Luke 15
1 Now all the tax collectors and sinners were drawing near to Jesus to listen to him.
Ahora todos los recaudadores de impuestos y pecadores se acercaron para prestarle atención.
2 But the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.”
Y los fariseos y los escribas se enojaron, diciendo: Este hombre recibe a los pecadores y come con ellos.
3 So Jesus told them this parable:
Y él les contó una historia, diciendo:
4 “What man among you, who has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the other ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it?
¿Qué hombre de ustedes, teniendo cien ovejas, si una de ellas se suelta y se pierde y se va, no deja que las noventa y nueve en el desierto solas, y va tras ella? hasta que la encuentra?
5 And when he does find it, he rejoices as he lays it on his shoulders.
Y cuando la tiene de nuevo, la toma en sus brazos con alegría.
6 Then he returns home and calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep.’
Y cuando regresa a su casa, envía a sus vecinos y amigos, diciéndoles: Alégrense conmigo, porque he recobrado mis ovejas que se habían perdido.
7 I tell you, in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.
Les digo que aun así habrá más gozo en el cielo cuando un pecador sea apartado de su maldad, que por noventa y nueve hombres buenos, que no necesitan arrepentimiento.
8 “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one of them. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?
¿O qué mujer, que tiene diez pedazos de plata, si un pedacito se le fue de las manos, no encenderá la luz, y barre su casa, buscando con cuidado hasta que la encuentra?
9 And when she does find it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost coin.’
Y cuando vuelve a tenerla, junta a sus amigos y vecinos, diciendo: Alégrate conmigo, porque he recuperado la plata que había perdido.
10 In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God's angels over one sinner who repents.”
Aun así, les digo, hay alegría entre los ángeles de Dios, cuando un pecador que se arrepiente de su maldad.
11 Then he said, “There was a man who had two sons.
Y él dijo: Un varón tenía dos hijos.
12 The younger of the two said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of property that will belong to me.’ So the father divided his assets between his two sons.
Y el menor de ellos dijo a su padre: Padre, dame la parte de la herencia que será mía. Y él hizo la división de sus bienes entre ellos.
13 A few days later, the younger son gathered together all that he had and went on a journey to a distant country, and there he squandered his property by living recklessly.
Y no mucho después, el hijo menor juntó todo lo que era suyo y emprendió un viaje a un país lejano, y allí todo su dinero lo desperdicio llevando una vida insensata.
14 When he had spent all that he had, a severe famine arose throughout that country, and he began to be in need.
Y cuando todo se malgasto, hubo una hambruna no había comida en ese país, y él estaba en necesidad.
15 So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs.
Y él fue y se puso en manos de uno de los ciudadanos de ese país, y lo envió a sus campos para dar de comer a los cerdos.
16 The young man longed to fill his belly with the carob pods the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
Y tan grande era su necesidad que habría estado contento de tomar la comida de los cerdos, y nadie le dio nada.
17 When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father's hired workers have an abundance of bread, while I perish with hunger!
Pero cuando volvió en sí, dijo: ¡Cuántos criados de mi padre tienen suficiente pan, y más, mientras estoy cerca de la muerte por necesidad de alimento!
18 I will arise, go to my father, and say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before yoʋ.
Me levantaré e iré donde mi padre, y le diré: Padre, he hecho mal, en contra del cielo y en contra ti.
19 I am no longer worthy to be called yoʋr son; make me like one of yoʋr hired workers.”’
Ya no soy digno para ser llamado tu hijo: hazme como uno de tus empleados.
20 So he arose and went to his father. But while he was still far away, his father saw him and was moved with compassion. So he ran to his son, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him.
Y él se levantó y fue a su padre. Pero mientras él todavía estaba lejos, su padre lo vio y sintió lástima por él y fue rápidamente, lo tomó en sus brazos y le dio un beso.
21 Then the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before yoʋ. I am no longer worthy to be called yoʋr son.’
Y su hijo le dijo: Padre, he hecho mal, contra el cielo y contra ti: y ya no soy digno para ser nombrado tu hijo.
22 But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.
Pero el padre dijo a sus siervos: busquen la mejor ropa, y vistanlo, y pongan un anillo en su mano y zapatos en sus pies.
23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let us eat and celebrate.
Y toma el buey gordo y mátenlo, comamos y hagamos una fiesta, y alegrémonos.
24 For this son of mine was dead but is now alive again; he was lost but has now been found.’ And they began to celebrate.
Por esto, mi hijo, que estaba muerto, está viviendo de nuevo; él se había alejado de mí y ha regresado. Y ellos estaban llenos de alegría.
25 “Now his older son was in the field, and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.
Ahora el hijo mayor estaba en el campo: y cuando llegó cerca de la casa, los sonidos de la música y el baile llegaron a sus oídos.
26 So he called one of the servants over and asked him what was happening.
Y mandó llamar a uno de los sirvientes, preguntándole que pasaba.
27 The servant said to him, ‘Yoʋr brother has come, and yoʋr father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received yoʋr brother back safe and sound.’
Y él le dijo: Tu hermano ha venido; y tu padre ha matado un becerro porque ha regresado a salvo.
28 But the older son was angry and would not go in. So his father came out and began pleading with him.
Pero él se enojó y no quiso entrar; y su padre salió y le hizo una petición para que entrara.
29 But he said to his father in response, ‘Behold, all these years I have served yoʋ and have never disobeyed yoʋr command, yet yoʋ have never given me even a young goat so that I could celebrate with my friends.
Pero él respondió y le dijo a su padre: Mira, todos estos años he sido tu siervo, siguiendo tus órdenes en todo; y tú nunca me diste ni un chivo para que yo tenga una fiesta con mis amigos:
30 But when this son of yoʋrs came, who has devoured yoʋr assets with prostitutes, yoʋ killed the fattened calf for him.’
Pero cuando vino este tu hijo, que ha estado malgastando tu propiedad con prostitutas, le matas un becerro.
31 The father said to him, ‘Son, yoʋ are always with me, and everything I have is yoʋrs.
Y él le dijo: Hijo, tú estás conmigo en todo tiempo, y todo lo que tengo es tuyo.
32 But it was proper to celebrate and rejoice, for yoʋr brother was dead but is now alive again; he was lost but has now been found.’”
Pero era correcto estar contentos y tener una fiesta; porque este tu hermano, que estaba muerto, y ha revivido; se había perdido y ha regresado.
