< Matthew 11 >

1 And when Jesus had ended the instructions to his twelve disciples, he went from there, to teach and to proclaim in their cities.
Hottelah a hnukkâbang hlaikahni touh hah kâ a poe hnukkhu, cangkhai hane hoi kamthang pâpho hanelah khopui khote tangkuem koe a cei.
2 Now when John, in the house of prisoners, heard of the works of Messiah, he sent by the hand of his disciples,
Khrih ni a sak e pueng hah Baptisma kapoekung Jawhan ni thongim thung hoi a thai navah, amae a hnukkâbang kahni touh a patoun teh, a ka tho hane teh nang toung na maw.
3 and said to him: Art thou he that cometh, or are we to expect another?
Hoehpawiteh alouke maw ka ngaihawi awh han rah, telah a pacei sak.
4 Jesus answered, and said to them: Go, tell John the things that ye hear and see:
Jisuh ni, Jawhan koe cet roi nateh na thai awh e hoi na hmu awh e pueng hah dei pouh awh, atipouh.
5 the blind see, and the lame walk, and the leprous are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead rise up, and the needy hear good tidings:
Mit kadawnnaw ni kho a hmu awh toe. Kamkhuennaw ni lam a cei awh toe. Ka hrikbeinaw ni a thoung awh toe. Hnâpangnaw ni hnâ a thai awh toe. Kadoutnaw ni a thaw awh toe. Karoedengnaw ni hai lunghawinae kamthang a thai awh toe.
6 and happy is he, who shall not be stumbled at me.
Kai kecu dawk a lung ka pout hoeh e teh a yawhawi telah atipouh.
7 And when they were gone, Jesus began to say to the multitudes, concerning John: What went ye into the wilderness to see? A reed that waved in the wind?
Ahnimouh a cei a hnukkhu, Jisuh ni Jawhan deingainae lahoi rangpuinaw a dei pouh e teh, nangmouh ni bang hmu hane lahoi maw kahrawng na tâco a vaw. Kahlî ni hon a nawi e phonaw khet hanelah maw na tâco awh.
8 And if not; what went ye out to see? A man clothed in delicate robes? Lo, they that are clothed in delicate robes, are in the dwelling of kings.
9 And if not; what went ye out to see? A prophet? Yes, say I to you, and more than a prophet.
Profet khet hanelah maw na cei awh. Bokheiyah. Profet hlak kalen e lah ka o ka ti.
10 For this is he of whom it is written: Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, that he may prepare the way before thee.
Cakathoung dawk thut e teh, khenhaw! na cei nahane lamthung ka rasoun hanelah kaie patoune hah na hmalah ka patoun ati navah ahni doeh a dei ngai nah.
11 Verily I say to you, Among those born of women, there hath not arisen a greater than John the Baptizer: yet the small one in the kingdom of heaven, is greater than he.
Atangcalah ka dei. Napui ni a khe e naw thung dawk Baptisma Jawhan hlak kalen e buet touh boehai kamphawng hoeh rah. Hatei, kalvan uknaeram dawkvah kathoungpounge hah ahni hlak a len han.
12 And from the days of John the Baptizer, until now, the kingdom of heaven is assailed by force, and the violent seize it.
Baptisma Jawhan koehoi kamtawng teh atu totouh kalvan uknaeram hah a kâtuk awh. Kâtuk e naw ni hai thama lah a kâen awh.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied, until the time of John.
Jawhan a pha hoehnahlan totouh kâlawknaw hoi profet lawknaw ni na cangkhai awh.
14 And, if ye are willing, receive ye, that this is he who was to come.
15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear!
16 But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like to children, that sit in the marketplace and call to their associates,
Hete miphunnaw hah bang hoi maw ka bangnue han vai. Pawi koe ka tahung e camonaw hoi a kâvan awh.
17 and say: We have sung to you, and ye did not dance: we have wailed to you, and ye did not lament.
Kahawicalah ratoung tamawi ka tum a haiyah na lam awh hoeh.
18 For John came, not eating and not drinking; and they said, He hath a demon.
Jawhan teh catnet laipalah a tho navah, kahrai ni a man e doeh bout na ti awh.
19 The Son of man came, eating and drinking; and they say: Behold, a gluttonous man, and a wine drinker, and a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified by her works.
Tami Capa teh canei laihoi a tho navah, ka carawng e, misurtui kâso e, tamuk kacawngnaw hoi tamikayonnaw e huiko lah kâsak e bout na ti pouh awh. Hateiteh, a lungangnae ni, a canaw a hlout sak telah a ti.
20 Then began Jesus to reproach the cities, in which his many deeds of power were wrought, yet they repented not.
Hatnavah, athaonae a kamnue saknae khonaw ni pankângainae a tawn awh hoeh dawkvah, hote khonaw hah Jisuh ni a yue.
21 And he said: Woe to thee, Chorazin! Woe to thee, Bethsaida! For if the deeds of power done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, doubtless, they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes.
Oe! Khorazin, na yawthoe. Bethsaida, na yawthoe. Nangmouh koe thaonae hno ka sak e naw hah Taire hoi Sidon khonaw dawkvah ka sak boipawiteh, hotnaw ni buri kâkhu hoi vaiphu kâphuen awh vaiteh, pankângai awh han ei nan toung mah.
22 But I say to you, It will be comfortable for Tyre and Sidon, in the day of judgment, rather than for you.
Atangcalah na dei pouh awh, lawkcengnae hnin dawkvah, nangmouh teh Taire hoi Sidon khonaw hlak na khang awh han.
23 And thou, Capernaum, which hast been lifted up to heaven, shalt be brought down to the grave. For if those deeds of power which were done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have stood to this day.
24 But I say to thee, It will be comfortable for the land of Sodom, in the day of judgment, rather than for thee.
Atangcalah na dei pouh awh. Lawkcengnae hnin dawkvah Sodom kho hlak hoe na khang awh han, atipouh.
25 At that time Jesus answered and said: I praise thee, O my Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and knowing, and hast revealed them to little children.
Hatnavah, Jisuh ni, kalvan hoi talai kaukkung a Pa, nang ni a lungkaangnaw hoi kathoumnaw koe kângairu hnonaw hah na hro teh, camonaw koe na pâpho dawkvah na lungmanae teh ka pholen.
26 Yes, my Father; for so it seemed good before thee.
Oe apa hottelah na ngainae ao.
27 Every thing is given up by my Father to me. And no one knoweth the Son, except the Father. Also, no one knoweth the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son is pleased to reveal him.
Capa hoi Capa ni a kamnue pouh e hloilah apinihai Pa teh panuek hoeh.
28 Come unto me, all ye wearied and heavily burdened, and I will ease you.
29 Take my yoke upon you; and learn from me, that I am gentle and subdued in my heart: and ye will find rest for your souls:
Kaie kahnam hah phawt awh. Kai koe kamtu awh. Kai teh lungdonae hoi lungnemnae lah ka o. Na hringnae ni kâhatnae a hmu han.
30 for my yoke is pleasant, and my burden is light.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, kaie kahnam teh phu a nep. Ka hno hai a pâhaw, atipouh.
