1 Corinthians 9
1 Am I not an apostle? Am I not free? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?
૧શું હું સ્વતંત્ર નથી? શું હું પ્રેરિત નથી? શું મને આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનું દર્શન થયું નથી? શું તમે પ્રભુમાં મારી સેવાનું ફળ નથી?
2 If to others I am not an apostle, at least I am to you, for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.
૨જોકે હું બીજાઓની દ્રષ્ટિમાં પ્રેરિત ન હોઉં, તોપણ નિશ્ચે તમારી નજરે તો છું જ, કેમ કે પ્રભુમાં તમે મારા પ્રેરિતપદનો પુરાવો છો.
3 This is my defense to those who examine me.
૩મારી પૂછપરછ કરનારાને મારો એ જ પ્રત્યુત્તર છે;
4 Do we not have a right to eat and to drink?
૪શું અમને ખાવાપીવાનો અધિકાર નથી?
5 Do we not have a right to take along a wife who is a sister in Christ, as do the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?
૫શું જેવો બીજા પ્રેરિતોને, પ્રભુના ભાઈઓને તથા કેફાને છે તેવો મને પણ વિશ્વાસી સ્ત્રીને સાથે લઈ ફરવાનો અધિકાર નથી?
6 Or is it only Barnabas and I who must work to support ourselves?
૬અથવા શું ધંધો રોજગાર કરીને ગુજરાન ચલાવવાનું કેવળ મારે તથા બાર્નાબાસને માટે જ છે?
7 Who at any time serves as a soldier while supplying his own provisions? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not drink of its milk?
૭એવો કયો સિપાઈ છે કે જે પોતાના ખર્ચથી લડાઈમાં જાય છે? દ્રાક્ષાવાડી રોપીને તેનું ફળ કોણ ખાતો નથી? અથવા કોણ જાનવર પાળીને તેના દૂધનો ઉપભોગ કરતો નથી?
8 Do I say this on human authority? Does not the law also say the same thing?
૮એ વાતો શું હું માણસોના વિચારોથી કહું છું? અથવા શું નિયમશાસ્ત્ર પણ એ વાતો કહેતું નથી?
9 For in the law of Moses it is written, “Yoʋ shall not muzzle an ox while it is threshing.” Is it for oxen that God is concerned?
૯કેમ કે મૂસાના નિયમશાસ્ત્રમાં લખ્યું છે, કે પારે ફરનાર બળદના મોં પર જાળી ન બાંધ. શું આવી આજ્ઞા આપવામાં શું ઈશ્વર બળદની ચિંતા કરે છે?
10 Or does he speak entirely for our sake? Yes, this was written for our sake, because he who plows ought to plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope ought to partake of his hope.
૧૦કે વિશેષ આપણાં લીધે તે એમ કહે છે? આપણાં લીધે તો લખ્યું છે, કે જે ખેડે છે તે આશાથી ખેડે અને જે મસળે છે તે ફળ પામવાની આશાથી તે કરે.
11 If we have sown spiritual blessings among you, is it too much if we reap material benefits from you?
૧૧જો અમે તમારે માટે આત્મિક બાબતો વાવી છે, તો અમે તમારી શરીર ઉપયોગી બાબતો લણીએ એ કઈ વધારે પડતું કહેવાય?
12 If others have a share in this right over you, do not we have it even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure everything so that we may not give any hindrance to the gospel of Christ.
૧૨જો બીજાઓ તમારા પરના એ હકનો લાભ લે છે તો તેઓના કરતા અમે વિશેષે દાવેદાર નથી શું? તોપણ એ હકનો અમે ઉપયોગ કર્યો નથી, પણ ખ્રિસ્તની સુવાર્તાને કંઈ અટકાવરૂપ ન થવાય માટે અમે સર્વ સહન કરીએ છીએ.
13 Do you not know that those who perform sacred services eat of the temple sacrifices, and those who attend to the altar have a share in the altar sacrifices?
૧૩એ શું તમે નથી જાણતા કે જેઓ ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં સેવાનું કામ કરે છે તેઓ સભાસ્થાનનું ખાય છે; જેઓ યજ્ઞવેદીની સેવા કરે છે, તેઓ યજ્ઞવેદીના અર્પણના ભાગીદાર છે એ શું તમે નથી જાણતા?
14 In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should earn their living by the gospel.
૧૪એમ જ પ્રભુએ ઠરાવ્યું કે, જેઓ સુવાર્તા પ્રગટ કરે છે, તેઓ સુવાર્તાથી પોતાનું ગુજરાન ચલાવે.
15 But I have not used any of these rights, and I am not writing this so that such may be done in my case. For I would rather die than have anyone deprive me of my reason for boasting.
૧૫પણ એવો કશો વહીવટ મેં નથી કર્યો; મને એવા લાભ મળે તે માટે હું આ લખું છું એવું નથી. કેમ કે કોઈ મારું અભિમાન કરવાનું કારણ વ્યર્થ કરે, એ કરતાં મરવું તે મારે માટે બહેતર છે.
16 If I preach the gospel, I have no reason to boast, because I am compelled to preach, and woe to me if I do not preach the gospel.
૧૬કેમ કે જો હું સુવાર્તા પ્રગટ કરું, તો મારા માટે એ ગર્વનું કારણ નથી; કેમ કે એ મારી ફરજ છે, અને જો હું સુવાર્તા પ્રગટ ન કરું, તો મને અફસોસ છે.
17 If I do this voluntarily, I have a reward; but if I do it under compulsion, it is because I have been entrusted with a responsibility.
૧૭જો હું ખુશીથી તે પ્રગટ કરું, તો મને બદલો મળે છે; પણ જો ખુશીથી ના કરું, તો મને એનો કારભાર સોંપવામાં આવ્યો છે.
18 What then is my reward? That when I preach, I may present the gospel of Christ free of charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.
૧૮માટે મને શો બદલો છે? એ કે સુવાર્તા પ્રગટ કરતાં હું ખ્રિસ્તની સુવાર્તા મફત પ્રગટ કરું, એ માટે કે સુવાર્તામાં મારો જે અધિકાર તેનો હું પૂરેપૂરો લાભ લઉં નહિ.
19 For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, in order to win as many as possible.
૧૯કેમ કે સર્વથી સ્વતંત્ર હોવા છતાં હું સર્વનો દાસ થયો કે જેથી ઘણાં મનુષ્યોને બચાવું.
20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, so that I might win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law, so that I might win those under the law.
૨૦યહૂદીઓ માટે હું યહૂદી જેવો થયો કે જેથી યહૂદીઓને બચાવું; નિયમશાસ્ત્રને આધીન લોકો માટે હું નિયમશાસ્ત્રને આધીન મનુષ્ય જેવો થયો કે જેથી નિયમશાસ્ત્રને આધીન લોકોને બચાવું.
21 To those outside the law I became like one outside the law (though I am not outside the law of God but under the law of Christ), so that I might win those outside the law.
૨૧નિયમશાસ્ત્રરહિત લોકો માટે નિયમશાસ્ત્રરહિત મનુષ્ય જેવો થયો; જોકે હું પોતે ઈશ્વરનાં નિયમશાસ્ત્રરહિત નહિ પણ ખ્રિસ્તનાં નિયમશાસ્ત્રને આધીન છું;
22 To the weak I became like one who is weak, so that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that by all means I might save some.
૨૨નિર્બળોની સાથે હું નિર્બળ થયો કે જેથી નિર્બળોને બચાવું. સર્વની સાથે સર્વના જેવો થયો છું કે જેથી હું સર્વ રીતે કેટલાકને બચાવું.
23 I do this for the sake of the gospel, so that I may share in its blessings.
૨૩હું સુવાર્તાને લીધે બધું કરું છું, એ માટે કે હું તેનો સહભાગી થાઉં.
24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.
૨૪શું તમે નથી જાણતા કે શરતમાં દોડનારાં સર્વ તો ઇનામને માટે દોડે છે, પણ ઇનામ એકને જ મળે છે? તમે એવું દોડો કે ઈનામ તમને મળે.
25 Every athlete who competes exercises self-control in all things. They do so to receive a perishable wreath, but we do so to receive an imperishable crown.
૨૫પ્રત્યેક પહેલવાન સર્વ પ્રકારે સ્વદમન કરે છે; તેઓ તો વિનાશી મુગટ પામવા માટે એવું કરે છે; પણ આપણે અવિનાશી મુગટ પામવા માટે.
26 Therefore I do not run aimlessly, nor do I box as though beating the air;
૨૬એ માટે હું એવી રીતે દોડું છું, પણ શંકા રાખનારની જેમ નહિ; હું મુક્કેબાજ છું પણ હવામાં મુક્કા મારનારના જેવો નહિ.
27 but I discipline my body and make it my slave, lest somehow after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
૨૭હું મારા શરીરને શિસ્ત તથા સંયમમાં રાખું છું, રખેને બીજાઓને સુવાર્તા પ્રગટ કર્યા છતાં કદાચ હું પોતે પડતો મુકાઉં.
