1 Corinthians 12
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed.
Pero sobre los dones del espíritu, mis hermanos no quiero que ustedes vivan en ignorancia.
2 You know that when you were pagans you were somehow enticed and led astray to mute idols.
Ustedes saben que cuando todavía no eran creyentes, eran arrastrados ciegamente, tras imágenes sin voz ni poder.
3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can call Jesus Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
Por lo tanto, es mi deseo que ustedes tengan entendimiento sobre esto; que nadie puede decir por el Espíritu de Dios que Jesús es maldito; y nadie puede decir que Jesús es Señor, sino por el Espíritu Santo.
4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;
Ahora hay diversidad de dones, pero el mismo Espíritu.
5 and there are varieties of ministries, but the same Lord;
Y hay diferentes tipos de servicio, pero el mismo Señor.
6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers all of them in everyone.
Y hay diversidad operaciones, pero el mismo Dios, que está trabajando todas las cosas en todos.
7 A manifestation of the Spirit is given to each person for the benefit of all.
Pero a cada hombre se le da una forma de trabajo del Espíritu para el bien común.
8 To one person there is given a word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another a word of knowledge according to the same Spirit,
Porque a uno se le dan palabras de sabiduría por medio del Espíritu; y a otras palabras de conocimiento por el mismo Espíritu:
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit,
a otra fe en el mismo Espíritu; y a otro el poder de sanidades, por el mismo Espíritu;
10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.
Y a otro el hacer milagros; y a otro profecía; y a otro discernimiento de espíritus; a otro diversidad géneros de lenguas; y a otro interpretación de las lenguas:
11 All these gifts are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who distributes to each person individually just as he wills.
Pero todas estas son las operaciones del mismo Espíritu, que le dan a cada hombre por separado como a él mejor le parece.
12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members constitute one body even though they are many, so it is with Christ.
Porque como el cuerpo es uno, y tiene varias partes, y todas las partes forman un cuerpo, así es Cristo.
13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we have all been given to drink into one Spirit.
Porque a través del bautismo del único Espíritu fuimos todos formados en un solo cuerpo, judíos o griegos, siervos o hombres libres, y todos se nos dio a beber de un mismo Espíritu.
14 Even so the body does not consist of one member, but many.
Porque el cuerpo no es una parte, sino varias partes.
15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” is it for that reason not a part of the body?
Si el pie dice: Porque no soy la mano, no soy parte del cuerpo; no es menos una parte del cuerpo.
16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,” is it for that reason not a part of the body?
Y si la oreja dice: Porque no soy ojo, no soy parte del cuerpo; por eso no será del cuerpo?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
Si todo el cuerpo fuera un ojo, ¿dónde estaría el oído? si todo fuese oído, ¿dónde estaría el olfato?
18 But as it is, God has placed each one of the members in the body just as he desired.
Pero ahora Dios ha puesto cada una de las partes en el cuerpo como a él le agrada.
19 If they were all one member, where would the body be?
Y si todos fueran una parte, ¿dónde estaría el cuerpo?
20 As it is, there are many members, yet one body.
Pero ahora son todas partes diferentes, pero un cuerpo.
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of yoʋ,” nor in turn can the head say to the feet, “I have no need of you.”
Y es posible que el ojo no le diga a la mano: No te necesito; ni tampoco la cabeza a los pies; no te necesito.
22 On the contrary, the members of the body that seem to be weaker are essential,
No, las partes que parecen ser débiles son más necesarias;
23 and the members of the body that we consider to be less honorable are clothed with more abundant honor. And our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty,
Y a aquellas partes del cuerpo que parecen tener menos honor damos mucho más honor; y a esas partes del cuerpo que son causa de vergüenza para nosotros, le damos mayor modestia;
24 but our presentable parts have no need of it. Instead, God has put the body together, giving more abundant honor to the part that lacked it,
Pero aquellas partes del cuerpo que son bellas no necesitan de tal cuidado: y así el cuerpo ha sido unido por Dios de tal manera que le da más honor a las partes que lo necesitan;
25 so that there would be no divisions in the body, but that the members would have the same concern for one another.
Para que no haya división en el cuerpo; pero todas las partes pueden tener el mismo cuidado el uno por el otro.
26 If one member suffers, all the other members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the other members rejoice with it.
Y si hay dolor en una parte del cuerpo, todas las partes lo sentirán; o si se honra una parte, todas las partes se alegrarán.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and individually members of it.
Ahora tú eres el cuerpo de Cristo, y cada uno de ustedes partes separadas de él.
28 And those whom God has appointed in the church are as follows: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, next miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, leading, and various kinds of tongues.
Y Dios ha puesto a algunos en la iglesia, primero, Apóstoles; segundo, profetas; tercero, maestros; los que hacen milagros, luego aquellos que sanan, los que ayudan, los que administran, los que tienen don de lenguas.
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
¿Son todos apóstoles? ¿Todos son profetas? ¿Son todos maestros? todos tienen el poder de hacer milagros?
30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?
¿Todos Tienen dones de sanidad? Hablan todos en lenguas? ¿Interpretan todos?
31 No, but earnestly desire the better gifts. And now I will show you a far more excellent way.
Pero ambicionen los mejores dones. Pero yo les muestro un camino aún más excelente.
