Philippians 1
1 PAUL and Timothy, servants of Jesus the Messiah, to all the saints that are in Jesus the Messiah at Philippi, with the elders and deacons.
Paulo e Timóteo, servos de Cristo Jesus, a todos os santos em Cristo Jesus, que estão em Filipos, com os supervisores e servidores.
2 Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from our Lord Jesus the Messiah.
Haja convosco a graça e paz de Deus nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
3 I thank my God at the constant recollection of you,
Agradeço ao meu Deus todas as vezes que me lembro de vós,
4 in all my prayers respecting you; and while I rejoice, I adore;
sempre em todas as minhas orações, com alegria, fazendo oração por todos vós,
5 on account of your fellowship in the gospel, from the first day until now.
por causa da vossa cooperação com o Evangelho desde o primeiro dia até agora.
6 Because I am confident of this, that he who hath begun the good works in you, will accomplish them until the day of our Lord Jesus the Messiah.
E disto tenho certeza: aquele que começou a boa obra em vós irá completá-la até o dia de Cristo Jesus.
7 For thus it is right for me to think of you all, because ye are permanently in my heart, and because, both in my bonds and in the vindication of the truth of the gospel, ye are my associates in grace.
Para mim é justo eu sentir isso de todos vós, pois vos tenho no coração, porque todos vós sois participantes comigo da graça, tanto nas minhas prisões, como na defesa e confirmação do Evangelho.
8 For God is my witness, how I love you in the bowels of Jesus the Messiah.
Pois Deus é minha testemunha de como sinto saudades de todos vós, com o afeto de Jesus Cristo.
9 And this I pray for, that your love may still increase and abound, in knowledge, and In all spiritual understanding:
E isto oro: que o vosso amor seja mais e mais abundante em conhecimento e em toda percepção,
10 so that ye may discern the things that are suitable; and may be pure and without offence, in the day of the Messiah,
para que aproveis as melhores coisas, a fim de que sejais sinceros, sem ofensa, até o dia de Cristo;
11 and be full of the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus the Messiah, to the praise and glory of God.
cheios do fruto da justiça, que, por meio de Jesus Cristo, é para glória e louvor a Deus.
12 And I would that ye might know, my brethren, that the transaction in regard to me, hath eventuated rather for the furtherance of the gospel;
Mas quero, irmãos, que saibais que as coisas me aconteceram foram para o avanço do Evangelho,
13 so that my bonds, on account of the Messiah, are matter of notoriety in all the court, and to all others.
de maneira que se tornou evidente a toda a guarda pretoriana, e a todos os demais, que as minhas prisões são em Cristo;
14 And many of the brethren in our Lord have become confident, on account of my bonds, and are more bold to speak the word of God without fear.
e que a maioria dos irmãos no Senhor, depois de ganharem confiança com as minhas prisões, ousam falar a Palavra de Deus muito mais, sem medo.
15 And they herald it, some from envy and contention; but others with good will, and with love for the Messiah;
É verdade que também alguns pregam a Cristo por inveja e rivalidade, porém outros, também, de boa vontade.
16 because they know that I am appointed for the vindication of the gospel.
Uns em verdade anunciam a Cristo por amor, sabendo que fui posto para a defesa do Evangelho.
17 And they who herald the Messiah in contention, do it not sincerely; but they hope to add pressure to my bonds.
Mas outros [anunciam] por rivalidade egoísta, não sinceramente, supondo que irão acrescentar aflição às minhas prisões.
18 And in this I have rejoiced, and do rejoice, that in every form, whether in pretence or in truth, the Messiah is heralded.
Que, pois? Contanto que de qualquer maneira, ou com fingimento, ou em verdade, Cristo seja anunciado; e nisto me alegro, e continuarei a me alegrar;
19 For I know, that these things will be found conducive to my life, through your prayers and the gift of the Spirit of Jesus the Messiah.
pois sei que isso me resultará em livramento pela vossa oração e pelo socorro do Espírito de Jesus Cristo;
20 So that I hope and expect, that I shall in nothing be put to shame; but with uncovered face, as at all times, so now, the Messiah will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
conforme a minha intensa expectativa e esperança, de que em nada me envergonharei. Ao contrário, com toda a confiança, como sempre, assim também agora Cristo será engrandecido no meu corpo, seja pela vida, seja pela morte.
21 For my life is, the Messiah; and if I die, it is gain to me.
Pois, para mim, o viver é Cristo, e o morrer é lucro.
22 But if I have fruits of my labors in this life of the flesh, I know not what I shall choose.
Mas, se este viver na carne for o fruto do meu trabalho, então não sei o que prefiro,
23 For the two press upon me: I desire to be liberated, that I may be with the Messiah; and this would be very advantageous to me.
pois estou pressionado por ambos [os lados]: tenho desejo de ser desligado, e estar com Cristo, o que é muito melhor;
24 But also the business in regard to you, urges upon me to remain in the body.
entretanto, ficar na carne é mais necessário por causa de vós.
25 And this I confidently know, that I shall continue and remain, for your joy, and for the furtherance of your faith;
E nisto confio e sei, que ficarei, e continuarei com todos vós, para que avanceis, e vos alegreis na fé;
26 so that when I come again to you, your glorying, which is in Jesus the Messiah only, will abound through me.
a fim de que a vossa alegria em Cristo Jesus seja abundante, por causa de mim, através da minha presença, de volta, convosco.
27 Let your conduct be as becometh the gospel of the Messiah; so that if I come I may see you, and if absent I may hear of you, that ye stand fast in one spirit and in one soul, and that ye strive together in the faith of the gospel.
Tão somente procedei de maneira digna do Evangelho de Cristo, para que, seja quando eu venha e vos veja, seja ausente, ouça a vosso respeito de que estais num mesmo espírito, com um mesmo ânimo, combatendo juntos pela fé do Evangelho;
28 And in nothing be ye startled, by those who rise up against us; which is an indication of their destruction, and of life for you.
e que em nada vos amedronteis pelos adversários, o que para eles é, de fato, indício de perdição, mas para vós de salvação, e isso vem de Deus.
29 And this is given to you by God, that ye not only really believe in the Messiah, but also that ye suffer on his account;
Pois vos foi dado gratuitamente, quanto a Cristo, não somente o crer nele, mas também o sofrer por ele,
30 and that ye endure conflict, as ye have seen in me, and now hear concerning me.
de maneira que tendes o mesmo combate, que vistes em mim, e agora de mim ouvis.
