< Acts 3 >

1 One day Peter and John were going up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
2 And a man who was lame from his mother's womb was being carried in. Every day people would lay him at the gate of the temple called the Beautiful Gate so that he could ask for alms from those who were entering the temple courts.
And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter the temple courts, he began asking for alms.
Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4 But Peter, along with John, looked at him intently and said, “Look at us.”
And Peter, fastening his eyes on him with John, said, Look on us.
5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.
And he gave heed to them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 But Peter said, “I have no silver or gold, but what I do have I give to yoʋ. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”
Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 Then Peter took hold of him by the right hand and raised him up, and at once his feet and ankles were made strong.
And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 Leaping up, he stood and began walking. Then he entered the temple courts with them, walking and leaping and praising God.
And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God,
And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
10 they recognized him as the man who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple asking for alms. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him.
11 As the lame man who had been healed clung to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them at the portico called Solomon's, utterly astonished.
And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
12 When Peter saw this, he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why are you staring at us as though by our own power or godliness we have made this man walk?
And when Peter saw it, he answered to the people, You men of Israel, why marvel you at this? or why look you so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of our fathers—has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, even though Pilate had decided to release him.
The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus; whom you delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
14 Yes, you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you.
But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted to you;
15 You put to death the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.
And killed the Prince of life, whom God has raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
16 By faith in his name, his name has given strength to this man whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.
And his name through faith in his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know: yes, the faith which is by him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
17 “Now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your rulers also.
And now, brothers, I know that through ignorance you did it, as did also your rulers.
18 But in this way God fulfilled what he had foretold through the mouths of all his prophets, that the Christ would suffer.
But those things, which God before had showed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he has so fulfilled.
19 Therefore repent and turn back so that your sins may be wiped away, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
20 and that he may send Jesus, the Christ who has been appointed for you.
And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached to you:
21 Heaven must receive him until the time comes for the restoration of all things, which God declared by the mouths of all his holy prophets long ago. (aiōn g165)
Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. (aiōn g165)
22 For Moses said to our fathers, ‘The Lord our God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to everything he tells you.
For Moses truly said to the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up to you of your brothers, like to me; him shall you hear in all things whatever he shall say to you.
23 Every soul who does not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.’
And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
24 Indeed, all the prophets who have spoken, beginning with Samuel and continuing with those who came afterward, also proclaimed these days.
Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
25 You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with our fathers when he said to Abraham, ‘In yoʋr offspring all the families of the earth will be blessed.’
You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, And in your seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
26 God raised up his servant Jesus and sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each of you from your evil ways.”
To you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
