1 Timothy 6
1 All who are under the yoke of slavery must regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that no one will revile God's name or his doctrine.
यावन्तो लोका युगधारिणो दासाः सन्ति ते स्वस्वस्वामिनं पूर्णसमादरयोग्यं मन्यन्तां नो चेद् ईश्वरस्य नाम्न उपदेशस्य च निन्दा सम्भविष्यति।
2 Slaves who have believing masters must not despise them, for they are brothers; rather they must serve them, because those who benefit from their good service are faithful and beloved. Teach and encourage these things.
येषाञ्च स्वामिनो विश्वासिनः भवन्ति तैस्ते भ्रातृत्वात् नावज्ञेयाः किन्तु ते कर्म्मफलभोगिनो विश्वासिनः प्रियाश्च भवन्तीति हेतोः सेवनीया एव, त्वम् एतानि शिक्षय समुपदिश च।
3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that is in accordance with godliness,
यः कश्चिद् इतरशिक्षां करोति, अस्माकं प्रभो र्यीशुख्रीष्टस्य हितवाक्यानीश्वरभक्ते र्योग्यां शिक्षाञ्च न स्वीकरोति
4 he is puffed up and understands nothing. Moreover, he has an unhealthy desire for controversies and quarrels about words, from which come envy, strife, slanderous words, evil suspicions,
स दर्पध्मातः सर्व्वथा ज्ञानहीनश्च विवादै र्वाग्युद्धैश्च रोगयुक्तश्च भवति।
5 and constant disagreement among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, supposing that godliness is a means of gain. Keep away from such people.
तादृशाद् भावाद् ईर्ष्याविरोधापवाददुष्टासूया भ्रष्टमनसां सत्यज्ञानहीनानाम् ईश्वरभक्तिं लाभोपायम् इव मन्यमानानां लोकानां विवादाश्च जायन्ते तादृशेभ्यो लोकेभ्यस्त्वं पृथक् तिष्ठ।
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
संयतेच्छया युक्ता येश्वरभक्तिः सा महालाभोपायो भवतीति सत्यं।
7 For we brought nothing into the world, and it is clear that we cannot bring anything out either,
एतज्जगत्प्रवेशनकालेऽस्माभिः किमपि नानायि तत्तयजनकालेऽपि किमपि नेतुं न शक्ष्यत इति निश्चितं।
8 but if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
अतएव खाद्यान्याच्छादनानि च प्राप्यास्माभिः सन्तुष्टै र्भवितव्यं।
9 But those who wish to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many senseless and harmful desires that sink people into ruin and destruction.
ये तु धनिनो भवितुं चेष्टन्ते ते परीक्षायाम् उन्माथे पतन्ति ये चाभिलाषा मानवान् विनाशे नरके च मज्जयन्ति तादृशेष्वज्ञानाहिताभिलाषेष्वपि पतन्ति।
10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, and in their eagerness to become rich some have wandered away from the faith, piercing themselves with many sorrows.
यतोऽर्थस्पृहा सर्व्वेषां दुरितानां मूलं भवति तामवलम्ब्य केचिद् विश्वासाद् अभ्रंशन्त नानाक्लेशैश्च स्वान् अविध्यन्।
11 But as for yoʋ, O man of God, flee from these things, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness.
हे ईश्वरस्य लोक त्वम् एतेभ्यः पलाय्य धर्म्म ईश्वरभक्ति र्विश्वासः प्रेम सहिष्णुता क्षान्तिश्चैतान्याचर।
12 Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which yoʋ were called and concerning which yoʋ made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (aiōnios g166)
विश्वासरूपम् उत्तमयुद्धं कुरु, अनन्तजीवनम् आलम्बस्व यतस्तदर्थं त्वम् आहूतो ऽभवः, बहुसाक्षिणां समक्षञ्चोत्तमां प्रतिज्ञां स्वीकृतवान्। (aiōnios g166)
13 I charge yoʋ before God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who made the good confession in his testimony before Pontius Pilate,
अपरं सर्व्वेषां जीवयितुरीश्वरस्य साक्षाद् यश्च ख्रीष्टो यीशुः पन्तीयपीलातस्य समक्षम् उत्तमां प्रतिज्ञां स्वीकृतवान् तस्य साक्षाद् अहं त्वाम् इदम् आज्ञापयामि।
14 that yoʋ obey what has been commanded without fault or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
ईश्वरेण स्वसमये प्रकाशितव्यम् अस्माकं प्रभो र्यीशुख्रीष्टस्यागमनं यावत् त्वया निष्कलङ्कत्वेन निर्द्दोषत्वेन च विधी रक्ष्यतां।
15 which God will reveal in his own time. He is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
स ईश्वरः सच्चिदानन्दः, अद्वितीयसम्राट्, राज्ञां राजा, प्रभूनां प्रभुः,
16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has ever seen or is able to see. To him be honor and eternal power. Amen. (aiōnios g166)
अमरताया अद्वितीय आकरः, अगम्यतेजोनिवासी, मर्त्त्यानां केनापि न दृष्टः केनापि न दृश्यश्च। तस्य गौरवपराक्रमौ सदातनौ भूयास्तां। आमेन्। (aiōnios g166)
17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty or to put their hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. (aiōn g165)
इहलोके ये धनिनस्ते चित्तसमुन्नतिं चपले धने विश्वासञ्च न कुर्व्वतां किन्तु भोगार्थम् अस्मभ्यं प्रचुरत्वेन सर्व्वदाता (aiōn g165)
18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good works, and to be generous and willing to share,
योऽमर ईश्वरस्तस्मिन् विश्वसन्तु सदाचारं कुर्व्वन्तु सत्कर्म्मधनेन धनिनो सुकला दातारश्च भवन्तु,
19 treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, so that they may take hold of eternal life.
यथा च सत्यं जीवनं पाप्नुयुस्तथा पारत्रिकाम् उत्तमसम्पदं सञ्चिन्वन्त्वेति त्वयादिश्यन्तां।
20 O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to yoʋ and avoid the profane chatter and counterarguments of what is falsely called “knowledge.”
हे तीमथिय, त्वम् उपनिधिं गोपय काल्पनिकविद्याया अपवित्रं प्रलापं विरोधोक्तिञ्च त्यज च,
21 By professing it, some have strayed from the faith. Grace be with yoʋ. Amen.
यतः कतिपया लोकास्तां विद्यामवलम्ब्य विश्वासाद् भ्रष्टा अभवन। प्रसादस्तव सहायो भूयात्। आमेन्।
