Revelation 9
1 And the fifth angel sounded; and I saw a star, which fell from heaven upon the earth. And there was given to him the key of the pit of the abyss. (Abyssos g12)
ⲁ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲙⲁϩⲉ̅ ⳿ⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲥⲁⲗⲡⲓⲍⲓⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲓⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲥⲓⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲁϥϩⲉⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲧⲫⲉ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓϣⲟϣⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯϣⲱϯ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲩⲛ. (Abyssos g12)
2 And he opened the pit of the abyss; and smoke issued from the pit, like the smoke of a furnace that is in blast; and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit. (Abyssos g12)
ⲃ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϣⲉ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϣⲱⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲭⲣⲉⲙⲧⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯϣⲱϯ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲧ⳿ⲭⲣⲉⲙⲧⲥ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲣⲱ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲭⲁⲕⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⳿ⲫⲣⲏ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲁⲏⲣ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲭⲣⲉⲙⲧⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯϣⲱϯ. (Abyssos g12)
3 And out of the smoke, came locusts upon the earth: and power was given them, like that which scorpions have on the earth.
ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ϩⲁⲛ⳿ϣϫⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲭⲣⲉⲙⲧⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϯⲉⲣϣⲓϣⲓ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓϭⲗⲏ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲣϣⲓϣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ.
4 And it was commanded them, that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, nor any herb, nor any tree; but only the persons, who had not the seal of God upon their foreheads.
ⲇ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϫⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙⲉⲣⲁⲇⲓⲕⲓⲛ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓ⳿ⲥⲙⲉϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ϣϣⲏⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲭⲁⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲉⲧⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⳿ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉ ϯ⳿ⲥ⳿ⲫⲣⲁⲅⲓⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ϩⲓ ⲧⲟⲩⲧⲉϩⲛⲓ ⲁⲛ.
5 And it was given them, that they should not kill them, but should torment them five months: and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion, when it striketh a person.
ⲉ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲧⲏⲓⲥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲩ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙϧⲟⲑⲃⲟⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲥⲉϯ⳿ⲙⲕⲁϩ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲉ̅ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲁⲃⲟⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲙⲕⲁϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲟⲩ⳿ⲧϩⲉⲙⲕⲟ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲕϩ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓ⳿ⲧϩⲉⲙⲕⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϩⲁⲛϭⲗⲏ ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲩϣⲁⲛϫⲉⲕϩ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ.
6 And in those days, men will desire death, and will not find it; and they will long to die, and death will fly from them.
ⲋ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲉ ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉⲕⲱϯ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩϫⲉⲙϥ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉⲉⲣⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲛ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉϥⲱⲧ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩ.
7 And the appearance of the locusts was this; they were like the appearance of horses prepared for battle; and on their heads, was, as it were a coronet, resembling gold; and their faces were like the faces of men.
ⲍ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓ⳿ϣϫⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓ⳿ϩⲑⲱⲣ ⲉⲧⲥⲉⲃⲧⲱⲧ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡⲡⲟⲗⲉⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲭⲗⲟⲙ ⲉϥⲧⲟⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⳿ⲧⲁⲫⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲁⲟⲩⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲟⲩϩⲟ ⲉϥⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡϩⲟ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲁϫϩⲓ ⲉⲩⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲛⲁ ⲛⲓⲙⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ.
8 And they had hair, like the hair of women: and their teeth were like those of lions.
ⲏ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲣⲉ ⲡⲟⲩϥⲱⲓ ⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲫⲁ ⲛⲓϩⲓ⳿ⲟⲙⲓ.
9 And they had breastplates, like breastplates of iron: and the sound of their wings, was like the sound of the chariots of many horses rushing into battle.
ⲑ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉⲛϩ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛϧⲉⲗⲓⲃϣ ⳿ⲙⲃⲉⲛⲓⲡⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϯ⳿ⲥⲙⲏ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉⲛϩ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲧ⳿ⲥⲙⲏ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϩⲁⲛϩⲁⲣⲙⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϩⲁⲛ⳿ϩⲑⲱⲣ ⲉⲩⲥⲉⲃⲧⲱⲧ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡⲡⲟⲗⲉⲙⲟⲥ.
10 And they had tails like those of scorpions, and stings; and with their tails they had the power of hurting men five months.
ⲓ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲥⲏⲧ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓϭⲗⲏ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛⲥⲟⲩⲣⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲣⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲉⲣϣⲓϣⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲟⲩⲥⲏⲧ ⳿ⲉⲉⲣⲁⲇⲓⲕⲓⲛ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲉ̅ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲁⲃⲟⲧ.
11 And they had a king over them, the angel of the abyss; and his name, in Hebrew, is Abaddon; and in Greek, his name is Apollyon. (Abyssos g12)
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲉϥⲭⲏ ϩⲓϫⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⳿ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲡⲓⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲩⲛ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲉⲧⲉⲃⲣⲉⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲁⲅⲉⲇⲱⲛ ⳿ⲉϣⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲙⲉϥ ⳿ⲙⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲉⲓⲛⲓⲛ ϫⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲧⲁⲕⲟ. (Abyssos g12)
12 One woe is past; lo, there come yet two woes after them.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲓϩⲟⲩⲓⲧ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲁϥⲥⲓⲛⲓ ⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲉϥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲙⲁϩⲃ̅ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ.
13 And the sixth angel sounded; and I heard a voice from the horns of the golden altar which was before God,
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲁ ⲡⲓⲙⲁϩⲋ̅ ⳿ⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲥⲁⲗⲡⲓⲍⲓⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲓⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩ⳿ⲥⲙⲏ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲧⲁⲡ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲙⲁ ⳿ⲛⲉⲣϣⲱⲟⲩϣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲭⲏ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉ⳿ⲙⲑⲟ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓ⳿ⲑⲣⲟⲛⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ.
14 that said to the sixth angel having a trumpet: Loose the four angels that are bound at the great river Euphrates.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲉϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲙⲁϩⲋ̅ ⳿ⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ϯⲥⲁⲗⲡⲓⲅⲝ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧϥ ϫⲉ ⲃⲉⲗ ⲡⲓⲇ̅ ⳿ⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
15 And the four angels were loosed; who are prepared, for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, to slay the third part of men.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲃⲟⲗⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲓⲇ ⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲁⲩⲥⲟⲛϩⲟⲩ ⲉⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛⲓⲁⲣⲟ ⲉⲩⲫⲣⲁⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲥⲉⲃⲧⲱⲧ ⳿ⲉϯⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲁⲃⲟⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲥⲉϧⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⳿ⲙⲫⲣⲉⲅ̅ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ.
16 And the number of the warrior horsemen was two myriads of myriads: and I heard their number.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲧⲏⲡⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓ⳿ⲥⲧⲁⲧⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓϩⲩⲡⲡⲓⲕⲟⲛ ⳿ⲑⲃⲁ ⲃ̅ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛ⳿ⲑⲃⲁ ⲛⲉ ⲁⲓⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲏⲡⲓ.
17 And while I looked on the horses in the vision, and on them who sat on them I saw that the breastplates were of fire, and of jacinth, and of sulphur. And the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and from their mouths issued fire, and smoke, and sulphur.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲓⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓ⳿ϩⲑⲟⲣ ϧⲉⲛ ϯϩⲟⲣⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲧϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ϩⲓϫⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϩⲁⲛϧⲉⲗⲓⲃϣ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲭⲣⲱⲙ ⲧⲟⲓ ϩⲓⲱⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩϩⲩⲁⲕⲓⲛⲑⲓⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛⲑⲏⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲧⲁⲫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓ⳿ϩⲑⲱⲣ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲧⲁⲫⲉ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛⲙⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲉⲩⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⳿ⲭⲣⲱⲙ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲭⲣⲉⲙⲧⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲑⲏⲛ.
18 And by these three plagues, a third part of the men were slain; namely, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the sulphur, which issued from their mouths.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲁⲓⲅ̅ ⳿ⲛⲉⲣϧⲟⲧ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⳿ⲫⲣⲉⲅ̅ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲭⲣⲱⲙ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯ⳿ⲭⲣⲉⲙⲧⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲑⲏⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲣⲱⲟⲩ.
19 For the power of the horses was in; their mouth, and in their tails; for their tails were like serpents, having heads to strike with.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅⳿ⲡⲉⲣϣⲓϣⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓ⳿ϩⲑⲱⲣ ⲛⲁϥⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲟⲩⲥⲏⲧ ⲡⲟⲩⲥⲏⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲁϥⲟⲛⲓ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛ⳿ϩϥⲱ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϩⲁⲛ⳿ⲁⲫⲉ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲩⲉⲣⲁⲇⲓⲕⲓⲛ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲉ̅ ⳿ⲛⲁⲃⲟⲧ.
20 And the residue of men who were not slain by these plagues, repented not of the works of their hands, so as not to worship demons, and idols of gold, and of silver, and brass, and stone, and wood, which cannot see, nor hear.
ⲕ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲡⲥⲉⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲁⲓⲉⲣϧⲱⲧ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉⲣⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓ⳿ϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲟⲩϫⲓϫ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲩ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲓϧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲓⲇⲱⲗⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓϩⲁⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓϩⲟⲙⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓϣⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲱⲛⲓ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⳿ϣϫⲟⲙ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲙⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲙⲟϣⲓ.
21 And they repented not of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their whoredom, nor of their thefts.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉⲣⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲟⲩϧⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲫⲁϧⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛϩⲓⲕ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲟⲣⲛⲓⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲱϥ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲟⲩϭⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ
