Matthew 6
1 Be cautious in your alms-giving, not to perform it before men, so that ye may be seen of them: otherwise, ye have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
“Monhwɛ yie na moanyɛ papa ankyerɛ nnipa, amfa ampɛ animuonyam. Sɛ moyɛ saa a, morennya mfasoɔ biara mfiri mo Agya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no nkyɛn.
2 Therefore, when thou doest alms thou shalt not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get praise from men. Verily I say to you, They have gotten their reward.
“Sɛ woyɛ papa a, mmɔ no dawuro sɛdeɛ nyaatwomfoɔ yɛ wɔ asɔredan mu ne mmɔntene so no. Merema mo ate sɛ, saa nnipa no anya wɔn akatua dada.
3 But thou, when doing alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
Sɛ woyɛ papa a, mma obiara nhunu, mpo sɛ wode wo nsa nifa yɛ papa a, mma wo nsa benkum nhunu,
4 that thy alms may be in secret. And thy Father, who seeth in secret, will reward thee openly.
na wʼagya a ɔnim kɔkoam nsɛm nyinaa no bɛtua wo ka.
5 And when thou prayest. thou shalt not be like the hypocrites, who are fond of standing up in the synagogues and at the corners of streets to pray, so that they may be seen by people. Verily I say to you, they have gotten their reward.
“Ɛfa mpaeɛbɔ ho nso, sɛ morebɔ mpaeɛ a, mommmɔ mpaeɛ sɛdeɛ nyaatwomfoɔ gyina asɔredan mu ne mmɔntene so bɔ mpaeɛ de pɛ nnipa anim animuonyam no. Merema mo ate aseɛ sɛ, saa nnipa no anya wɔn akatua dada.
6 But thou, when thou prayest enter into thy closet and close the door, and pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father, who seeth in secret, will reward thee openly.
Sɛ wobɔ mpaeɛ a, hɔ wo dan mu, na to wo ɛpono mu, na bɔ wʼAgya a wɔnhunu no mpaeɛ, na wʼAgya a ɔnim kɔkoam nsɛm no bɛtua wo ka.
7 And when ye pray, be not garrulous like the heathen; for they expect to be heard for their abundance of words.
Sɛ mobɔ mpaeɛ a, monnkasakasa bebree ntiti nsɛm mu, nsusu sɛ, sɛ moyɛ saa a na Onyankopɔn bɛtie mo.
8 Therefore, be not like them; for your Father knoweth what is needful for you, before ye ask him.
Mo Agya Onyankopɔn nim deɛ ɛhia mo nyinaa ansa na mobisa no.
9 In this manner, therefore, pray ye: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name:
“Enti, saa ɛkwan yi so na momfa mmɔ mpaeɛ: “‘Yɛn Agya a wowɔ ɔsoro, wo din ho nte.
10 Thy kingdom come: Thy will be done; as in heaven, so on earth:
Wʼahennie mmra. Deɛ wopɛ nyɛ hɔ wɔ asase so, sɛdeɛ ɛteɛ wɔ ɔsoro.
11 Give us our needful bread, this day:
Ma yɛn yɛn daa aduane ɛnnɛ,
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors:
na fa yɛn bɔne kyɛ yɛn, sɛdeɛ yɛde wɔn a wɔfom yɛn no bɔne kyɛ wɔn no.
13 And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever: Amen.
Mma yɛnkɔ sɔhwɛ mu. Na yi yɛn firi ɔbɔnefoɔ no nsam.’
14 For if ye forgive men their faults, your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you.
Sɛ mode wɔn a wɔfom mo mfomsoɔ kyɛ wɔn a, mo nso mo ɔsoro Agya de mo mfomsoɔ bɛkyɛ mo.
15 But if ye shall not forgive men, your Father also forgiveth not you your faults.
Nanso, sɛ moamfa wɔn a wɔfom mo mfomsoɔ ankyɛ wɔn a, mo ɔsoro Agya no nso remfa mo mfomsoɔ nkyɛ mo.”
16 And when ye fast, be not sad like the hypocrites. For they distort their faces, that they may be seen of men to fast. Verily I say to you, they have gotten their reward.
“Sɛ modi mmuada a, monnyɛ mo anim mmɔbɔmmɔbɔ sɛdeɛ nyaatwomfoɔ mmuada a wɔyɛ de pɛ nnipa anim animuonyam no. Merema mo ate aseɛ sɛ, saa nnipa no anya wɔn akatua dada.
17 But, when thou fastest, wash thou thy face, and anoint thy head:
Sɛ wodi mmuada a, nunu wo tirim, na hohoro wʼanim, na ma wʼanim nyɛ frɔmm,
18 that thou mayest not be seen by men as a faster, but by thy Father who is in secret: and thy Father who seeth in secret, will recompense thee.
na mma nnipa nhunu sɛ woredi mmuada, agye wʼAgya a ɔhunu deɛ woyɛ wɔ kɔkoam nyinaa no nko ara; na wʼAgya a ɔnim kɔkoam nsɛm nyinaa no bɛtua wo ka.
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures on the earth, where moth and rust spoil, and where thieves dig through and steal.
“Monnhyehyɛ mo agyapadeɛ wɔ asase yi so, deɛ ntɛferɛ bɛtumi awe, na ɛbɛtumi awe nnaakye na asɛeɛ, na akorɔmfoɔ bɛtumi awia.
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where no moth and no rust can spoil, and no thieves dig through nor steal.
Mmom, monhyehyɛ mo agyapadeɛ wɔ ɔsoro, deɛ ntɛferɛ ntumi nwe, na ɛntumi nwe nnaakye nsɛeɛ, na akorɔmfoɔ ntumi nwia.
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart also be.
Na deɛ wʼagyapadeɛ wɔ no, ɛhɔ na wʼakoma nso wɔ.
22 The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore thy eye shall be sound, thy whole body will be luminous.
“Ani yɛ onipadua kanea. Ɛno enti sɛ wʼani yɛ a, na wo onipadua nyinaa yɛ hann.
23 But if thy eye shall be diseased, thy whole body will be dark. If then the light that is in thee be darkness, how great will be thy darkness!
Nanso sɛ wʼani nyɛ a, ɛma wo onipadua no nyinaa dane esum tumm. Enti, sɛ hann a ɛwɔ wo mu no yɛ esum deɛ a, na wo onipadua no yɛ esum kabii.
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will honor the one and neglect the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
“Obiara ntumi nsom awuranom baanu; sɛ ɔyɛ saa a, ɔbɛtan ɔbaako, na wadɔ ɔbaako anaasɛ ɔbɛsom ɔbaako yie, na wabu ɔbaako animtia. Morentumi nsom Onyankopɔn ne ahodeɛ.
25 Therefore I say to you: Be not anxious about your life, what ye shall eat, and what ye shall drink; nor about your body, how ye shall clothe yourselves. Is not the life more important than food, and the body than raiment?
“Yei enti na metu mo fo sɛ, monnnwennwene deɛ mobɛdi anaa deɛ mobɛnom anaa deɛ mobɛfira ho. Mowɔ ɔkra ne onipadua a ɛsom bo sene deɛ mobɛdi, deɛ mobɛnom ne deɛ mobɛfira.
26 Look at the birds of heaven; which sow not, and reap not, and gather not into storehouses, but your Father who is in heaven feedeth them. Are not ye more important than they?
Monhwɛ ewiem nnomaa, wɔnnua aba ɛnna wɔntwa aba mmoaboa ano mfa nsie, nanso mo Agya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no ma wɔn aduane di. Monnsom bo nsene wɔn anaa?
27 And who of you that shall be anxious, can add to his stature a cubit?
Mo mu hwan na adwene a ɔdwen no bɛtumi ato ne nkwa nna so simasin?
28 And about raiment, why are ye anxious? Consider the lilies of the desert, in what manner they grow. They toil not; and they spin not.
“Adɛn enti na modwennwene ntoma ho? Monhwɛ afifideɛ bi sɛ sukooko. Wɔnnyɛ adwuma, anaasɛ wɔnwene ntoma ho.
29 Yet I say to you, that not even Solomon in all his glory, was arrayed like one of them.
Nanso, Ɔhene Salomo ahonya ne nʼanimuonyam nyinaa akyi no, na nʼahoɔfɛ nnuru sukooko yi.
30 And if God so clothe the grass of the field, which exists to-day, and tomorrow falls into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, ye small in faith?
Na sɛ Onyankopɔn tumi fira afifideɛ a ɛwɔ hɔ ɛnnɛ na ɔkyena ɛnni hɔ ntoma a, mo a mo gyidie sua, ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na ɔrentumi mma mo deɛ ɛhia mo?
31 Therefore be not anxious; nor say, What shall we eat, or what shall we drink; or wherewith be clothed?
Enti, monnnwennwene deɛ mobɛdie, deɛ mobɛnom anaasɛ deɛ mobɛfira ho.
32 For, all these things the people of the world seek after. And your Father, who is in heaven, knoweth that all these things are needful to you.
Na wɔn a wɔnni gyidie no na ɛberɛ biara wɔdwene saa nneɛma no ho. Na mo deɛ, mo Agya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no nim sɛ yeinom nyinaa ho hia mo.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added to you.
Enti, monhwehwɛ Onyankopɔn Ahennie ne ne tenenee kane, na ɔde deɛ ɛhia mo nyinaa bɛka mo ho.
34 Therefore be not anxious about the morrow: for the morrow hath its own anxieties. Sufficient for the day, is its own evil.
Enti, monnnwennwene ɔkyena ho. Onyankopɔn no ara de deɛ ɛhia mo bɛma mo. Ɛda biara ne mu nsɛm.
