Luke 4
1 Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
യേശു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവനായി യോർദ്ദാൻ വിട്ടു മടങ്ങി; ആത്മാവു അവനെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു നടത്തി; പിശാചു അവനെ നാല്പതു ദിവസം പരീക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
2 where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. He ate nothing in those days, and afterward, when they had ended, he was hungry.
ആ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ അവൻ ഒന്നും ഭക്ഷിച്ചില്ല; അവ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അവന്നു വിശന്നു.
3 Then the devil said to him, “If yoʋ are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”
അപ്പോൾ പിശാചു അവനോടു: നീ ദൈവപുത്രൻ എങ്കിൽ ഈ കല്ലിനോടു അപ്പമായിത്തീരുവാൻ കല്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4 But Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”
യേശു അവനോടു: മനുഷ്യൻ അപ്പംകൊണ്ടു മാത്രമല്ല ജീവിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
5 So the devil brought him up to a high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
പിന്നെ പിശാചു അവനെ മേലോട്ടു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി ലോകത്തിലെ സകല രാജ്യങ്ങളെയും ക്ഷണനേരത്തിൽ അവന്നു കാണിച്ചു:
6 Then the devil said to him, “To yoʋ I will give all this authority and glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I can give it to anyone I want.
ഈ അധികാരം ഒക്കെയും അതിന്റെ മഹത്വവും നിനക്കു തരാം; അതു എങ്കൽ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്കു മനസ്സുള്ളവന്നു ഞാൻ കൊടുക്കുന്നു.
7 If yoʋ, then, will worship me, it will all be yoʋrs.”
നീ എന്നെ നമസ്കരിച്ചാൽ അതെല്ലാം നിന്റെതാകും എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
8 Jesus answered him, “Get behind me, Satan! It is written, ‘Yoʋ shall worship the Lord yoʋr God, and him only shall yoʋ serve.’”
യേശു അവനോടു: നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു അവനെ മാത്രമേ ആരാധിക്കാവു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
9 Then the devil brought him to Jerusalem, set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If yoʋ are the Son of God, throw yoʋrself down from here,
പിന്നെ അവൻ അവനെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോയി ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ അഗ്രത്തിന്മേൽ നിറുത്തി അവനോടു: നീ ദൈവപുത്രൻ എങ്കിൽ ഇവിടെ നിന്നു താഴോട്ടു ചാടുക.
10 for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning yoʋ, to guard yoʋ,’
“നിന്നെ കാപ്പാൻ അവൻ തന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരോടു നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു കല്പിക്കയും
11 and, ‘In their hands they will lift yoʋ up, so that yoʋ do not strike yoʋr foot against a stone.’”
നിന്റെ കാൽ കല്ലിനോടു തട്ടാതവണ്ണം അവർ നിന്നെ കയ്യിൽ താങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളുകയും ചെയ്യും” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
12 Jesus answered him, “It is said, ‘Yoʋ shall not put the Lord yoʋr God to the test.’”
യേശു അവനോടു: നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുതു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
13 And when the devil had finished all these temptations, he left him until an opportune time.
അങ്ങനെ പിശാചു സകല പരീക്ഷയും തികെച്ചശേഷം കുറെ കാലത്തേക്കു അവനെ വിട്ടുമാറി.
14 Then Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread throughout the entire surrounding region.
യേശു ആത്മാവിന്റെ ശക്തിയോടെ ഗലീലെക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു; അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി ചുറ്റുമുള്ള നാട്ടിൽ ഒക്കെയും പരന്നു.
15 And he was teaching in their synagogues, being praised by all.
അവൻ അവരുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചു; എല്ലാവരും അവനെ പ്രശംസിച്ചു.
16 When he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, as was his custom, and stood up to read.
അവൻ വളർന്ന നസറെത്തിൽ വന്നു: ശബ്ബത്തിൽ തന്റെ പതിവുപോലെ പള്ളിയിൽ ചെന്നു വായിപ്പാൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്നു.
17 The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him, so he unrolled the scroll and found the place where it is written,
യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകം അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു; അവൻ പുസ്തകം വിടർത്തി:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed,
“ദരിദ്രന്മാരോടു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിപ്പാൻ കർത്താവു എന്നെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്കയാൽ അവന്റെ ആത്മാവു എന്റെമേൽ ഉണ്ടു; ബദ്ധന്മാർക്കു വിടുതലും കുരുടന്മാർക്കു കാഴ്ചയും പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും പീഡിതന്മാരെ വിടുവിച്ചയപ്പാനും
19 and to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”
കർത്താവിന്റെ പ്രസാദവർഷം പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം കണ്ടു.
20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed upon him,
പിന്നെ അവൻ പുസ്തകം മടക്കി ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരന്നു തിരികെ കൊടുത്തിട്ടു ഇരുന്നു; പള്ളിയിലുള്ള എല്ലാവരുടെയും കണ്ണു അവങ്കൽ പതിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.
21 and he began speaking to them, saying, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
അവൻ അവരോടു: ഇന്നു നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വചനം കേൾക്കയിൽ ഈ തിരുവെഴുത്തിന്നു നിവൃത്തി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.
22 They were all speaking well of him and were amazed at the gracious words coming out of his mouth. They said, “Is this not Joseph's son?”
എല്ലാവരും അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തി, അവന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട ലാവണ്യ വാക്കുകൾ നിമിത്തം ആശ്ചര്യപെട്ടു; ഇവൻ യോസേഫിന്റെ മകൻ അല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
23 Then Jesus said to them, “Doubtless you will quote to me this proverb: ‘Physician, heal yoʋrself.’ Do here in yoʋr hometown what we have heard that yoʋ did in Capernaum.”
അവൻ അവരോടു: “വൈദ്യാ, നിന്നെത്തന്നേ സൗഖ്യമാക്കുക” എന്നുള്ള പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും “കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ഉണ്ടായി കേട്ടതു എല്ലാം ഈ നിന്റെ പിതൃനഗരത്തിലും ചെയ്ക” എന്നും നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു പറയും നിശ്ചയം.
24 He also said, “Truly I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his hometown.
ഒരു പ്രവാചകനും തന്റെ പിതൃനഗരത്തിൽ സമ്മതനല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
25 But in truth I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut for three years and six months and a severe famine came over all the land,
ഏലീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു ആകാശം മൂവാണ്ടും ആറു മാസവും അടഞ്ഞിട്ടു ദേശത്തു എങ്ങും മഹാക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേലിൽ പല വിധവമാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ യഥാർത്ഥമായി നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
26 yet Elijah was sent to none of them except a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon.
എന്നാൽ സീദോനിലെ സരെപ്തയിൽ ഒരു വിധവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കല്ലാതെ അവരിൽ ആരുടെയും അടുക്കലേക്കു ഏലീയാവിനെ അയച്ചില്ല.
27 There were also many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, yet not one of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”
അവ്വണ്ണം എലീശാപ്രവാചകന്റെ കാലത്തു യിസ്രായേലിൽ പല കുഷ്ഠരോഗികൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. സുറിയക്കാരനായ നയമാൻ അല്ലാതെ അവരാരും ശുദ്ധമായില്ല എന്നും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
28 When they heard this, all the people in the synagogue were filled with rage.
പള്ളിയിലുള്ളവർ ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു എല്ലാവരും കോപം നിറഞ്ഞവരായി എഴുന്നേറ്റു
29 They rose up, drove him out of town, and brought him to the brow of the hill on which their town was built, to throw him down from the cliff.
അവനെ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി അവരുടെ പട്ടണം പണിതിരുന്ന മലയുടെ വക്കോളം കൊണ്ടുപോയി തലകീഴായി തള്ളിയിടുവാൻ ഭാവിച്ചു.
30 But Jesus passed through the crowd and went away.
അവനോ അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ കൂടി കടന്നുപോയി.
31 Then he went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and on the Sabbath he began teaching the people.
അനന്തരം അവൻ ഗലീലയിലെ ഒരു പട്ടണമായ കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ചെന്നു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചുപോന്നു.
32 They were astonished at his teaching, because his message was spoken with authority.
അവന്റെ വചനം അധികാരത്തോടെ ആകയാൽ അവർ അവന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തിൽ വിസ്മയിച്ചു.
33 Now in the synagogue there was a man who had an unclean demonic spirit, and he cried out with a loud voice,
അവിടെ പള്ളിയിൽ അശുദ്ധഭൂതം ബാധിച്ച ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
34 “Leave us alone! What do yoʋ have to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have yoʋ come to destroy us? I know who yoʋ are—the Holy One of God.”
അവൻ നസറായനായ യേശുവേ, വിടു; ഞങ്ങൾക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മിൽ എന്തു? ഞങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നുവോ! നീ ആർ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധൻ തന്നേ എന്നു ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു.
35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent and come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out of him, having done him no harm.
മിണ്ടരുതു; അവനെ വിട്ടുപോക എന്നു യേശു അതിനെ ശാസിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഭൂതം അവനെ നടുവിൽ തള്ളിയിട്ടു കേടു ഒന്നും വരുത്താതെ അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി.
36 Amazement came over all the people, and they said to one another, “What kind of message is this? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits and they come out!”
എല്ലാവർക്കും വിസ്മയം ഉണ്ടായി: ഈ വചനം എന്തു? അധികാരത്തോടും ശക്തിയോടുംകൂടെ അവൻ അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു; അവ പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോകുന്നു എന്നു തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
37 And news about him went out to every place in the surrounding region.
അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി ചുറ്റുമുള്ള നാടെങ്ങും പരന്നു.
38 Then Jesus arose, left the synagogue, and entered Simon's house. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her.
അവൻ പള്ളിയിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി ശിമോന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു. ശിമോന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ കഠിനജ്വരംകൊണ്ടു വലഞ്ഞിരിക്കയാൽ അവർ അവൾക്കുവേണ്ടി അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
39 So he stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. At once she rose and began to serve them.
അവൻ അവളെ കുനിഞ്ഞു നോക്കി, ജ്വരത്തെ ശാസിച്ചു; അതു അവളെ വിട്ടുമാറി; അവൾ ഉടനെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു.
40 When the sun was setting, people brought to Jesus those who were sick with various diseases, and he laid his hands on each one of them and healed them.
സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിക്കുമ്പോൾ നാനാവ്യാധികൾ പിടിച്ച ദീനക്കാർ ഉള്ളവർ ഒക്കെയും അവരെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവൻ ഓരോരുത്തന്റെയും മേൽ കൈവെച്ചു അവരെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കി.
41 Demons also came out of many, crying out, “Yoʋ are the Christ, the Son of God.” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
പലരിൽ നിന്നും ഭൂതങ്ങൾ; നീ ദൈവപുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി; താൻ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു അവ അറികകൊണ്ടു മിണ്ടുവാൻ അവൻ സമ്മതിക്കാതെ അവയെ ശാസിച്ചു.
42 When daybreak came, Jesus departed and went to a desolate place. The crowds were seeking him, and they came to him and tried to keep him from leaving them.
നേരം വെളുത്തപ്പോൾ അവൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഒരു നിർജ്ജനസ്ഥലത്തേക്കു പോയി. പുരുഷാരം അവനെ തിരഞ്ഞു അവന്റെ അരികത്തു വന്നു തങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു പോകാതിരിപ്പാൻ അവനെ തടുത്തു.
43 But Jesus said to them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well, for that is why I was sent.”
അവൻ അവരോടു: ഞാൻ മറ്റുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും ദൈവരാജ്യം സുവിശേഷിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; ഇതിനായിട്ടല്ലോ എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
44 So he continued preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ഗലീലയിലെ പള്ളികളിൽ പ്രസംഗിച്ചുപോന്നു.
