Matthew 26
1 When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,
১তখন যীশু এই সমস্ত কথা শেষ করলেন এবং তিনি তাঁর শিষ্যদের বললেন,
2 “You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”
২“তোমরা জান, দুই দিন পরে নিস্তারপর্ব্ব আসছে, আর মনুষ্যপুত্র ক্রুশে বিদ্ধ হবার জন্য সমর্পিত হবেন।”
3 Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the courtyard of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,
৩তখন প্রধান যাজকেরা ও লোকদের প্রাচীনেরা কায়াফা মহাযাজকের বাড়ির প্রাঙ্গণে একত্র হল,
4 and they plotted together to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.
৪আর এই ষড়যন্ত্র করল, যেন ছলে যীশুকে ধরে বধ করতে পারে।
5 But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be a riot among the people.”
৫কিন্তু তারা বলল, “পর্বের দিন নয়, যদি লোকদের মধ্যে গন্ডগোল বাধে।”
6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
৬যীশু তখন বৈথনিয়ায় শিমোনের বাড়িতে ছিলেন, যে একজন কুষ্ঠরোগী ছিল,
7 a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he reclined at the table.
৭তখন একটি মহিলা শ্বেত পাথরের পাত্রে খুব মূল্যবান সুগন্ধি তেল নিয়ে তাঁর কাছে এলো এবং তিনি খেতে বসলে তাঁর মাথায় সেই তেল ঢেলে দিল।
8 When his disciples saw it, they were indignant and said, “Why this waste?
৮কিন্তু এই সব দেখে শিষ্যেরা বিরক্ত হয়ে বললেন, “এ অপচয়ের কারণ কি?
9 This ointment could have been sold for a large sum, and the money could have been given to the poor.”
৯এই তেল অনেক টাকায় বিক্রি করে তা দরিদ্রদেরকে দেওয়া যেত।”
10 Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you causing trouble for this woman? She has done a good deed to me.
১০কিন্তু যীশু, এই সব বুঝতে পেরে তাঁদের বললেন, “এই মহিলাটিকে কেন দুঃখ দিচ্ছ? এ তো আমার জন্য ভালো কাজ করল।
11 You always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.
১১কারণ দরিদ্ররা তোমাদের কাছে সব দিন ই আছে, কিন্তু তোমরা আমাকে সবদিন পাবে না।
12 She has put this ointment on my body to prepare me for burial.
১২তাই আমার দেহের উপরে এই সুগন্ধি তেল ঢেলে দেওয়াতে এ আমার সমাধির উপযোগী কাজ করল।
13 Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial to her.”
১৩আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, সমস্ত জগতে যে কোন জায়গায় এই সুসমাচার প্রচারিত হবে, সেই জায়গায় এর এই কাজের কথাও একে মনে রাখার জন্য বলা হবে।”
14 Then one of the twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests
১৪তখন বারো জনের মধ্যে একজন, যাকে ঈষ্করিয়োতীয় যিহূদা বলা হয়, সে প্রধান যাজকদের কাছে গিয়ে বলল,
15 and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him up to you?” So they set out for him thirty pieces of silver.
১৫“আমাকে কি দিতে চান, বলুন, আমি তাঁকে আপনাদের হাতে সমর্পণ করব।” তারা তাকে ত্রিশটা রূপার মুদ্রা গুনে দিল।
16 And from then on he was looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus.
১৬আর সেই দিন থেকে সে তাঁকে ধরিয়ে দাওয়ার জন্য সুযোগ খুঁজতে লাগল।
17 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and said to him, “Where do yoʋ want us to make preparations for yoʋ to eat the Passover?”
১৭পরে তাড়ীশূন্য (খামির বিহীন) রুটি র পর্বের প্রথম দিন শিষ্যেরা যীশুর কাছে এসে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “আপনার জন্য আমরা কোথায় নিস্তারপর্ব্বের ভোজ প্রস্তুত করব? আপনার ইচ্ছা কি?”
18 He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is near. I am going to keep the Passover with yoʋ, along with my disciples.”’”
১৮তিনি বললেন, “তোমরা শহরের অমুক ব্যক্তির কাছে যাও, আর তাকে বল, গুরু বলছেন, আমার দিন সন্নিকট, আমি তোমারই বাড়িতে আমার শিষ্যদের সঙ্গে নিস্তারপর্ব্ব পালন করব।”
19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.
১৯তাতে শিষ্যেরা যীশুর আদেশ মতো কাজ করলেন, ও নিস্তারপর্ব্বের ভোজ প্রস্তুত করলেন।
20 When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the twelve.
২০পরে সন্ধ্যা হলে তিনি সেই বারো জন শিষ্যের সঙ্গে খেতে বসলেন।
21 As they were eating, he said, “Truly I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
২১আর তাঁদের খাওয়ার দিনের বললেন, “আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, তোমাদের মধ্যে একজন আমার সঙ্গে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করবে।”
22 Greatly distressed, they began to say to him one after another, “Surely not I, Lord?”
২২তখন তাঁরা অত্যন্ত দুঃখিত হলো এবং প্রত্যেক জন তাঁকে বলতে লাগলেন, “প্রভু, সে কি আমি?”
23 Jesus answered, “The one who has dipped his hand with me into the dish will betray me.
২৩তিনি বললেন, “যে আমার সঙ্গে খাবারপাত্রে হাত ডুবাল, সেই আমার সঙ্গে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করবে।”
24 The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.”
২৪মনুষ্যপুত্রের বিষয়ে যেমন লেখা আছে, তেমনি তিনি যাবেন, কিন্তু ধিক সেই ব্যক্তিকে, যার মাধ্যমে মনুষ্যপুত্রকে ধরিয়ে দেওয়া হবে, সেই মানুষের জন্ম না হলেই তার পক্ষে ভাল ছিল।
25 Then Judas, who betrayed him, replied, “Surely not I, Rabbi?” Jesus said to him, “Yoʋ have said it yoʋrself.”
২৫তখন যে তাঁকে ধরিয়ে দেবে, সেই যিহূদা বলল, “গুরু, সে কি আমি?” তিনি বললেন, “তুমিই বললে।”
26 As they were eating, Jesus took the bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take and eat this bread; this is my body.”
২৬পরে তাঁরা খাবার খাচ্ছেন, এমন দিনের যীশু রুটি নিয়ে ধন্যবাদ দিয়ে ভাঙলেন এবং শিষ্যদের দিলেন, আর বললেন, “নাও, খাও, এটা আমার শরীর।”
27 Then he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you,
২৭পরে তিনি পানপাত্র নিয়ে ধন্যবাদ দিয়ে তাঁদের দিয়ে বললেন, “তোমরা সবাই এর থেকে পান কর,
28 for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.
২৮কারণ এটা আমার রক্ত, নতুন নিয়মের রক্ত, যা অনেকের জন্য, পাপ ক্ষমার জন্য ঝরবে।”
29 But I tell you, from this point forward I will certainly not drink again from this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it with you anew in the kingdom of my Father.”
২৯আর আমি তোমাদের বলছি, “এখন থেকে সেই দিন পর্যন্ত আমি এই আঙুরের রস পান করব না, যত দিন না আমি আমার পিতার রাজ্যে প্রবেশ করি ও তোমাদের সাথে নতুন আঙুরের রস পান করি।”
30 And after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
৩০পরে তাঁরা প্রশংসা গান করতে করতে, জৈতুন পর্বতে গেলেন।
31 Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
৩১তখন যীশু তাঁদের বললেন, “এই রাতে তোমরা সবাই আমাতে বাধা পাবে (অর্থাৎ তোমরা আমাকে ত্যাগ করবে),” কারণ লেখা আছে, “আমি মেষ পালককে আঘাত করব, তাতে মেষেরা চারিদিকে ছড়িয়ে পড়বে।”
32 But after I have been raised up, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”
৩২কিন্তু আমি মৃত্যু থেকে জীবিত হবার পরে আমি তোমাদের আগে গালীলে যাব।
33 Peter answered him, “Even if everyone else falls away because of yoʋ, I will never fall away.”
৩৩পিতর তাঁকে বললেন, “যদি সবাই আপনাকে ছেড়েও চলে যায়, আমি কখনও ছাড়বনা।”
34 Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to yoʋ that on this night, before a rooster crows, yoʋ will deny me three times.”
৩৪যীশু তাঁকে বললেন, “আমি তোমাকে সত্যি বলছি, এই রাতে মোরগ ডাকার আগে তুমি তিনবার আমাকে অস্বীকার করবে।”
35 But Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with yoʋ, I will certainly not deny yoʋ.” And all the disciples said the same thing.
৩৫পিতর তাঁকে বললেন, “যদি আপনার সঙ্গে মরতেও হয়, তবু কোন মতেই আপনাকে অস্বীকার করব না।” সেই রকম সব শিষ্যই বললেন।
36 Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”
৩৬তখন যীশু তাঁদের সঙ্গে গেৎশিমানী নামে এক জায়গায় গেলেন, আর তাঁর শিষ্যদের বললেন, “আমি যতক্ষণ ওখানে গিয়ে প্রার্থনা করি, ততক্ষণ তোমরা এখানে বসে থাক।”
37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and distressed.
৩৭পরে তিনি পিতরকে ও সিবদিয়ের দুই ছেলেকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে গেলেন, আর দুঃখার্ত্ত ও ব্যাকুল হতে লাগলেন।
38 Then Jesus said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to the point of death; stay here and keep watch with me.”
৩৮তখন তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, “আমার প্রাণ মরণ পর্যন্ত দুঃখার্ত্ত হয়েছে, তোমরা এখানে থাক, আমার সঙ্গে জেগে থাক।”
39 And going a little farther, he fell on his face and prayed, “My Father, if possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as yoʋ will.”
৩৯পরে তিনি একটু আগে গিয়ে উপুড় হয়ে পড়ে প্রার্থনা করে বললেন, “হে আমার পিতা, যদি এটা সম্ভব হয়, তবে এই দুঃখের পানপাত্র আমার কাছে থেকে দূরে যাক, আমার ইচ্ছামত না হোক, কিন্তু তোমার ইচ্ছামত হোক।”
40 Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “So you could not keep watch with me for one hour?
৪০পরে তিনি সেই শিষ্যদের কাছে গিয়ে দেখলেন, তাঁরা ঘুমিয়ে পড়েছেন, আর তিনি পিতরকে বললেন, “একি? এক ঘন্টাও কি আমার সঙ্গে জেগে থাকতে তোমাদের শক্তি হল না?”
41 Keep watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
৪১জেগে থাক ও প্রার্থনা কর, যেন পরীক্ষায় না পড়, আত্মা ইচ্ছুক, কিন্তু শরীর দুর্বল।
42 Again, he went away for a second time and prayed, “My Father, if this cup cannot pass from me unless I drink it, may yoʋr will be done.”
৪২আবার তিনি দ্বিতীয়বার গিয়ে এই প্রার্থনা করলেন, “হে আমার পিতা, আমি পান না করলে যদি এই দুঃখকা পানপাত্র দূরে যেতে না পারে, তবে তোমার ইচ্ছা পূর্ণ হোক।”
43 Then he came and found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy.
৪৩পরে তিনি আবার এসে দেখলেন, তাঁরা ঘুমিয়ে পড়েছেন, কারণ তাঁদের চোখ ঘুমে ভারী হয়ে পড়েছিল।
44 So he left them and went away again and prayed for a third time, saying the same thing.
৪৪আর তিনি আবার তাঁদের ছেড়ে তৃতীয় বার আগের মতো কথা বলে প্রার্থনা করলেন।
45 Then he came to his disciples and said to them, “Sleep on now and take your rest! Behold, the hour has drawn near, and the Son of Man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.
৪৫তখন তিনি শিষ্যদের কাছে এসে বললেন, “এখনও কি তোমরা ঘুমাচ্ছ এবং বিশ্রাম করছ?, দেখ, দিন উপস্থিত, মনুষ্যপুত্রকে পাপীদের হাতে ধরিয়ে দেওয়া হচ্ছে।”
46 Rise, let us go. Behold, my betrayer has drawn near.”
৪৬উঠ, আমরা যাই, এই দেখ, যে ব্যক্তি আমাকে সমর্পণ করবে, সে কাছে এসেছে।
47 While he was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came. With him was a large crowd with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and elders of the people.
৪৭তিনি যখন কথা বলছিলেন, দেখ, যিহূদা, সেই বারো জনের একজন, এল এবং তার সঙ্গে অনেক লোক, তরোয়াল ও লাঠি নিয়ে প্রধান যাজকদের ও প্রাচীনদের কাছ থেকে এলো।
48 Now his betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, he is the one; arrest him.”
৪৮যে তাঁকে সমর্পণ করছিল, সে তাদের এই সংকেত বলেছিল, “আমি যাকে চুমু দেব, তিনিই সেই ব্যক্তি, তোমরা তাকে ধরবে।”
49 Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” And he kissed him.
৪৯সে তখনই যীশুর কাছে গিয়ে বলল, “গুরু, নমস্কার, আর সে তাঁকে চুমু দিল।”
50 Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have yoʋ come?” Then they came forward, took hold of Jesus, and arrested him.
৫০যীশু তাকে বললেন, “বন্ধু, যা করতে এসেছ, তা কর।” তখন তারা কাছে এসে যীশুর উপরে হস্তক্ষেপ করল ও তাঁকে ধরল।
51 And behold, one of the men with Jesus stretched out his hand, drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
৫১আর দেখ, যীশুর সঙ্গীদের মধ্যে এক ব্যক্তি হাত বাড়িয়ে তরোয়াল বার করলেন এবং মহাযাজকের দাসকে আঘাত করে তার একটা কান কেটে ফেললেন।
52 Then Jesus said to him, “Put yoʋr sword back in its place, for all who take the sword will die by the sword.
৫২তখন যীশু তাঁকে বললেন, “তোমার তরোয়াল যেখানে ছিল সেখানে রাখ, কারণ যারা তরোয়াল ব্যবহার করে, তারা তরোয়াল দিয়েই ধ্বংস হবে।”
53 Or do yoʋ think that I cannot call on my Father right now, and he will provide me with more than twelve legions of angels?
৫৩আর তুমি কি মনে কর যে, যদি আমি আমার পিতার কাছে অনুরোধ করি তবে তিনি কি এখনই আমার জন্য বারোটা বাহিনীর থেকেও বেশি দূত পাঠিয়ে দেবেন না?
54 How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”
৫৪কিন্তু তা করলে কেমন করে শাস্ত্রের এই বাণীগুলি পূর্ণ হবে যে, এমন অবশ্যই হবে?
55 In that hour Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out to arrest me with swords and clubs as you would against a robber? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me.
৫৫সেই দিনে যীশু লোকদেরকে বললেন, “লোকে যেমন দস্যু ধরতে যায়, তেমনি কি তোমরা তরোয়াল ও লাঠি নিয়ে আমাকে ধরতে এসেছো? আমি প্রতিদিন ঈশ্বরের মন্দিরে বসে উপদেশ দিয়েছি, তখন তো আমাকে ধরলে না।”
56 But all this has taken place so that the Scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
৫৬কিন্তু এ সমস্ত ঘটল, যেন ভাববাদীদের লেখা ভাববাণীগুলি পূর্ণ হয়। তখন শিষ্যেরা সবাই তাঁকে ছেড়ে পালিয়ে গেলেন।
57 Now those who had arrested Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
৫৭আর যারা যীশুকে ধরেছিল, তারা তাঁকে মহাযাজক কায়াফার কাছে নিয়ে গেল, সেই জায়গায় ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষকেরা ও প্রাচীনেরা সমবেত হয়েছিল।
58 But Peter was following him at a distance, coming as far as the courtyard of the high priest. After going inside, he sat with the officers to see the outcome.
৫৮আর পিতর দূরে থেকে তাঁর পিছনে পিছনে মহাযাজকের প্রাঙ্গণ পর্যন্ত গেলেন এবং শেষে কি হয়, তা দেখার জন্য ভিতরে গিয়ে পাহারাদারদের সঙ্গে বসলেন।
59 Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole Sanhedrin were seeking false testimony against Jesus, so that they could put him to death,
৫৯তখন প্রধান যাজকরা এবং সমস্ত মহাসভা যীশুকে বধ করার জন্য তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে মিথ্যা প্রমাণ খুঁজতে লাগল,
60 but they did not find any. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they did not find any.
৬০কিন্তু অনেক মিথ্যাসাক্ষী এসে জুটলেও, তারা কিছুই পেল না।
61 But at last two false witnesses came forward and declared, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”
৬১অবশেষে দুই জন এসে বলল, “এই ব্যক্তি বলেছিল, আমি ঈশ্বরের মন্দির ভেঙে, তা আবার তিন দিনের র মধ্যে গেঁথে তুলতে পারি।”
62 So the high priest stood up and said to him, “Do yoʋ make no answer? What are these men testifying against yoʋ?”
৬২তখন মহাযাজক উঠে দাঁড়িয়ে তাঁকে বললেন, “তুমি কি কিছুই উত্তর দেবে না? তোমার বিরুদ্ধে এরা কিসব বলছে?”
63 But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest said to him, “I adjure yoʋ by the living God to tell us if yoʋ are the Christ, the Son of God.”
৬৩কিন্তু যীশু চুপ করে থাকলেন। মহাযাজক তাঁকে বললেন, “আমি তোমাকে জীবন্ত ঈশ্বরের নামে দিব্যি করছি, আমাদেরকে বল দেখি, তুমি কি সেই খ্রীষ্ট, ঈশ্বরের পুত্র?”
64 Jesus said to him, “Yoʋ have said it yoʋrself. Nevertheless I say to you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
৬৪যীশু এর উত্তরে বললেন, “তুমি নিজেই বললে, আর আমি তোমাদের বলছি, এখন থেকে তোমরা মনুষ্যপুত্রকে পরাক্রমের (সর্বশক্তিমান ঈশ্বরের) ডান পাশে বসে থাকতে এবং আকাশের মেঘরথে আসতে দেখবে।”
65 Then the high priest tore his garments and said, “He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, you have now heard his blasphemy.
৬৫তখন মহাযাজক তাঁর বস্ত্র ছিঁড়ে বললেন, “এ ঈশ্বরনিন্দা করল, আর প্রমাণে আমাদের কি প্রয়োজন? দেখ, এখন তোমরা ঈশ্বরনিন্দা শুনলে,
66 What do you think?” They answered, “He deserves death.”
৬৬তোমরা কি মনে কর?” তারা বলল, “এ মৃত্যুর যোগ্য।”
67 Then they spit in his face and struck him. Others slapped him,
৬৭তখন তারা তাঁর মুখে থুথু দিল ও তাঁকে ঘুষি মারল,
68 saying, “Prophesy to us, yoʋ Christ! Who is it that struck yoʋ?”
৬৮আর কেউ কেউ তাঁকে আঘাত করে বলল, “রে খ্রীষ্ট, আমাদের কাছে ভাববাণী বল, কে তোকে মারল?”
69 Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him and said, “Yoʋ also were with Jesus the Galilean.”
৬৯এদিকে পিতর যখন বাইরে উঠোনে বসেছিলেন, তখন আর একজন দাসী তাঁর কাছে এসে বলল, “তুমিও সেই গালীলীয় যীশুর সঙ্গে ছিলে।”
70 But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what yoʋ are talking about!”
৭০কিন্তু তিনি সবার সামনে অস্বীকার করে বললেন, “তুমি কি বলছ আমি বুঝতে পারছি না।”
71 Then he went out to the gateway, and another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
৭১তিনি দরজার কাছে গেলে আর এক দাসী তাঁকে দেখতে পেয়ে লোকদেরকে বলল, “এ ব্যক্তি সেই নাসরতীয় যীশুর সঙ্গে ছিল।”
72 But again he denied it with an oath: “I do not know the man.”
৭২তিনি আবার অস্বীকার করলেন, দিব্যি করে বললেন, “আমি সে ব্যক্তিকে চিনি না।”
73 After a little while, the people standing there came up and said to Peter, “Truly yoʋ also are one of them, for even yoʋr accent gives yoʋ away.”
৭৩আরও কিছুক্ষণ পরে, যারা কাছে দাঁড়িয়েছিল, তারা এসে পিতরকে বলল, “সত্যিই তুমিও তাদের একজন, কারণ তোমার ভাষাই তোমার পরিচয় দিচ্ছে।”
74 Then he began to invoke curses and to swear, saying, “I do not know the man.” And immediately a rooster crowed.
৭৪তখন তিনি অভিশাপের সঙ্গে শপথ করে বলতে লাগলেন, “আমি সেই ব্যক্তিকে চিনি না।” তখনই মোরগ ডেকে উঠল।
75 Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said to him: “Before a rooster crows, yoʋ will deny me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.
৭৫তাতে যীশু এই যে কথা বলেছিলেন, মোরগ ডাকার আগে তুমি তিনবার আমাকে অস্বীকার করবে, তা পিতরের মনে পড়ল এবং তিনি বাইরে গিয়ে অত্যন্ত করুন ভাবে কাঁদলেন।
