< Mark 14 >

1 Now the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were two days away, and the chief priests and the scribes were looking for a way to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.
Pazigane uketh muussa ba7ale galasay bonchetanas namm7u galasi atishin qesista halaqatine Muse woga tamarsizayti Yesusa balethi oykidi wodhdana ogge koyida.
2 But they said, “Not during the feast, otherwise there will be a riot among the people.”

3 Meanwhile Jesus was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the house of Simon the leper, and a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment made of pure nard. She broke the alabaster jar and poured the ointment on his head.

Hen gadan diza asatappe issi issi asati “haysi shitozi aazas wogay baynda gukize?” gidi ba garsan hanqettida.
5 It could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and the money could have been given to the poor.” So they began scolding her.

6 But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why are you causing trouble for her? She has done a good deed to me.

10 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to deliver Jesus up to them.
Hessappe guye tamane namm7atappe issay Asqoroto Yuday Yesusa athi immans qesista halaqatakko bidess.
11 When they heard why he had come, they were glad and promised to give him money. So he began looking for a way to betray Jesus at an opportune time.
Istika hessa siyidi ufa7etida, izas mishe immans izara gigida. Hessa gish Yesusa athi immanas giga wode nagishe gamm7idees.
12 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb is sacrificed, Jesus' disciples said to him, “Where do yoʋ want us to go and make preparations for yoʋ to eat the Passover?”
Paziga dorssi shuketiza uuketha mussa bonchiza koyro galas Yesusa kalizayti Yesusakko shiqidi “Paziga ka7o manaso awan gigisana mala koyaz?” gi oychida.
13 So he sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jug of water will meet you. Follow him.
Izikka bena kalizaytappe namm7ata hizgi kitides “Gede katama biitte, inte bishin issi hath otora tokidadaey intenara gagana.

Izikka bolla poqe bolla diza gigi utida aaho so intena bessana, hen izan gigisitte.”
16 So his disciples left, went into the city, and found it just as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
Iza kalizaytikka kezidi gede katama bida. Wurikka Yesusay gida mala gidi beetides, pazigakka hen gigisida.
17 When it was evening, Jesus came with the twelve.
Gadey qamishin Yesusay bena kaiza tammane namm7atara gakidees.
18 As they were reclining at the table and eating, Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, one of you who is eating with me will betray me.”
Issti madan dishin ta intess tummu gays inte gidoppe issay izikka tanara issippe mizaysi tana athi immana” gidees.
19 So they began to be sorrowful and to say one after another, “Surely not I?” and, “Surely not I?”
Istika muzotidi “Tanesha? tanesha? gidi issay issay Yesusa” ooychida.
20 Jesus answered them, “It is one of the twelve, one who is dipping bread with me into the dish.
Izikka istas “Tamane namm7atappe issay tanara ba kushe keren yedizadekko.
21 The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.”
Kasse xafetida mala asa nay iza gish hayqana shin asa na athi immizades aye! He uray kasse yeletonta agidakko izas lo7okoshin!” gides.
22 As they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had blessed it, he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take and eat this bread; this is my body.”
Issti mishin uketha eeki anjidinne menthidi bena kalizaytas hayssa ta asho heyte gi imidees.
23 Then he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank of it.

24 He said to them, “This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many.

26 And after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

27 Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’
Yesusay “Ta hemizaysa shocana he wode iza dorssati laletna geteti xafetidaysa mala inte wurikka tanan duphistana.
28 However, after I have been raised up, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”

29 But Peter said to him, “Even if everyone else falls away, I will not.”
Phixirosaykka “asay wuri dhuphetikkokka tani dhuphetikke!” gides.
30 Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to yoʋ that today, on this night, before a rooster crows twice, yoʋ will deny me three times.”
Yesusaykka “Ta ness tumu gays hach qama kutoy namm7u to wasana gakanas neni tana heedzdzu to kadana” gidees.
31 But Peter said all the more vehemently, “Even if I must die with yoʋ, I will certainly not deny yoʋ.” And they all said the same thing.
Phixirosay qass “ta nenara hayqizakkokka mulekka nena kadikke” gidi kehi minthi yotidees. Hankoytikka wuri izaysatho gida.
32 Then they went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray.”

33 He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be greatly disturbed and distressed.

34 He said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to the point of death; stay here and keep watch.”

35 Going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

“Abba aabbo, ness wuri danda7etees, hayssa waye xu7a tappe hasa. Gido attin ne sheneppe atin ta sheney hanoppo” gides.
37 Then he came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are yoʋ sleeping? Could yoʋ not keep watch for one hour?

39 Once again he went away and prayed the same prayer.

40 When he returned, he found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy, and they did not know what to say in response.
Izi namm7antho simi yishin issta ayfen dhiskoy dexxin dhiskidayta demides, shin issti izas ay zaranakonne eribeytena.
41 Then he came a third time and said to them, “Sleep on now and take your rest! That is enough; the hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.

43 Immediately, as he was still speaking, Judas arrived, who was one of the twelve. With him was a large crowd with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.

45 When Judas came, he immediately went up to Jesus and said to him, “Rabbi! Rabbi!” And he kissed him.
Gakida malara Yuday Yesusakko shiqidi “Astamare” gidi yeridees.
46 Then they took hold of Jesus and arrested him.
Assatikka Yesusa oykida.
47 But one of the bystanders drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
Iza achan eqida issay masha shohoppe shodidi qessista halaqa ashkara hayth qanxidees.
48 Then Jesus said to them, “Have you come out to arrest me with swords and clubs as you would against a robber?
Yesusaykka istas “Panga mala tana oykkana mashane durqa oykidi yeti?
49 I was with you daily, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But these things are happening so that the Scriptures may be fulfilled.”

50 Then they all the disciples left him and fled.
Hessa wode iza kalizayti wuri iza yegi agi bida.
51 Now a certain young man was following Jesus, wearing nothing but a linen cloth. The young men tried to seize him,
Be kaloteth qeeri naxalan kamida issi nay Yesusa kalishin asssay iza oykin
52 but he left the linen cloth behind and ran away from them naked.
nazi naxala yegidi kallo kichidees.
53 Then they led Jesus away to the high priest, and all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes were assembled together with him.
Yesusakka gede qessista halaqakko efida. Qessista halaqati dere cimatine Muse woga tamarsizayti hen issippe wuri shiqida.
54 Peter had followed Jesus at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. There he sat with the officers, warming himself in the light of the fire.
Phixirosaykka Yesusa hahora kalishe qessista halaqa gibe gakanas bidees. Izi hen utidi hara asatara tamma ho7ishin
55 Now the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were seeking testimony against Jesus so that they could put him to death, but they did not find any.

56 For many were giving false testimony against him, but their testimonies did not agree.

57 Then some stood up and gave false testimony against him, declaring,
Issi issi markati;
58 “We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this man-made temple, and in three days I will build another not made by man.’”
“Haysi adezi (Ta asa kushen kexetida maqidasse lalada asa kushey bochontaz hara maqidasse heedzdzu galasara ta kexana) gishin nu siyidos” gi markatida.
59 Yet even then their testimony did not agree.

60 Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, “Do yoʋ make no answer? What are these men testifying against yoʋ?”
Qessista halaqaykka ista sinthan dendidi eqqi “Hayti ne bolla markatizaysi aze? Ne aazas duuna zariki?” gidi Yesusa oychidees.
61 But he was silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are yoʋ the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”
Gido atin Yesusay isstas aykokka zaronta coo7u gidees. Qessista halaqay qassekka “Anjetida Xoossa nay kirstosay nene?” gi oychidees.
62 Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”
Yesusaykka zaridi “Ee tanank, asa nay woqama Xoossa ushachana utishininne salo sharara yishin inte iza beyana” gides.
63 Then the high priest tore his garments and said, “What further need do we have of witnesses?
Qessista halaqay ba mayo dakidi “Nuss hara aza marka koshize?
64 You have heard his blasphemy. What seems right to you?” And they all condemned him as deserving death.
Izi casha qaala Xoossa bolla hasa7ishin inte siyidista ha7ich intes ay milatizee?” gides. Istika izas hayqoy beses giidi wurikka issi qalan pirdida.
65 Then some began to spit on him, to blindfold him, and to beat him, saying to him, “Prophesy!” And the officers kept striking him with the palms of their hands.
Hessa wode issi issi asati iza bolla cuchu cutida, iza ayfe goozi oykidi icishe “anne buro hananaysa yoota” gida. Bagayti qasse shagalan baqishe efida.
66 Now as Peter was in the courtyard below, one of the servant girls of the high priest came.
Phixirosay duge bagara hen gibbe gidon dishin qesista halaqa garadistappe issiniya yadaus.
67 When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “Yoʋ also were with Jesus of Nazareth.”

68 But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what yoʋ are talking about!” Then he went outside to the gateway, and a rooster crowed.

He garadeya iza be7idamala hen eeqida asatas “Haysi adezi izara diza asatappe issadekko!” gada qassekka hasa7adus.
70 But again he denied it. After a little while, the people standing nearby said to Peter once again, “Truly yoʋ are one of them, for yoʋ also are a Galilean, and yoʋr accent is like theirs.”
Izi qassekka kadides. Gutha wode gamm7ishin hen eqida asati Phixirossa “Neni Galila asa, hessa gish tummappe ne isstappe issade” gida.
71 But he began to invoke curses and to swear, saying, “I do not know this man of whom you speak.”
Gido atin izi qass “inte gizade ta erikke” gishe caqonne bena qangeth oykidees.
72 Then a rooster crowed a second time, and Peter remembered what Jesus had said to him: “Before a rooster crows twice, yoʋ will deny me three times.” And he broke down and wept.
Herakka kutoy namm7antho wasidees. Phixirosaykka “kutoy namm7a wasanas ne tana hedza kadana” gida Yesusa qalay izas qopetin hiqumidi yekides.
