< 1 Corinthians 8 >
1 Now concerning food sacrificed to idols, we know that “we all have knowledge.” Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
Sambano kwa ngani ja yakulya yetaje mbopesi kwa inyago tukumanyilila kuti wose tukwete umanyilisi. Umanyilisi ukututendekasya tulilape twachinsyene nambo unonyelo ukutugumba.
2 If anyone thinks he knows something, he has not yet come to know anything as he ought to know it.
Mundu aganisyaga kuti akuchimanyilila chindu, nganaŵe kuchimanyilila chachili chose mpela yakuti pakusachilwa kwimanyilila.
3 But if anyone loves God, he is known by God.
Nambo iŵaga mundu akunnonyela Akunnungu, akumanyika ni Akunnungu.
4 With regard then to eating food sacrificed to idols, we know that “an idol is nothing in the world,” and that “there is no other God but one.”
Nipele, kwa ngani ja yakulya yetaje mbopesi kwa inyago tukwimanyilila kuti inyago ngaŵa chindu pachilambo, ni kuti ngapagwa Akunnungu ŵane ikaŵe Akunnungu ŵamo pe.
5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”),
Namuno ipali indu yejinji yati ŵandu akuiŵilanga minnungu, pachilambo pano ni kwinani, namuno kwana minnungu ni achambuje ŵajinji,
6 for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we exist for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we exist through him.
nambo kukwetuwe Akunnungu ali ŵamo pe ŵaali Atati jwagumbile yose, ni uweji tukutama kwa ligongo lya ŵelewo. Sooni tukwete Ambuje ŵamo pe ŵelewo ali Che Yesu Kilisito, kwalitala lya ŵelewo indu yose yagumbikwe, noweji tukutama kwalitala lya ŵelewo.
7 However, not everyone possesses this knowledge. But some have idols in their conscience even now and eat such food as something sacrificed to idols, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled.
Nambo ngaŵa kila mundu jwakwimanyilila yose yi, ŵandu ŵane ŵasyoŵelele kutaga mbopesi kwa inyago, mpaka sambano alyaga chakulya cho akuganisya chili cha inyago. Pakuwa miningwa jao jili jakulepetala akuliganisya kuti akulisakasya kwakulya chakulya cho.
8 But food does not bring us close to God. For we are no better off if we eat, and no worse off if we do not eat.
Chakulya ngachikukombola kutujausya chiŵandi ni Akunnungu, twalekaga kulya ngapagwa chachikutusoŵa, ni twalyaga ngapagwa chachikonjecheka kukwetu.
9 But be careful that this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.
Nambo nlilolechesye ni kulechelelwa kwenu, nkaika kwatendekasya ŵaali ni chikulupi cha kulepetala kwinjila mu sambi.
10 For if someone sees yoʋ, who have knowledge, reclining for a meal in the temple of an idol, will not his weak conscience be emboldened to eat food sacrificed to idols?
Pakuŵa mundu jwaali ni chikulupi chakulepetala, ammonaga mmwe junkwimanyilila nkulya mu nyuumba ja inyago, ana ngasanyengeka nombejo kulya yakulya yetaje mbopesi kwa inyago?
11 Should the weak brother, for whose sake Christ died, perish because of yoʋr knowledge?
Kwayele, mundu jwaali ni chikulupi chakulepetala chasocheye kwa ligongo lya umanyilisi wenu, ni Kilisito ŵawile kwa liwamba lya jwelejo!
12 When you sin in this way against your brothers and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.
Iŵaga nkwasoyasya achinjenu ŵakunkulupilila Kilisito kwanti yeleyo, ni kujiulasya miningwa jao jakulepetala, nkwaleŵela Kilisito.
13 Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will certainly never eat meat, so that I will not cause my brother to stumble. (aiōn )
Nipele chakulya chankuŵasyaga njangu jwakunkulupilila Kilisito ajinjile mu sambi, ngangulya nyama ng'o, pakuŵa nalyaga chinanneŵesye njangu jwakunkulupilila Kilisito ajinjile mu sambi. (aiōn )
