< 1 Corinthians 1 >

1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
Paulo, uveelangiwe nu Klisite Yesu ukhuva nsuhiwa khu lugano lwa Nguluve, nu Sosthene ulukholo lwetu,
2 to the church of God in Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be saints, together with all who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:
khu mpelela ugwa Nguluve ugule khu Korinto, khu vavo vemekhiwe ndi tawa lya Yesu Klisite, vavo velangiwe ukhuva vanu vavalanche. Tukhovasimbela voni vavo viholetambula elitawa lya Nkhulude va vetu Yesu Klisite poponi, Nkhuludeva vavene nufwe.
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ulukhungu nu lulundamano luve khulyomwe ukhuhuma khwa Nguluve dada vetu na Nkhuludeva vetu Yesu Klisite.
4 I always give thanks to my God for you because of the grace of God that has been given to you in Christ Jesus.
Amanchova gooni nikhonsana uNguluve vango, khulyomwe ulwa khuva uluhungu lwa Nguluve yeyo u Klisite avapile.
5 For you have been enriched in him in every way, in all speech and all knowledge,
Avavekhile ukhuva vakhavi munjila nchoni, mu njovele na masage gooni.
6 just as the testimony of Christ was confirmed among you,
Avavekhile avakhavi, ukhuva vatangeli khwa Klisite ukhuta emekhiwe ukhuva va yelweli mu ndyomwe.
7 so that you are not lacking in any gift as you eagerly await the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ulwa khuva samsigalile khekongelwa fya mepo, ndu mlenuvonogwe uwa hugulila uluvonekhelo lwa Ntwa vetu Yesu Klisite.
8 He will strengthen you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Alavakhangancha umwe isikhu nchoni, msite ukhudukhiwa palinchuva lya Ntwa vetu Yesu Klisite.
9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
U Nguluve anyakhesa yoywa avaelangile umwe ndulundamano lwa nswambe Yesu Kliste Untwa viitu.
10 Now I urge you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be knit together in the same mind and in the same purpose.
Leno nikhovadova valokolo vangu numwe vakhancha vangu, mu litawa lya Ntwa vitu Yesu Klisite, ukhuta mwedekhe vuve vwusipali uvwusongelekhani khulyomwe. Nikhovadova ukhuta muve pupaninie nu uvunogwe.
11 For it has been disclosed to me about you, my brothers, by those of Chloe's household, that there are quarrels among you.
Avanu avambujeenge uvwa Kloe vambolile ukhuta kuna mgawanyiko unaoendelea miongoni mwenu.
12 What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul,” while another says, “I follow Apollos,” or, “I follow Cephas,” or, “I follow Christ.”
Vambolile ukhuta, “One nele va Paulo,” apange “One nele va Apolo”, apange “One nele va Kefa” apange “One nele va Klisite”.
13 Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you, or were you baptized into the name of Paul?
Khukhuta u Klisite alepo pingi? Khukhuta u Paulo atoveleliwe pa khidaming'ani? apange mwaonchiwe khulitawa la Paulo?
14 I give thanks to God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,
Nikhondemya uNguluve ukhuta sanamwonche umunu uve avinchaga, nikhumbukha Krispo nu Gayo.
15 so that no one may say that I baptized into my own name.
Ele polele ukhuta asipali uveyakheva inchova ukhuta mwaonchiwe khulitawa lango.
16 (I also baptized the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not recall if I baptized anyone else.)
(Navonchinche avambujenge uvwa Stephania. Sanikhumbukha ukhuta namwonchiche umunu uveavenchaga).
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, and not with cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Christ would not be deprived of its power.
Ulwa khuva, uKlisite saansukhe khukhuoncha, nasuhi khulumbilela elimenyu. Saansukhe khulumbelela khu mamenyu aga lukhala lwakhe munu, pwu amakha aga kidaming'ani khya Klisite gasite ukhukhenchiwa.
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Ulwa khuva elimenyu lya kidaming'ani libediwa khu vavo vifwa. Khuvavo u Nguluve ikhovapokha, makha ga Nguluve.
19 For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the intelligence of the intelligent I will nullify.”
Ulwa khuva yesimbiwe, “Yaninangania ulukhala lwa vamanyi. Yaninangania uvumanyi vwa vanyalukhala.”
20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of this world foolish? (aiōn g165)
Alendakhu umunu unyaluhala? Alendakhu umwembi? Alendakhu unchofi uva khelunga ehee? U Nguluve syaasyetwile ulukhala lwa khelunga ehe ukhuva vwukhonyofu? (aiōn g165)
21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of our proclamation to save those who believe.
Ukhuhuma nkhelunga khevile mu ndokhala lwa kyene savamanye uNguluve mbu khonyofu vwa vene uvwa khulumbelela nu khuvapokha vavo vikhwedekha.
22 For Jews ask for a sign and Greeks seek wisdom,
Khu Wayahudi vivoncha ifikhwani fya khudega khu Wayunani vilonda ulokhala.
23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Greeks,
Tukhundo mbelela u Klisite yoywa khepencho khu Wayahudi nu khu Wayunani vokhonyofu.
24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Pwu khu vavo vaelangiwe nu Nguluve, ava Yahudi na ava Yunani, tukhondombela u Klisite nda amakha nu lukhala lwa Nguluve.
25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
Ulwa khuva uvokhonyofu vwa Nguluve vule nu lukhala khu vanu, nu uvusitamakha uvwa Nguluve vule na makha ukhulotelela khu vanu.
26 Consider your calling, brothers, that not many of you were wise according to the flesh, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.
Lolaga ulwelango lwa Nguluve khulifwe, luwaoho nuve vakhancha vango. Sa mle vingi yomwe mwale nu lukhala ulwakhe vwu munu. Sa mle vingi yomwe mwale na amakha. Sa mle vingi yomwe mwaholiwe nu uvuvakha.
27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
Ulwa khuva u Nguluve akhalile ifinu ifikhonyofu ifya nkhelunga ili fisusiwe ifinya lukhala. U Nguluve akhalile ekhe vula makha khya nkelunga ukhukesosya ekhenya makha.
28 God chose what is lowly and despised in the world, things that are regarded as nothing, to nullify the things that are regarded as something,
U Nguluve akhekhalile khekhyo khya pasi khekhyo khyabediwagwa nkhelunga. Afikhalile ifinu fifyo safyavaliwe ukhuva finu, nu khufivekha ifinu ifya gaalama.
29 so that no flesh might boast before God.
Avombile evwo pwu ave asipali uvakhweyinula pamikho ga mwene.
30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God, and in whom we have righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.
Pwu ikhyakhevombile Nguluve leno mlegati mwa Klisite Yesu, yoywa avombikhe mmanyani ukhukhuma khwa Nguluve. Ale lweli khulyofwe, uvovalanche nu uvupokhi.
31 Therefore, as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
Inave uluvonekhelo, ndavovwa elimenyu linchova, “Uvikheginia, eginiage mu litawa lya ntwa.”
