Matthew 13
1 On that day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea,
ⲁ̅ϩⲙⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϩⲙⲡⲏⲓ ⲁϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲁⲧⲛⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ.
2 and large crowds gathered around him. So he got into the boat and sat down, while the entire crowd stood on the shore.
ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓϩⲉⲛⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲁⲗⲉ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲓ ⲛϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ. ⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲛⲉϥⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲡⲉ ϩⲓⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ.
3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying, “Behold, a sower went out to sow.
ⲅ̅ⲁϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϩⲙⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲛϩⲉⲛⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲥϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲉⲧϫⲟ ⲉϫⲟ.
4 As he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them.
ⲇ̅ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϫⲟ. ϩⲟⲓⲛⲉ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ϩⲁⲧⲛⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ. ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓⲛϩⲁⲗⲁⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲟⲙⲟⲩ.
5 Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and they sprang up immediately because they had no depth of soil.
ⲉ̅ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲛⲙⲙⲁ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲣⲁ. ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲛⲕⲁϩ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱϥ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲩϯⲟⲩⲱ ϫⲉ ⲙⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛⲕⲁϩ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲟⲩ.
6 But when the sun rose, they were scorched. And because they had no root, they withered away.
ⲋ̅ⲡⲣⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϣⲁ ⲁⲩⲣⲕⲁⲩⲙⲁ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲙⲛⲛⲟⲩⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩϣⲟⲟⲩⲉ.
7 Other seeds fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them.
ⲍ̅ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲛⲛϣⲟⲛⲧⲉ. ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϭⲓⲛϣⲟⲛⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲟϭⲧⲟⲩ.
8 But other seeds fell on good soil and produced fruit, some a hundred, some sixty, and some thirty times more than what was sown.
ⲏ̅ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲙⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲁⲩϯⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ. ⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲁϥϯϣⲉ. ⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϯⲥⲉ. ⲕⲉⲧ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϯⲙⲁⲁⲃ.
9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
ⲑ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲟⲩⲛⲧϥⲙⲁⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ.
10 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Why do yoʋ speak to the people in parables?”
ⲓ̅ⲁⲩϯⲡⲉⲩⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲕϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϩⲛϩⲉⲛⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ.
11 Jesus answered them, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁⲁⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲉⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲙⲙⲩⲥⲧⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲛⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ. ⲛⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲧⲁⲁⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ.
12 For whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲟⲩⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϥⲣϩⲟⲩⲟ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲙⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲡⲕⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϥⲓⲧϥ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ.
13 That is why I speak to them in parables, because ‘they see but do not perceive, and they hear but do not listen or understand.’
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϩⲛϩⲉⲛⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ. ϫⲉ ⲉⲩⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲥⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲛ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲉⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲛⲥⲉⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲁⲛ. ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲥⲉⲛⲟⲉⲓ ⲁⲛ.
14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which says, ‘Yoʋ will hear but never understand, and you will see but never perceive.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲥⲛⲁϫⲱⲕ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓⲧⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲓⲁ ⲛⲏⲥⲁⲓⲁⲥ ⲉⲧϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ϩⲛⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲧⲙⲛⲟⲓ. ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲛⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲧⲙⲉⲓⲱⲣϩ.
15 For the heart of this people has become calloused; with their ears they have barely heard, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts and turn back, and I would heal them.’
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲁϥⲛϣⲟⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛϭⲓⲡϩⲏⲧ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ ϩⲛⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁⲁϫⲉ ϩⲛⲟⲩϩⲣⲟϣ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϣⲧⲁⲙ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲃⲁⲗ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲛⲁⲩ ϩⲛⲛⲉⲩⲃⲁⲗ ⲛⲥⲉⲥⲱⲧⲙ ϩⲙⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁⲁϫⲉ. ⲛⲥⲉⲛⲟⲓ ϩⲙⲡⲉⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲥⲉⲕⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲧⲁⲧⲁⲗϭⲟⲟⲩ.
16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲁⲓⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲃⲁⲗ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲙⲁⲁϫⲉ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲥⲱⲧⲙ.
17 For truly I say to you, many prophets and righteous people desired to see the things you see but did not see them, and to hear the things you hear but did not hear them.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ. ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲁϩ ⲙⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϩⲓⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲉⲡⲉⲓⲑⲩⲙⲉⲓ ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ.
18 “So hear what the parable of the sower means:
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲧⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲙⲡⲉⲧϫⲟ.
19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲉⲛϥⲛⲟⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ϣⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲡⲟⲛⲏⲣⲟⲥ ⲛϥⲧⲱⲣⲡ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲟϥ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲙⲡⲉϥϩⲏⲧ. ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲟϥ ϩⲁⲧⲛⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ.
20 The seed sown on rocky ground is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy.
ⲕ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϫⲛⲙⲙⲁ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲣⲁ. ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲧϫⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϩⲛⲟⲩⲣⲁϣⲉ.
21 Yet he has no root in himself, but is only temporary. When tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, he immediately falls away.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲙⲛⲛⲟⲩⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲟⲩⲡⲣⲟⲥⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲡⲉ. ⲉⲣϣⲁⲛⲟⲩⲑⲗⲓⲯⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ. ⲏ ⲟⲩⲇⲓⲱⲅⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡϣⲁϫⲉ. ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϣⲁϥⲥⲕⲁⲛⲇⲁⲗⲓⲍⲉ.
22 The seed sown among the thorns is he who hears the word, but the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϫⲛⲛϣⲟⲛⲧⲉ. ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲡϣⲁϫⲉ. ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲁⲓⲱⲛ ⲙⲛⲧⲁⲡⲁⲧⲏ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲙⲙⲁⲟ ⲱϭⲧ ⲙⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁϫⲛⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ. (aiōn g165)

ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϫⲙⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲛⲟⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ. ⲉϥϯⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ. ⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲉϥⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛϣⲉ. ⲕⲉⲧ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲥⲉ. ⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲁⲃ.
24 Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven can be compared to a person who sowed good seed in his field,
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲁϥⲕⲱ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛⲕⲉⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲉⲥⲧⲛⲧⲱⲛ ⲛϭⲓⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲛⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲁϥϫⲟ ⲛⲟⲩϭⲣⲟϭ ⲉⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛⲧⲉϥⲥⲱϣⲉ.
25 but while people were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and then went away.
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ϩⲙⲡⲧⲣⲉⲩⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ. ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲉϥϫⲁϫⲉ ⲁϥϫⲟ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲉⲛⲧⲏϭ ⲛⲧⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲥⲟⲩⲟ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ.
26 When the plants sprouted and produced grain, the tares also appeared.
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϯⲟⲩⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲉⲭⲟⲣⲧⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ. ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓⲛⲉⲛⲧⲏϭ.
27 So the servants of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did yoʋ not sow good seed in yoʋr field? How then does it have tares?’
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩϯⲡⲉⲩⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓⲛϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲉⲡⲉⲩϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ. ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲏ ⲛⲟⲩϭⲣⲟϭ ⲉⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲕϫⲟϥ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛⲧⲉⲕⲥⲱϣⲉ. ⲛⲧⲁϥϩⲉ ϭⲉ (ⲉ)ⲉⲛⲧⲏϭ ⲧⲱⲛ.
28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him, ‘Do yoʋ want us to go and gather them up?’
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲟⲩϫⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲓ. ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ. ϫⲉ ⲕⲟⲩⲱϣ ϭⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲛⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲧⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩϩⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ.
29 He said, ‘No, lest in gathering the tares you uproot the wheat with them.
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲙⲏⲡⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲛⲧⲏϭ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲱⲣⲕ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲙⲡⲕⲉⲥⲟⲩⲟ.
30 Let them both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “Gather the tares first and bind them into bundles to burn them up, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”
ⲗ̅ⲁⲗⲱⲧⲛ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲉⲁⲓⲁⲓ ϩⲓⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ ϣⲁⲡⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲙⲡⲱϩⲥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲙⲡⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲙⲡⲱϩⲥ ϯⲛⲁϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲛⲁϫⲁⲓⲟϩⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲏϭ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲟⲣⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲛϣⲟⲗ ⲉⲡⲣⲟⲕϩⲟⲩ. ⲡⲉⲥⲟⲩⲟ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩϩϥ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲁⲡⲟⲑⲏⲕⲏ.
31 He presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field.
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ⲁϥⲕⲱ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲟⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛⲕⲉⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲉⲥⲧⲛⲧⲱⲛ ⲛϭⲓⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲛⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲩⲃⲗⲃⲓⲗⲉ ⲛϣⲗⲧⲏⲙ. ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉⲁⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ϫⲓⲧⲥ ⲁϥϫⲟ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛⲧⲉϥⲥⲱϣⲉ.
32 Although it is the smallest of all seeds, it grows larger than the other garden plants and becomes a tree, and the birds of the sky come and nest in its branches.”
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲧⲁⲓ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲉⲩⲕⲟⲩⲓ ⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲉϭⲣⲟⲟϭ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ. ϩⲟⲧⲁⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲥϣⲁⲛⲁⲩⲝⲁⲛⲉ ϣⲁⲥⲣⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲟⲧⲉ. ⲛⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛϣⲏⲛ. ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲛⲥⲉⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓⲛϩⲁⲗⲁⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲡⲉ ⲛⲥⲉⲟⲩⲱϩ ϩⲛⲛⲉⲥⲕⲗⲁⲇⲟⲥ.
33 He spoke to them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour until it had all been leavened.”
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲁϥϫⲱ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲕⲉⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲉⲥⲧⲛⲧⲱⲛ ⲛϭⲓⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲛⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲩⲑⲁⲃ ⲉⲁⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲓⲧϥ ⲁⲥϩⲟⲡϥ ϩⲛϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛϣⲓ ⲛⲛⲟⲉⲓⲧ ϣⲁⲛⲧⲉϥϫⲓⲑⲁⲃ ⲧⲏⲣϥ.
34 All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables; he did not speak to them without using a parable.
ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϭⲓⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϩⲛϩⲉⲛⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲙⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϫⲙⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲙⲡⲉϥϫⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ.
35 This was to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet: “I will open my mouth in parables; I will declare things hidden from the foundation of the world.”
ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲟⲟϥ ϩⲓⲧⲙⲡⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ϯⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲉⲣⲱⲓ ϩⲛϩⲉⲛⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲧⲁϫⲱ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϩⲏⲡ ϫⲓⲛⲉⲡϣⲁⲥⲱⲛⲧ ⲙⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ.
36 Then Jesus left the crowds and went into the house, and his disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.”
ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲕⲱ ⲛⲙⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲏⲓ. ⲁⲩϯⲡⲉⲩⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲗ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲏϭ ⲛⲧⲥⲱϣⲉ.
37 So he said to them in response, “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.
ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧϫⲟ ⲙⲡⲉϭⲣⲟϭ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ.
38 The field is the world, and the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom. The tares are the sons of the evil one,
ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲧⲥⲱϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ. ⲡⲉϭⲣⲟϭ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲛⲉ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ. ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲏϭ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲡⲟⲛⲏⲣⲟⲥ.
39 and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. (aiōn g165)

41 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all stumbling blocks and those who practice lawlessness.
ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ. ⲛⲥⲉⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛⲧⲉϥⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲛⲛⲉⲥⲕⲁⲛⲇⲁⲗⲟⲛ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ.
42 They will throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲥⲉⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉϩⲣⲱ ⲛⲥⲁⲧⲉ. ⲉϥⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲣⲓⲙⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡϭⲁϩϭϩ ⲛⲛⲟⲃϩⲉ.
43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲣⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲏ ϩⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲉⲓⲱⲧ. ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲟⲩⲛⲧϥⲙⲁⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ.
44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid again, and in his joy he went and sold all that he had and bought the field.
ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ⲉⲥⲧⲛⲧⲱⲛ ⲛϭⲓⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲛⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲩⲁϩⲟ ⲉϥϩⲏⲡ ϩⲛⲧⲥⲱϣⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲁⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥϩⲟⲡϥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙⲡⲉϥⲣⲁϣⲉ. ϣⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲛϥϯ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲕⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϥϣⲱⲡ ⲛⲧⲥⲱϣⲉ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ.
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls.
ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ⲡⲁⲗⲓⲛ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲥⲧⲛⲧⲱⲛ ⲛϭⲓⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲛⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲉϣⲱⲧ ⲉϥϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲁϩⲉⲛⲱⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩ.
46 When he found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.
ⲙ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲱⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲉ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲉⲥⲟⲩⲛⲧϥ. ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲁϥϯ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲕⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲁϥϣⲟⲡϥ ⲛⲁϥ.
47 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea, catching all kinds of fish.
ⲙ̅ⲍ̅ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲛⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲥⲧⲛⲧⲱⲛ ⲉⲩⲁⲃⲱ ⲉⲁⲩⲛⲟϫⲥ ⲉⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ. ⲉⲁⲥⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲅⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲧⲏⲃⲧ.
48 When it was full, the fishermen drew it to shore. Then they sat down and put the good fish into containers, but the bad ones they threw away.
ⲙ̅ⲏ̅ⲧⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲥⲙⲟⲩϩ ⲁⲩⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ. ⲁⲩⲕⲱⲧϥ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩ ⲉⲛⲉⲩϩⲛⲁⲁⲩ. ⲛⲉⲑⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the evil from the righteous (aiōn g165)

51 Jesus said to them, “Do you understand all these things?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.”
ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲟⲓ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ. ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ.
52 Then he said to them, “Every scribe that has been trained as a disciple for the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”
ⲛ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲅⲣⲁⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉⲩⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲁϥϫⲓⲥⲃⲱ ⲉⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲛⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲉϥⲧⲛⲧⲱⲛ ⲉⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲣⲙⲙⲁⲟ. ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙⲡⲉϥⲁϩⲟ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲃⲣⲣⲉ ⲙⲛϩⲉ(ⲛ)ⲁⲥ.
53 When Jesus had finished these parables, he departed from there.
ⲛ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲟⲩⲱ ⲛⲛⲉⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲁϥⲡⲱⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ.
54 Then he went to his hometown and taught the people in their synagogue. They were astonished and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?
ⲛ̅ⲇ̅ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲉϥϯⲙⲉ ⲁϥϯⲥⲱ ⲛⲁⲩ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛⲧⲉⲩⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ. ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲥⲉϫⲟⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲡⲁⲓ ϩⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲓⲥⲟⲫⲓⲁ ⲧⲱⲛ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲓϭⲟⲙ.
55 Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not his mother's name Mary, and are not his brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?
ⲛ̅ⲉ̅ⲙⲏ ⲙⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡϩⲁϣⲉ. ⲙⲏ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲙⲁⲁⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲛϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲓϩⲁⲙ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ. ⲙⲛⲓⲱⲥⲏⲥ. ⲙⲛⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ. ⲙⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲥ.
56 Are not all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?”
ⲛ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥⲥⲱⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲙⲏ ⲛⲥⲉϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϩⲁⲧⲏⲛ. ⲛⲧⲁⲡⲁⲓ ϭⲉ ϩⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲧⲱⲛ.
57 And they took offense at him. Then Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household.”
ⲛ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩⲥⲕⲁⲛⲇⲁⲗⲓⲍⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ. ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲙⲛⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲥⲏϣ ⲉⲓⲙⲏⲧⲉⲓ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛⲡⲉϥϯⲙⲉ ⲙⲙⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲙⲡⲉϥⲏⲓ.
58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.
ⲛ̅ⲏ̅ⲙⲡⲉϥⲣϩⲁϩ ⲛϭⲟⲙ ϩⲙⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲧⲉⲩⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ.
