< Colossians 3 >

1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ sitteth at the right hand of God.
2 Set your minds on the things above, not the things on earth.
Mind the things above, not those on the earth.
3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
For ye are dead as to the world, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory.
When Christ, who is your life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.
5 Put to death therefore whatever belongs to your earthly nature: fornication, impurity, lust, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Mortify therefore your members that are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, disorderly passion, evil concupiscence, and insatiable desire, which is indeed idolatry:
6 On account of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience.
for which things the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.
7 You too once walked in these ways when you lived among them.
In which ye also formerly walked, when ye lived among them.
8 But now you must put them all aside: wrath, anger, malice, slander, and filthy language from your mouth.
But now put away all these also, wrath, animosity, malice, calumny, and filthy discourse out of your mouth.
9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old self with its practices
Lie not one to another, seeing ye have put off the old man with his evil practices;
10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of its Creator.
and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge, after the image of Him that created him.
11 Here there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and free, but Christ is all and in all.
Wherein there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, or free: but Christ is all and in all.
12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and beloved, put on tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,
Put on therefore, as the elect of God holy and beloved, bowels of mercy, benignity, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering;
13 bearing with one another and forgiving one other if any one of you has a complaint against another; just as Christ forgave you, so you also must forgive.
bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any one has a complaint against any: even as Christ hath forgiven you, so also do ye.
14 Above all, put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
And above all these put on love, which is the band of perfection.
15 Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
And let the peace of God preside in your hearts, to which ye are also called as united in one body: and be thankful for it.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another with all wisdom as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to the Lord with gratitude in your hearts.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another by psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude singing in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to our God and Father through him.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to our God and Father by Him.
18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Wives, be subject to your husbands, as becometh you in the Lord:
19 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be embittered against them.
and ye husbands, love your wives, and be not embittered against them.
20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
Children, obey your parents in all things; for this is well-pleasing to the Lord:
21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
and ye fathers, do not irritate your children, least they be discouraged.
22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything. Do not try to please them only when they are watching you, but obey with sincerity of heart, fearing God.
Servants, be obedient in all things to your lawful masters, not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but in uprightness of heart, fearing God; and whatever service ye do,
23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for men,
do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men;
24 knowing that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward; for you serve the Lord Christ.
knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord Christ;
25 But he who does wrong will be paid back the wrong that he has done, and there is no partiality.
but he that doth unjustly, shall receive for what wrong he hath done; and there is no respect of persons with God:
