did not find any.
und sie fanden keines, wiewohl viele falsche Zeugen herzutraten. Zuletzt aber traten zwei falsche Zeugen herzu
61 But at last two false witnesses came forward and declared, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”
und sprachen: dieser sagte: Ich kann den Tempel Gottes abbrechen und in drei Tagen ihn aufbauen.
62 So the high priest stood up and said to him, “Do yoʋ make no answer? What are these men testifying against yoʋ?”
Und der Hohepriester stand auf und sprach zu ihm: Antwortest du nichts? Was zeugen diese wider dich?
63 But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest said to him, “I adjure yoʋ by the living God to tell us if yoʋ are the Christ, the Son of God.”
Jesus aber schwieg. Und der Hohepriester hob an und sprach zu ihm: Ich beschwöre dich bei dem lebendigen Gott, daß du uns sagest, ob du der Christus bist, der Sohn Gottes!
64 Jesus said to him, “Yoʋ have said it yoʋrself. Nevertheless I say to you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
Jesus spricht zu ihm: Du hast es gesagt. Doch ich sage euch: Von nun an werdet ihr den Sohn des Menschen sitzen sehen zur Rechten der Macht und kommen auf den Wolken des Himmels.
65 Then the high priest tore his garments and said, “He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, you have now heard his blasphemy.
Da zerriß der Hohepriester seine Kleider und sprach: Er hat gelästert; was bedürfen wir noch Zeugen? Siehe, jetzt habt ihr die Lästerung gehört.
66 What do you think?” They answered, “He deserves death.”
Was dünkt euch? Sie aber antworteten und sprachen:
67 Then they spit in his face and struck him. Others slapped him,
Er ist des Todes schuldig. Dann spieen sie ihm ins Angesicht und schlugen ihn mit Fäusten; etliche aber gaben ihm Backenstreiche
68 saying, “Prophesy to us, yoʋ Christ! Who is it that struck yoʋ?”
und sprachen: Weissage uns, Christus, wer ist es, der dich schlug?
69 Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him and said, “Yoʋ also were with Jesus the Galilean.”
Petrus aber saß draußen im Hofe; und es trat eine Magd zu ihm und sprach: Auch du warst mit Jesu, dem Galiläer.
70 But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what yoʋ are talking about!”
Er aber leugnete vor allen und sprach: Ich weiß nicht, was du sagst.
71 Then he went out to the gateway, and another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
Als er aber in das Tor hinausgegangen war, sah ihn eine andere; und sie spricht zu denen, die daselbst waren: Auch dieser war mit Jesu, dem Nazaräer.
72 But again he denied it with an oath: “I do not know the man.”
Und wiederum leugnete er mit einem Eide: Ich kenne den Menschen nicht!
73 After a little while, the people standing there came up and said to Peter, “Truly yoʋ also are one of them, for even yoʋr accent gives yoʋ away.”
Kurz nachher aber traten die Dastehenden herzu und sprachen zu Petrus: Wahrhaftig, auch du bist einer von ihnen, denn auch deine Sprache macht dich offenbar.
74 Then he began to invoke curses and to swear, saying, “I do not know the man.” And immediately a rooster crowed.
Da fing er an, sich zu verwünschen und zu schwören: Ich kenne den Menschen nicht! Und alsbald krähte der Hahn.
75 Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said to him: “Before a rooster crows, yoʋ will deny me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.
Und Petrus gedachte des Wortes Jesu, der [zu ihm] gesagt hatte: Ehe der Hahn kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen. Und er ging hinaus und weinte bitterlich.
