Luke 16
1 And he spoke a parable to his disciples. There was a certain rich man, who had a steward; and accusations were brought to him of him, that he squandered his property.
Y DIJO tambien á sus discípulos; Habia un hombre rico, el cual tenia un mayordomo; y este fué acusado delante de él como disipador de sus bienes.
2 And his lord called him, and said to him: What is this that I hear of thee? Render to me an account of thy stewardship; for thou canst no longer be my steward.
Y lo llamó, y le dijo: ¿Qué [es] esto [que] oigo de tí? da cuenta de tu mayordomía, porque ya no podrás más ser mayordomo.
3 And the steward said with himself: What shall I do, since my lord is about to take from me the stewardship? To dig, I am unable; and to become a beggar, I am ashamed.
Entónces el mayordomo dijo dentro de sí: ¿Qué haré? que mi señor me quita la mayordomía. Cavar, no puedo, mendigar, tengo vergüenza.
4 I know what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me to their houses.
[Yo] sé lo que haré, para que cuando fuere quitado de la mayordomía, me reciban en sus casas.
5 And he called each one of his lord's debtors; and he said to the first, How much owest thou to my lord?
Y llamando á cada uno de los deudores de su señor, dijo al primero: ¿Cuánto debes á mi señor?
6 And he said to him, One hundred measures of oil. And he said to him: Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write Fifty measures.
Y él dijo: Cien barriles de aceite. Y le dijo: Toma tu obligacion, y siéntate presto, y escribe cincuenta.
7 And he said to another: And how much owest thou to my lord? And he said to him, One hundred cors of wheat. And he said to him: Take thy bill, and sit down, and write Eighty cors.
Y despues dijo á otro: ¿Y tú, cuánto debes? Y él dijo: Cien coros de trigo. Y él le dijo: Toma tu obligacion, y escribe ochenta.
8 And our Lord praised the unrighteous steward, for having acted sagaciously: for the children of this world are more sagacious than the children of light, in this their generation. (aiōn g165)
Y alabó el señor al mayordomo malo por haber hecho discretamente; porque los hijos de este siglo son en su generacion mas sagaces que los hijos de luz. (aiōn g165)
9 And I also say to you: Make to yourselves friends, with this unrighteous mammon; so that when it is finished, they may receive you to their everlasting tabernacles. (aiōnios g166)
Y yo os digo: Hacéos amigos de las riquezas de maldad, para que cuando faltareis, os reciban en las moradas eternas. (aiōnios g166)
10 He that is faithful in the little, is also faithful in the much; and he that is unjust in the little, is also unjust in the much.
El que es fiel en lo muy poco, tambien en lo más es fiel: y el que en lo muy poco es injusto, tambien en lo mas es injusto.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will intrust to you the reality?
Pues si en las malas riquezas no fuisteis fieles, ¿quién os confiará lo verdadero?
12 And if ye have not been found faithful in that which is not yours, who will give to you that which is yours?
Y si en lo ajeno no fuisteis fieles, ¿quién os dará lo que es vuestro?
13 There is no servant, who can serve two lords. For, either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will honor the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Ningun siervo puede servir á dos señores; porque ó aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro; ó se allegará al uno, y menospreciará al otro. No podeis servir á Dios y á las riquezas.
14 And the Pharisees, when they heard all these things, because they loved money, derided him.
Y oian tambien todas estas cosas los Fariséos, los cuales eran avaros, y se burlaban de él.
15 And Jesus said to them: Ye are such as justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your heart: for that which is exalted among men, is abominable before God.
Y díjoles: Vosotros sois los que os justificais á vosotros mismos delante de los hombres; mas Dios conoce vuestros corazones: porque lo que los hombres [tienen] por sublime, delante de Dios [es] abominacion.
16 The law and the prophets were until John: since then, the kingdom of God is proclaimed, and every one presseth it to enter in.
La ley y los profetas hasta Juan: desde entónces el reino de Dios es anunciado, y quien quiera se esfuerza á entrar en él.
17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one letter to pass from the law.
Empero más fácil cosa es pasar el cielo y la tierra, que frustrarse un tilde de la ley.
18 Whoever putteth away his wife, and taketh another, committeth adultery; and whoever taketh her that is put away, committeth adultery.
Cualquiera que repudia á su mujer, y se casa con otra, adultera: y el que se casa con la repudiada del marido, adultera.
19 And there was a certain rich man, who was clothed in fine linen and scarlet, and passed every day in splendid luxury.
Habia un hombre rico, que se vestia de púrpura y de lino fino, y hacia cada dia banquete con esplendidez:
20 And there was a certain poor man, whose name was Lazarus; and he was laid at the gate of the rich man, smitten with ulcers.
Habia tambien un mendigo llamado Lázaro, el cual estaba echado á la puerta de él, lleno de llagas,
21 And he desired to fill his belly with the fragments that fell from the rich man's table: and the dogs also came and licked his ulcers.
Y deseando hartarse de las migajas que caian de la mesa del rico; y aun los perros venian y le lamian las llagas.
22 And so it was, that the poor man died; and angels transported him to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried.
Y aconteció que murió el mendigo, y fué llevado por los ángeles al seno de Abraham: y murió tambien el rico, y fué sepultado.
23 And being tormented in hell, he raised his eyes from afar off, and saw Abraham, and Lazarus in his bosom. (Hadēs g86)
Y en el infierno alzó sus ojos estando en los tormentos, y vió á Abraham de lejos, y á Lázaro en su seno. (Hadēs g86)
24 And he called with a loud voice, and said: Abraham, my father, have pity on me; and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and moisten my tongue; for, lo, I am tormented in this flame.
Entónces él dando voces dijo: Padre Abraham, ten misericordia de mí, y envia á Lázaro que moje la punta de su dedo en agua, y refresque mi lengua; porque soy atormentado en esta llama.
25 And Abraham said to him: My son, remember, that thou receivedst thy good things in thy lifetime, and Lazarus his evil things: and now, behold he is here at rest, and thou art tormented.
Y díjole Abraham: Hijo, acuérdate que recibiste tus bienes en tu vida, y Lázaro tambien males; mas ahora este es consolado aquí, y tú atormentado.
26 And with all these, there is a great barrier between us and you; so that they who would pass from here to you, cannot; neither can they pass from there to us
Y además de todo esto, una grande sima está constituida entre nosotros y vosotros, que los que quisieren pasar de aquí á vosotros, no pueden, ni de allá pasar acá.
27 He said to him: I pray thee, therefore, my father, that thou wouldst send him to my father's house;
Y dijo: Ruégote, pues, padre, que le envies á la casa de mi padre;
28 for I have five brothers; that he may go and protest to them; lest they also come to this place of torment.
Porque tengo cinco hermanos; para que les testifique, porque no vengan ellos tambien á este lugar de tormento.
29 Abraham said to him: They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them.
Y Abraham le dice: A Moisés y á los profetas tienen; óiganlos.
30 But he said to him: No, my father Abraham: but if one shall go to them from the dead, they will repent.
El entónces dijo: No, padre Abraham: mas si alguno fuere á ellos de los muertos, se arrepentirán.
31 Abraham said to him: If they hear not Moses and the prophets, they will not believe, though one should rise from the dead.
Mas [Abraham] le dijo: Si no oyen á Moisés y á los profetas, tampoco se persuadirán, si alguno se levantare de os muertos.
