Hebrews 4
1 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest remains open, let us proceed with fear so that none of you may be found to have fallen short of it.
അവിടത്തെ സ്വസ്ഥതയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കാനുള്ള വാഗ്ദാനം ഇപ്പോഴും നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരാൾക്കും അതു നഷ്ടമാകാതിരിക്കാൻ നമുക്കു ശ്രദ്ധാലുക്കളായിരിക്കാം.
2 For we also have received good news just as they did. But the message they heard did not benefit them, since they were not united by faith with those who listened.
നാമും അവരെപ്പോലെതന്നെ, സുവിശേഷം കേട്ടവരാണ്; വചനം കേട്ട് അനുസരിച്ചവരുടെ വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ പങ്കാളികളാകാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് കേട്ട സന്ദേശം അവർക്കു പ്രയോജനരഹിതമായിത്തീർന്നു.
3 For we who have believed enter that rest. As for the others, God has said, “As I swore in my wrath, ‘They will not enter my rest!’” Now God's works have been finished from the foundation of the world.
വിശ്വസിച്ചവരായ നാമാകട്ടെ, വിശ്രമത്തിലേക്കു പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നു; “‘അതുകൊണ്ട് അവർ ഒരിക്കലും എന്റെ സ്വസ്ഥതയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുകയില്ല’ എന്നു ഞാൻ എന്റെ കോപത്തിൽ ശപഥംചെയ്തു,” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നല്ലോ. ദൈവം ലോകസ്ഥാപനസമയത്തുതന്നെ സൃഷ്ടികർമം പൂർത്തീകരിച്ചു. എങ്കിലും,
4 For in one place it speaks about the seventh day as follows: “On the seventh day God rested from all his works.”
“ഏഴാംദിവസം ദൈവം തന്റെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തിയിൽനിന്നും വിശ്രമിച്ചു” എന്ന് ഏഴാംദിവസത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ഒരിടത്ത് പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു.
5 But again, God says in the passage above: “They will not enter my rest!”
“അവർ ഒരിക്കലും എന്റെ സ്വസ്ഥതയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുകയില്ല” എന്നു മേലുദ്ധരിച്ച ഭാഗത്തു വീണ്ടും പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു.
6 Therefore, since God's rest remains open for some to enter, and those who formerly received good news did not enter because of their disobedience,
ചിലർക്ക് അതിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കാൻ അവസരം ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കയാലും മുമ്പ് ഈ സുവിശേഷം കേട്ടവർ അനുസരണക്കേടിനാൽ പ്രവേശിക്കാതെ പോയതിനാലും
7 he again designates a certain day, calling it “Today,” as he says through David much later, in the passage already quoted, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”
“ഇന്ന്” എന്നൊരു ദിവസം ദൈവം പിന്നെയും നിശ്ചയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്ന് ദീർഘകാലത്തിനുശേഷം ദാവീദിലൂടെ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. “ഇന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവശബ്ദം കേൾക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം കഠിനമാക്കരുത്.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.
യോശുവ അവർക്കു സ്വസ്ഥത നൽകിയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ പിന്നീടു മറ്റൊരു ദിവസത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുകയില്ലായിരുന്നു.
9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
അതിനാൽ ദൈവജനത്തിന് ഒരു ശബ്ബത്ത് വിശ്രമം അവശേഷിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
10 For anyone who has entered God's rest has rested from his own works, just as God rested from his.
ദൈവം തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയിൽനിന്ന് വിശ്രമിച്ചതുപോലെ, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വസ്ഥതയിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചയാൾ സ്വപ്രയത്നത്തിൽനിന്നും വിശ്രമിക്കുന്നു.
11 Therefore let us make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall into the same pattern of disobedience.
അതിനാൽ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ അനുസരണക്കേട് മാതൃകയാക്കി, ആരും വീണുപോകാതിരിക്കാൻമാത്രമല്ല, ആ വിശ്രമത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കാനും നമുക്ക് ഉത്സാഹിക്കാം.
12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
ദൈവവചനം സജീവവും സചേതനവുമാണ്. അത് ഇരുവായ്ത്തലയുള്ള ഏതു വാളിനെക്കാളും മൂർച്ചയേറിയതും പ്രാണനും ആത്മാവും സന്ധിമജ്ജകളും വേർപെടുംവരെ തുളഞ്ഞുകയറുന്നതും ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ചിന്തകളും ഭാവങ്ങളും വ്യവച്ഛേദിക്കുന്നതും ആകുന്നു.
13 No creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.
ദൈവദൃഷ്ടിയിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു സൃഷ്ടിയും മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നില്ല. സകലതും അവിടത്തെ കൺമുമ്പിൽ അനാവൃതവും തുറന്നതുമായിരിക്കുന്നു. അവിടത്തോടാണ് നമുക്കു കണക്കു ബോധിപ്പിക്കാൻ ഉള്ളത്.
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.
സ്വർഗാരോഹണം ചെയ്ത ദൈവപുത്രനായ യേശു നമ്മുടെ അതിശ്രേഷ്ഠ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായി ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് നമ്മുടെ വിശ്വാസം മുറുകെപ്പിടിക്കാം.
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are, yet was without sin.
നമ്മുടെ ദൗർബല്യങ്ങളിൽ സഹതപിക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്ത ഒരാളല്ല നമുക്കു മഹാപുരോഹിതനായി ഉള്ളത്; മറിച്ച്, അവിടന്ന് നമ്മെപ്പോലെ സകലത്തിലും പ്രലോഭിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടും പാപരഹിതനായിരുന്നു.
16 Therefore let us draw near to the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
അതുകൊണ്ടു കരുണയും കൃപയും യഥാസമയം സഹായവും ലഭിക്കാനായി നമുക്കു ധൈര്യപൂർവം കൃപയുടെ സിംഹാസനത്തിന് അടുത്തുചെല്ലാം.
