Revelation 17
1 Then came one of the seven angels who have the seven cups, and talked with me, saying: Come, I will show thee the judgment of the great harlot, who sitteth upon many waters;
ⲁ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲍ̅ ⳿ⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉ ϯⲍ̅ ⳿ⲙⲫⲩⲁⲗⲏ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲏⲓ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁⲧⲁⲙⲟⲕ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϩⲁⲡ ⳿ⲛϯⲛⲓϣϯ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲣⲛⲏ ⲑⲏ ⲉⲧϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲙⲏϣ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ.
2 with whom the kings of the earth have practised whoredom, and the inhabitants of the earth have been inebriated with the wine of her whoredom.
ⲃ̅ⲑⲏ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲉⲣⲡⲟⲣⲛⲉⲩⲓⲛ ⲁⲩⲑⲓϧⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲏⲣⲡ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲧⲉⲥⲡⲟⲣⲛⲓⲁ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲏⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ.
3 And he led me in spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sitting on a red beast of prey, which was full of names of blasphemy, and had seven heads and ten horns.
ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲟⲗⲧ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϣⲁϥⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲓⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩ⳿ⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲉⲥϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲑⲏ ⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛⲕⲟⲕⲕⲟⲥ ⲉϥⲙⲉϩ ⳿ⲛⲣⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛϫⲉⲟⲩ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲍ̅ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲁⲫⲉ ϩⲓϫⲱϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲓ̅ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁⲡ.
4 And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and gilded with gold, and precious stones, and pearls; and she had a cup of gold in her hand, which was full of the pollutions and impurity of her whoredoms of the earth.
ⲇ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϯ⳿ⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲛⲁⲥϫⲟⲗϩ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩ⳿ϩⲃⲱⲥ ⳿ⲛϭⲏϫⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲕⲟⲕⲕⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲥⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲓⲉⲃ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲃ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲱⲛⲓ ⲉⲧⲧⲁⲓⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛⲁⲛⲁⲙⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲫⲟⲧ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲃ ϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲥϫⲓϫ ⲉϥⲙⲉϩ ⳿ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲥⲱϥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲧⲉⲥⲡⲟⲣⲛⲓⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲧⲏⲣϥ.
5 And upon her forehead was the name written: Mystery: Babylon the great; the Mother of Harlots, and of the contaminations of the Earth.
ⲉ̅⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲁⲛ ⳿ⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ϩⲓ ⲧⲉⲥⲧⲉϩⲛⲓ ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲙⲩⲥⲧⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲑⲃⲁⲃⲩⲗⲱⲛ ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲡⲟⲣⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲥⲁϥϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ.
6 And I saw that the woman was intoxicated with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And when I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.
ⲋ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲓⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩ⳿ⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲉⲥⲑⲁϧⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲁⲅⲓⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲙⲁⲣⲧⲩⲣⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲓⲉⲣ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣⲓ.
7 And the Angel said to me, Why dost thou wonder? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast of prey that beareth her, which hath the seven heads and the ten horns.
ⲍ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲓ ϫⲉ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲁⲕⲉⲣ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲛⲁⲧⲁⲙⲟⲕ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲙⲩⲥⲧⲏ ⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯ⳿ⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲑⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲧϥⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ϯⲍ̅ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲁⲫⲉ ϩⲓϫⲱϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲓ̅ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁⲡ.
8 The beast of prey which thou sawest, was, and is not; and he will ascend from the abyss and go into perdition: and the dwellers on the earth, whose names are not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will wonder when they see the beast of prey, which was, and is not, and approacheth. ⲏ̅ⲡⲓⲑⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲕⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉϥϣⲟⲡ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ϥϣⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲉϥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϥⲛⲁ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉⲉⲣ⳿ϣⲫⲏ ⲣⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲏⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲁⲛ ⳿ⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲁⲛ ϩⲓ ⳿ⲡϫⲱⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲱⲛϧ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡϣⲁ ⳿ⲛⲥⲱⲛⲧ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲩϫⲟⲩϣⲧ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲑⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛⲏ ϫⲉ ⳿ϥϣⲟⲡ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ϥϣⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϩⲉⲓ. (Abyssos g12)
9 Here is intelligence, for him who hath wisdom. Those seven heads are the seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
ⲑ̅ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲕⲁϯ ⳿ⲉϯⲍ̅ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲁⲫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ ⲉⲣⲉ ϯ⳿ⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ϩⲓϫⲱⲟⲩ.
10 And there are seven kings: of whom five have fallen, one exists, and the other hath not yet come; and when he cometh he must continue for a short time.
ⲓ̅ⲛⲁⲓ ⲍ̅ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲉ ⲡⲓⲉ̅ ⲁⲩϩⲉⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲭⲉⲧ ⳿ϥⲱⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉϥ⳿ⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲁϥϣⲁⲛ⳿ⲓ ⳿ϥⲛⲁⲟϩⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ.
11 And the beast of prey, which was and is not, is the eighth, and is from the seven, and is for perdition.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲑⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁϥϣⲟⲡ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϥϣⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ϩⲱϥ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲍ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ϥⲛⲁ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡⲧⲁⲕⲟ.
12 And the ten horns which thou sawest, are ten kings. These persons have not yet received royalty; but they receive authority, as if kings, with the beasts of prey, for one hour.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲓ̅ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁⲡ ⲉⲧⲁⲕⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲓ̅ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲧⲟⲩϭⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲣϣⲓϣⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲓⲑⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ.
13 They have one mind; and they will give their power and authority unto the beast of prey.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩ⳿ⲅⲛⲱⲙⲏ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲉⲣϣⲓϣⲓ ⲧⲟⲩϫⲟⲙ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲧⲏⲓⲥ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲑⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ.
14 They will make war upon the Lamb; and the Lamb will vanquish them; because he is Lord of lords, and King of kings, and these with him are called and chosen and faithful.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉⲃⲱⲧⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓϩⲓⲏⲃ ⲉϥϭⲣⲟ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲡⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓ⳪ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲑⲁϩⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲥⲱⲧⲡ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ.
15 And he said to me: The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲏⲓ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁⲕⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲉ ϯ⳿ⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ϩⲓϫⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲁⲛⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛⲙⲏϣ ⳿ⲛⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ.
16 And the ten horns which thou sawest, and the beast of prey, will hate the harlot; and they will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲓ̅ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁⲡ ⲉⲧⲁⲕⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲑⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉⲙⲉⲥⲧⲉ ϯⲡⲟⲣⲛⲏ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϣⲱϥ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲭⲁⲥ ⲉⲥⲃⲏϣ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲉⲥⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲕϩⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲭⲣⲱⲙ.
17 For God hath put into their hearts, to do his pleasure, and to execute one purpose, and to give their kingdom to the beast of prey, until these words of God shall be fulfilled.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲫϯ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁϥⲧⲏⲓⲥ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉⲡⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥ⳿ⲅⲛⲱⲙⲏ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲑⲣⲟⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲅⲛⲱⲙⲏ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⳿ⲉϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲑⲏ ⲣⲓⲟⲛ ϣⲁⲧⲟⲩϫⲱⲕ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ.
18 And the woman whom thou sawest, is the great city, which hath dominion over the kings of the earth.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϯ⳿ⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲕⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϯ ⲛⲓϣϯ ⳿ⲙⲃⲁⲕⲓ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲏ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛⲧⲉⲥ ⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ
