Ephesians 5
1 Therefore, be imitators of God, as beloved children,
നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പ്രിയമക്കൾ ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവത്തെ എല്ലാ കാര്യങ്ങളിലും അനുകരിക്കുക:
2 and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
സ്നേഹം നിറഞ്ഞവരായി ജീവിക്കുക. ക്രിസ്തു നമ്മോടുള്ള സ്നേഹംനിമിത്തം നമുക്കുവേണ്ടി സൗരഭ്യമായ അർപ്പണവും യാഗവുമായി സ്വയം ദൈവത്തിനു സമർപ്പിച്ചതാണ് നമ്മുടെ മാതൃക.
3 But fornication, impurity of any kind, and covetousness must not even be mentioned among you, because such things are improper for saints.
നിങ്ങളുടെ മധ്യേ ലൈംഗിക അധാർമികത, ഒരുതരത്തിലുമുള്ള അശുദ്ധി, ദുരാഗ്രഹം ഇവയുടെ പേരുപോലും കേൾക്കാൻ ഇടയാകരുത്; കാരണം ഇവ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധജനത്തിന് ഭൂഷണമല്ല.
4 Nor should there be any obscenity, foolish talk, or coarse joking, which are not fitting, but there should be thanksgiving instead.
അശ്ലീലം, നിരർഥക സംഭാഷണം, അശ്ലീലഫലിതം ഇങ്ങനെ അയോഗ്യമായവയൊന്നും പാടുള്ളതല്ല; പകരം സ്തോത്രശബ്ദമാണ് ഉയരേണ്ടത്.
5 For you know that no one who is a fornicator, impure, or covetous (that is, an idolater) has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
ദുർവൃത്തർ, അശുദ്ധർ, ദുരാഗ്രഹികൾ—ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവർ വിഗ്രഹാരാധകർ—ഇവർക്ക് ആർക്കും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെയും ദൈവത്തിന്റെയും രാജ്യത്തിൽ യാതൊരു ഓഹരിയുമില്ല എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കറിയാമല്ലോ.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience.
അർഥശൂന്യമായ വാക്കുകളാൽ ആരും നിങ്ങളെ വഞ്ചിക്കരുത്. ഇവയാലാണ് അനുസരണമില്ലാത്തവർ ദൈവക്രോധത്തിനു പാത്രമായിത്തീരുന്നത്.
7 Therefore do not be partners with them.
അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ സഹകാരികളാകരുത്.
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light
മുമ്പ് നിങ്ങൾ അന്ധകാരമായിരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോഴോ കർത്താവിൽ പ്രകാശമാകുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ട് പ്രകാശത്തിന്റെ മക്കളായി ജീവിക്കുക.
9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is found in all goodness, righteousness, and truth).
പ്രകാശത്തിന്റെ പരിണതഫലം സർവനന്മയും നീതിയും സത്യവുമാണ്.
10 Carefully determine what is pleasing to the Lord.
അതുകൊണ്ട് കർത്താവിനു പ്രസാദകരമായത് എന്തെന്ന് അന്വേഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക.
11 Do not participate in the unfruitful works of darkness, but expose them instead.
അന്ധകാരത്തിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ഫലശൂന്യമാണ്, അവയോട് യാതൊരു സഹകരണവും പാടില്ലെന്നുമാത്രമല്ല, അവയെ വെളിച്ചത്ത് കൊണ്ടുവരികയുമാണ് ചെയ്യേണ്ടത്.
12 For it is shameful even to mention what such people do in secret.
പറയാൻപോലും ലജ്ജാവഹമായവയാണ് അനുസരണകെട്ടവർ രഹസ്യമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത്.
13 But everything exposed by the light becomes illuminated, and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.
എന്നാൽ, പ്രകാശത്താൽ എല്ലാം വെളിപ്പെടുകയും ദൃശ്യമായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും—പ്രകാശം പതിക്കുന്നവയോരോന്നും ഓരോ പ്രകാശമായിമാറും.
14 Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine upon yoʋ.”
അതിനാൽ ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു: “ഉറങ്ങുന്നവരേ, ഉണരൂ, മരിച്ചവരുടെ മധ്യേനിന്ന് എഴുന്നേൽക്കൂ, അപ്പോൾ ക്രിസ്തു നിന്റെമേൽ പ്രശോഭിക്കും.”
15 See then that you walk carefully, not as unwise people but as wise,
അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെ ജീവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സൂക്ഷിക്കുക—അവിവേകികളായിട്ടല്ല, വിവേകികളായിത്തന്നെ ജീവിക്കുക.
16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
ഇത് വഷളത്തം വർധിതമായ കാലമാണ്; അതുകൊണ്ട്, ലഭിക്കുന്ന അവസരങ്ങളൊന്നും പാഴാക്കാതെ പരമാവധി പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്തുക.
17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
അജ്ഞാനികളാകരുത്; പിന്നെയോ കർത്താവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം എന്തെന്നു ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവരാകുക.
18 Do not be drunk with wine, which leads to debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
മദ്യപിച്ചു മദോന്മത്തരാകരുത്; അതു വഴിപിഴച്ച ജീവിതത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കും. നിങ്ങളോ, ദൈവാത്മാവിനാൽ നിയന്ത്രിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരായി
19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your hearts to the Lord,
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ, സ്തുതിഗീതങ്ങൾ, ആത്മികഗാനങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയാൽ പരസ്പരം പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുകയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽ കർത്താവിന് കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ ആലപിക്കുകയും
20 always giving thanks for everything to our God and Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ പിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന് സർവകാര്യങ്ങൾക്കായും എപ്പോഴും സ്തോത്രം അർപ്പിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുക.
21 and submitting to one another in the fear of Christ.
ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുള്ള ഭയഭക്തിയിൽ പരസ്പരവിധേയത്വം പുലർത്തുക.
22 Wives, submit to your husbands, as to the Lord.
ഭാര്യമാരേ, നിങ്ങൾ കർത്താവിനു വിധേയപ്പെടുന്നതുപോലെ സ്വന്തം ഭർത്താക്കന്മാർക്കും വിധേയപ്പെടുക.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, just as Christ is the head and Savior of the church, which is his body.
കാരണം, ക്രിസ്തു തന്റെ ശരീരമാകുന്ന സഭയുടെ ശിരസ്സും അതിന്റെ രക്ഷകനുമായിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഭർത്താവ് ഭാര്യയുടെ ശിരസ്സാകുന്നു.
24 Just as the church submits to Christ, so wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
സഭ ക്രിസ്തുവിനു വിധേയപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഭാര്യമാരും തങ്ങളുടെ ഭർത്താക്കന്മാർക്കു സകലത്തിലും വിധേയപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കട്ടെ.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
ഭർത്താക്കന്മാരേ, ക്രിസ്തു സ്വന്തം ജീവൻ നൽകി സഭയെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ സ്നേഹിക്കണം.
26 to sanctify her by cleansing her with the washing of water by the word,
ക്രിസ്തു അവിടത്തെ സഭയെ വചനമാകുന്ന ജലത്താൽ കഴുകി നിർമലീകരിച്ച് വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണ്ടതിനും
27 so that he might present her to himself as a glorious church, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but holy and unblemished.
കറ, ചുളുക്കം, മാലിന്യം എന്നിവ അശേഷം ഇല്ലാതെ വിശുദ്ധയും നിഷ്കളങ്കയുമായി തേജസ്സോടെ തനിക്കായി നിർത്തേണ്ടതിനുമാണ് അപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തത്.
28 In the same way husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
ഇതുപോലെതന്നെ ഭർത്താക്കന്മാരും തങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ സ്വന്തം ശരീരങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെതന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു. ഭാര്യയെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവൻ യഥാർഥത്തിൽ തന്നെത്തന്നെയാണ് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നത്.
29 For no one has ever hated his own flesh, but he nourishes and cares for it, just as the Lord does for the church,
ആരും ഒരിക്കലും സ്വന്തം ശരീരത്തെ വെറുക്കുന്നില്ല, സഭയെ ക്രിസ്തു പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അതിനെ പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കുകയാണു ചെയ്യുന്നത്.
30 because we are members of his body, of his flesh and of his bones.
നാം എല്ലാവരും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ശരീരത്തിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങൾ ആണല്ലോ.
31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”
തിരുവെഴുത്തിൽ ഇങ്ങനെയാണല്ലോ വായിക്കുന്നത്, “ഈ കാരണത്താൽ ഒരു പുരുഷൻ തന്റെ മാതാപിതാക്കളെ വിട്ടുപിരിഞ്ഞ് തന്റെ ഭാര്യയോടു സംയോജിക്കും, അവരിരുവരും ഒരു ശരീരമായിത്തീരും.”
32 This is a profound mystery, but I am talking about Christ and the church.
ഇത് മഹത്തായ ഒരു രഹസ്യം. ഞാൻ ക്രിസ്തുവിനെയും സഭയെയുംകുറിച്ചാണ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നത്.
33 Nevertheless, each man among you must love his own wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
ചുരുക്കിപ്പറഞ്ഞാൽ, നിങ്ങളിൽ ഓരോരുത്തരും സ്വന്തം ഭാര്യയെ തന്നെപ്പോലെതന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കണം; ഭാര്യ ഭർത്താവിനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കേണ്ടതുമാണ്.
