Luke 23
1 And the whole company of them arose, and carried him before Pilate.
Då stod upp hele hopen af dem, och ledde honom bort till Pilatum;
2 And they began to accuse him, and said: We have found this man seducing our people, and forbidding to pay the capitation money to Caesar, and declaring himself to be king Messiah.
Och begynte till att klaga på honom, sägande: Denna hafve vi beslagit dermed, att han förvänder folket, och förbjuder gifva Kejsarenom skatt, och säger sig vara Christus en Konung.
3 And Pilate interrogated him, and said to him: Art thou king of the Jews? He said to him: Thou hast said.
Och Pilatus frågade honom, sägandes: Äst du Judarnas Konung? Då svarade han honom, och sade: Du säger det.
4 And Pilate said to the chief priests and the company: I find no crime upon this man.
Då sade Pilatus till öfversta Presterna, och till folket: Jag finner intet brott med denna mannen.
5 And they vociferated, and said: He raiseth disturbance among our people, by teaching in all Judaea, commencing from Galilee, and quite to this place.
Men de höllo sitt tal fram, sägande: Han gör uppror ibland folket, lärandes öfver allt Judiska landet, begynnandes i Galileen, och sedan allt hit.
6 And Pilate, when he heard the name Galilee, inquired if the man were a Galilean.
Då Pilatus hörde nämnas Galileen, frågade han, om han var en Galileisk man.
7 And having learned that he was from under Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod; for he was at Jerusalem on those days.
Och då han förnam, att han var under Herodis välde, försände han honom till Herodes; ty han var ock i Jerusalem på den tiden.
8 And Herod rejoiced greatly when he saw Jesus, for he had been desirous to see him for a long time, because he had heard many things of him, and he hoped to see some sign from him.
Då Herodes fick se Jesum, vardt han ganska glad; ty han hade i lång tid haft åstundan till att se honom; ty han hade mycket hört om honom, och hoppades få se något tecken göras af honom.
9 And he asked him many questions; but Jesus gave him no reply.
Och han frågade honom om mång stycker; men han svarade honom intet.
10 And the chief priests and Scribes stood up, and accused him vehemently.
Stodo ock öfverste Presterna, och de Skriftlärde, och klagade svårliga på honom.
11 And Herod and his warriors contemned him. And when he had mocked him, he clothed him in a purple robe, and sent him to Pilate.
Men Herodes med sitt folk föraktade honom, och begabbade honom, och klädde honom uti ett hvitt kläde, och sände honom igen till Pilatum.
12 And on that day, Pilate and Herod became friends to each other; for there had previously been enmity between them.
Och Pilatus och Herodes vordo vänner emellan sig på samma dag; ty emellan dem hade tillförene varit ovänskap.
13 And Pilate called the chief priests and the rulers of the people,
Då kallade Pilatus tillhopa de öfversta Presterna, och föreståndarena, och folket;
14 and said to them: Ye have brought this man before me, as a disturber of your people; and lo, I have examined him before you, and I find in the man no crime, among all that ye charge upon him.
Och sade till dem: I hafven fått mig denna mannen, såsom den der hafver förvändt folket; och si, jag hafver förhört honom i edor närvaro, och finner dock ingen af de ogerningar med denna mannen, der I anklagen honom före;
15 Neither yet Herod: for I sent him to him, and lo, nothing deserving death hath been done by him.
Och ej heller Herodes; ty jag försände eder till honom; och si, man kunde intet komma på honom, det döden värdt var.
16 I will therefore chastise him, and release him.
Derföre vill jag näpsan och släppan.
17 For it was a custom, that he should release one at the festival.
Ty han skulle om högtidena gifva dem en lös.
18 And all the company vociferated, and said: Away with this man; and release to us Barabbas.
Då ropade hele hopen, och sade: Tag denna af vägen, och gif oss Barabbam lös;
19 He was one who had been thrown into prison, on account of a sedition and murder which had occurred in the city.
Den der låg i fängelset, för ett upplopps skull, som i staden skedt var, och för ett mandråp.
20 And Pilate, being disposed to release Jesus, conversed with them again.
Åter talade Pilatus till dem, och ville gifva Jesum lös.
21 But they cried out, and said: Crucify him; crucify him.
Då ropade de, och sade: Korsfäst, korsfäst honom.
22 And he said to them the third time: But, what evil hath he done? I find no crime in him deserving of death. I will scourge him, therefore, and release him.
Då sade han tredje resona till dem: Hvad hafver han då illa gjort? Jag finner ingen dödssak med honom; derföre vill jag näpsan, och gifvan lös.
23 But they were urgent, with a loud voice; and demanded of him, that they might crucify him.
Men de lade åt med stort rop, och begärade att han skulle korsfästas; och deras och de öfversta Presternas rop vardt ju mer och mer.
24 And Pilate decreed, that their request be granted.
Då dömde Pilatus, att så ske skulle, som de begärade;
25 And he released to them him, who for sedition and murder had been cast into prison, for whom they petitioned; and he delivered up Jesus to their pleasure.
Och gaf dem lös den i fängelset satt var för upploppets och dråpets skull, den de begärat hade; men Jesum öfverantvardade han deras vilja.
26 And as they led him away, they seized Simon the Cyrenian, coming from the fields. and laid upon him the cross, to bear it after Jesus.
Och då de ledde honom ut, fingo de en fatt, som het Simon af Cyrene, den der kom af markene; honom lade de korset uppå, att han skulle bära det efter Jesum.
27 And there followed after him a great multitude of people; and those women also who wailed and lamented over him.
Men honom följde en stor hop folk, och qvinnor, de der greto och ömkade sig öfver honom.
28 And Jesus turned to them, and said to them: Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me; but weep rather for yourselves, and for your children.
Då vände sig Jesus om till dem, och sade: I Jerusalems döttrar, gråter icke öfver mig; utan gråter öfver eder sjelfva, och öfver edor barn.
29 For lo, the days are coming, in which they will say: Happy the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.
Ty si, de dagar varda kommande, i hvilkom de skola säga: Saliga äro de ofruktsamma, och de qveder som intet födt hafva, och de spenar som ingom hade dia gifvit.
30 Then will they begin to say to the mountains, Fall upon us! and to the hills, Cover us!
Då skola de begynna säga till bergen: Faller öfver oss; och till högarna: Skyler oss.
31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what will be in the dry?
Ty är detta skedt på det färska trät, hvad skall då ske på det torra?
32 And there went along with him two others, malefactors, to be crucified.
Leddes der ock ut två andre ogerningsmän med honom, till att aflifvas.
33 And when they came to a certain place which is called a Skull, they crucified him there; and the two malefactors, the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.
Och då de kommo till det rummet, som kallas hufvudskallaplatsen, der korsfäste de honom, och de ogerningsmän med honom; den ena på den högra sidon, den andra på den venstra.
34 And Jesus said: Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they divided his garments, casting a lot upon them.
Och sade Jesus: Fader, förlåt dem det; ty de veta icke hvad de göra. Och de bytte hans kläder, kastandes lott på dem.
35 And the people stood and looked on; and the rulers also derided him, and said: He quickened others; let him quicken himself, if he is the Messiah, the chosen of God.
Och folket stod och såg uppå; och de öfverste, samt med dem, begabbade honom, sägande: Androm hafver han hulpit, hjelpe sig nu sjelfvom, om han är Christus, den Guds utkorade.
36 And the soldiers like wise mocked him, coming to him and offering him vinegar,
Begabbade honom ock krigsknektarna, och gingo till, och räckte ättiko till honom;
37 and saying to him: If thou art the king of the Jews, quicken thyself.
Sägande: Äst du Judarnas Konung, så hjelp dig sjelf.
38 And there was likewise a superscription over him, written in Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Var ock en öfverskrift skrifven öfver honom, med Grekiska, Latinska och Ebreiska bokstäfver: Denne är Judarnas Konung.
39 And one of the malefactors who were crucified with him, reproached him, and said: If thou art the Messiah, rescue thyself, and rescue us.
Men en af de ogerningsmän, som upphängde voro, hädde honom, och sade: Äst du Christus, så hjelp dig sjelf och oss.
40 But his fellow Malefactor rebuked him, said to him: Art thou not afraid even of God, seeing thou art under the same sentence?
Då svarade den andre, straffade honom, och sade: Fruktar du icke heller Gud, du som äst i samma fördömelsen?
41 And we justly; for we have a retribution according to our deserts, and according to our deeds; but nothing hateful hath been done by him.
Och är det väl rätt med oss; ty vi lide det våra gerningar värda äro; men denne hafver intet ondt gjort.
42 And he said to Jesus: My Lord, remember me, when thou comest into thy kingdom.
Och sade han till Jesum: Herre, tänk på mig, då du kommer i ditt rike.
43 Jesus said to him: Verily I say to you, That this day thou shalt be with me in paradise.
Och sade Jesus till honom: Sannerliga säger jag dig, i dag skall du vara med mig i paradis.
44 And it was about the sixth hour; and darkness was over all the land, until the ninth hour.
Och var detta vid sjette timman; och ett mörker vardt öfver hela landet, allt intill nionde timman.
45 And the sun was darkened, and the curtain of the door of the temple was rent through its middle.
Och solen miste sitt sken; och förlåten i templet remnade midt i tu.
46 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and said: My Father, into thy hand I commit my spirit. Thus he spake, and expired.
Och Jesus ropade med höga röst, och sade: Fader, jag befaller min anda i dina händer; och då han hade det sagt, gaf han upp andan.
47 And when the centurion saw what occurred, he glorified God and said: Certainly, this was a righteous man.
Då höfvitsmannen såg hvad der skedde, prisade han Gud, och sade: Sannerliga var denne en rättfärdig man.
48 And all the multitudes who had assembled at this spectacle, on seeing what occurred, returned, smiting upon their breasts.
Och allt folket, som dit gånget var att se härpå, då de sett hade hvad der skedde, slogo de sig för sin bröst, och gingo hem igen.
49 And there were standing at a distance, all they that knew Jesus, and those women who came with him from Galilee; and they beheld these things.
Men alle hans kände vänner, och qvinnor, som honom följt hade af Galileen, stodo långt ifrån, och sågo derpå.
50 And there was a certain man, whose name was Joseph, a counsellor, from Ramath a city of Judaea, who was a good man and righteous;
Och si, en man, benämnd Joseph, en rådherre, den var en god och rättfärdig man;
51 and he had not consented to their decision and deed; and he was waiting for the kingdom of God.
Och hade icke samtyckt deras råd och gerning; och han var bördig af den Judarnas stad Arimathia; den der ock åstundade efter Guds rike;
52 This man went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
Han gick till Pilatum, och beddes Jesu lekamen;
53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in a winding-sheet of linen; and laid it in an excavated sepulchre, in which no one had hitherto been laid.
Och tog honom ned, svepte honom uti ett linkläde, och laden ned i ena graf, som uthuggen var uti sten, der än då ingen hade uti lagd varit.
54 And it was the day of preparation, and the sabbath began to dawn.
Och det var tillredelsedagen, och Sabbathen begynte gå uppå.
55 And those women who came with him from Galilee, approached, and viewed the sepulchre, and the manner in which the body was deposited.
Och följde der några qvinnor efter, som med honom komna voro af Galileen och besågo grafvena, och huruledes hans lekamen lagd var;
56 And they returned, and prepared perfumes and aromatics; and they rested on the sabbath, as it is commanded.
Och gingo sedan tillbaka igen, och tillredde välluktandes krydder och smörjelse; men om Sabbathen voro de stilla, som budet var i lagen.
