Mark 8
1 In those days, when there was a very large crowd that had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples over and said to them,
Naqueles dias, havendo mui grande multidão, e não tendo que comer, Jesus chamou a si os seus discípulos, e disse-lhes:
2 “I have compassion on the crowd because they have stayed with me now for three days and have nothing to eat.
Tenho compaixão da multidão, porque há já três dias que estão comigo, e não tem que comer.
3 If I send them away to their homes without having eaten, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come from far away.”
E, se os deixar ir em jejum para suas casas, desfalecerão no caminho, porque alguns deles vieram de longe.
4 His disciples answered him, “How can anyone feed these people with bread here in the wilderness?”
E os seus discípulos responderam-lhe: de onde poderá alguém saciar estes de pão aqui no deserto?
5 He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.”
E perguntou-lhes: Quantos pães tendes? E disseram-lhe: Sete.
6 So he commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground, and taking the seven loaves, he gave thanks, broke them, and gave them to his disciples to distribute, and they set them before the crowd.
E ordenou à multidão que se assentasse no chão. E, tomando os sete pães, e tendo dado graças, partiu-os, e deu-os aos seus discípulos, para que lhos pusessem adiante, e puseram-nos adiante da multidão.
7 They also had a few small fish. After blessing the fish, Jesus told the disciples to set them before the crowd as well.
Tinham também uns poucos de peixinhos; e, tendo dado graças, ordenou que também lhos pusessem adiante.
8 The people ate and were filled, and the disciples picked up what was left over of the broken pieces, seven baskets full.
E comeram, e saciaram-se; e dos pedaços que sobejaram levantaram sete alcofas.
9 There were about four thousand men who had eaten. After sending them away,
E os que comeram eram quase quatro mil; e despediu-os.
10 Jesus immediately got into the boat with his disciples and went to the district of Dalmanutha.
E, entrando logo no barco com os seus discípulos, foi para as partes de Dalmanutha.
11 Then the Pharisees came and began to argue with Jesus, asking him for a sign from heaven, to test him.
E sairam os fariseus, e começaram a disputar com ele, pedindo-lhe, para o tentarem, um sinal do céu.
12 Sighing deeply in his spirit, he said, “Why does this generation ask for a sign? Truly I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.”
E, suspirando profundamente em seu espírito, disse: Porque pede esta geração um sinal? Em verdade vos digo que a esta geração não se dará sinal.
13 Then he left them, got into the boat again, and went away to the other side of the sea.
E, deixando-os, tornou a entrar no barco, e foi para a outra banda.
14 Now the disciples had forgotten to bring bread, and they had nothing with them in the boat except for one loaf.
E os seus discípulos se esqueceram de tomar pão, e no barco não tinham consigo senão um pão.
15 Then Jesus gave them strict orders, saying, “Watch out! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”
E ordenou-lhes, dizendo: olhai, guardai-vos do fermento dos fariseus e do fermento de Herodes.
16 So they discussed this with one another, saying, “He must have said this because we have no bread.”
E arrazoavam entre si, dizendo: É porque não temos pão.
17 Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you discussing the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive or understand? Are your hearts still hardened?
E Jesus, conhecendo isto, disse-lhes: Para que arrazoais, que não tendes pão? não considerastes, nem compreendestes ainda? tendes ainda o vosso coração endurecido?
18 Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear? Do you not remember?
Tendo olhos, não vêdes? e, tendo ouvidos, não ouvis? e não vos lembrais?
19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?” They said to him, “Twelve.”
Quando parti os cinco pães entre os cinco mil, quantos cestos cheios de pedaços levantastes? Disseram-lhe: Doze.
20 “And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?” They said, “Seven.”
E, quando parti os sete entre os quatro mil, quantas alcofas cheias de pedaços levantastes? E disseram-lhe: Sete.
21 Then he said to them, “How is it that you do not understand?”
E ele lhes disse: Como não entendeis ainda?
22 When Jesus came to Bethsaida, some people brought to him a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.
E chegou a Betsaida; e trouxeram-lhe um cego, e rogaram-lhe que o tocasse.
23 So he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then he spit on the man's eyes, laid his hands on him, and asked him if he saw anything.
E, tomando o cego pela mão, levou-o para fora da aldeia; e, cuspindo-lhe nos olhos, e impondo-lhe as mãos, perguntou-lhe se via alguma coisa.
24 The man looked up and said, “I can see people, but they look like trees walking around.”
E, levantando ele os olhos, disse: Vejo os homens; pois os vejo como árvores que andam.
25 So Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes again and had him look up. Then the man's sight was restored, and he saw everyone clearly.
Depois tornou a pôr-lhe as mãos nos olhos, e lhos fez levantar; e ficou restabelecido, e viu ao longe e distintamente a todos.
26 And Jesus sent him away to his house, saying, “Do not go into the village or tell anyone in the village what has happened.”
E mandou-o para sua casa, dizendo: Não entres na aldeia.
27 Then Jesus went on to the villages of Caesarea Philippi along with his disciples. On the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?”
E saiu Jesus e os seus discípulos para as as aldeias de Cesareia de Filipo; e no caminho perguntou aos seus discípulos, dizendo: Quem dizem os homens que eu sou?
28 They answered, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others say that yoʋ are one of the prophets.”
E eles responderam: João Batista; e outros, Elias; e outros, Um dos profetas.
29 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “Yoʋ are the Christ.”
E ele lhes disse: Porém vós quem dizeis que eu sou? E, respondendo Pedro, lhe disse: Tu és o Cristo.
30 And Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.
E admoestou-os, que a ninguém dissessem aquilo dele.
31 Then he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.
E começou a ensinar-lhes que importava que o Filho do homem padecesse muito, e fosse rejeitado pelos anciãos e príncipes dos sacerdotes, e pelos escribas, e que fosse morto, e depois de três dias resuscitasse.
32 He was stating the matter plainly, so Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.
E dizia abertamente estas palavras. E Pedro o tomou à parte, e começou a repreende-lo.
33 But turning around and looking at his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind me, Satan! For yoʋ are not thinking about the things of God, but the things of men.”
Mas ele, virando-se, e olhando para os seus discípulos, repreendeu a Pedro, dizendo: Retira-te de diante de mim, Satanás; porque não compreendes as coisas que são de Deus, mas as que são dos homens.
34 Then he called the crowd over, along with his disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to be one of my disciples, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.
E, chamando a si a multidão, com os seus discípulos, disse-lhes: Se alguém quizer vir após mim, negue-se a si mesmo, e tome a sua cruz, e siga-me.
35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and for the sake of the gospel will save it.
Porque qualquer que quizer salvar a sua vida perde-la-á, mas qualquer que perder a sua vida por amor de mim e do evangelho esse a salvará.
36 For what will it benefit a person if he gains the whole world but forfeits his soul?
Pois que aproveitaria ao homem, se ganhasse todo o mundo e perdesse a sua alma?
37 Or what can a person give in exchange for his soul?
Ou que dará o homem pelo resgate da sua alma?
38 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
Porque qualquer que, entre esta geração adúltera e pecadora, se envergonhar de mim e das minhas palavras, também o Filho do homem se envergonhará dele, quando vier na glória de seu Pai, com os santos anjos.
