John 14
1 Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, and, believe in me.
Não se perturbe vosso coração; credes em Deus, crede também em mim.
2 There are many mansions in the house of my Father: and if not, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
Na casa de meu Pai há muitas moradas; senão, eu vos diria; vou para vos preparar lugar.
3 And if I go to prepare for you a place, I will come again and take you to myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
E quando eu for, e vos preparar lugar, outra vez virei, e vos tomarei comigo, para que vós também estejais onde eu estiver.
4 And whither I go, ye know; and the way ye know.
E já sabeis para onde vou, e sabeis o caminho.
5 Thomas said to him: Our Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
Disse-lhe Tomé: Senhor, não sabemos para onde vais; e como podemos saber o caminho?
6 Jesus said to him: I am the way, and truth, and life: no one cometh unto my Father, but by me.
Jesus lhe disse: Eu sou o caminho, e a verdade, e a vida. Ninguém vem ao Pai, a não ser por mim.
7 If ye had known me, ye would also have known my Father: and henceforth, ye know him, and have seen him.
Se vós conhecêsseis a mim, também conheceríeis a meu Pai; e desde agora já o conheceis, e o tendes visto.
8 Philip said to him: Our Lord, show us the Father, and it will suffice for us.
Disse-lhe Filipe: Senhor, mostra-nos ao Pai, e basta-nos.
9 Jesus said to him: Have I been all this time with you, and hast thou not known me, Philip? He that seeth me, seeth the Father: and how sayest thou, Show us the Father?
Jesus lhe disse: Tanto tempo [há que] estou convosco, e [ainda] não me tens conhecido, Filipe? Quem a mim tem visto, já tem visto ao Pai; e como dizes tu: Mostra-nos ao Pai?
10 Believest thou not, that I am in my Father, and my Father in me? And the words which I speak, I speak not from myself: but my Father, who dwelleth in me, he doeth these works.
Não crês tu que eu [estou] no Pai, e que o Pai está em mim? As palavras que eu vos falo, não as falo de mim mesmo, mas o Pai que está em mim, ele [é o que] faz as obras.
11 Believe, that I am in my Father, and my Father in me. And if not, believe, at least, on account of the works.
Crede em mim que eu [estou] no Pai, e [que] o Pai está em mim; e quando não, crede em mim por causa das próprias obras.
12 Verily, verily, I say to you: He that believeth in me, the works which I do, will he also do. And greater than these will he do, because I go unto my Father.
Em verdade, em verdade vos digo, que aquele que crê em mim, as obras que eu faço também ele as fará; e fará maiores que estas. Porque eu vou a meu Pai.
13 And what ye shall ask in my name, I will do for you; that the Father may be glorified in his Son.
E tudo quanto pedirdes em meu nome, eu o farei; para que o Pai seja glorificado no Filho.
14 And if ye shall ask of me, in my name, I will do it.
Se alguma coisa me pedirdes em meu nome, eu [a] farei.
15 If ye love me, keep my commands.
Se me amais, guardai meus mandamentos.
16 And I will ask of my Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever, (aiōn g165)
E eu rogarei ao Pai, e ele vos dará outro Consolador, para que fique sempre convosco; (aiōn g165)
17 the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, and knoweth him not: but ye know him, because he abideth with you, and is in you.
Ao Espírito de verdade, a quem o mundo não pode receber; porque não o vê, nem o conhece; mas vós o conheceis, porque habita convosco, e estará em vós.
18 I shall not leave you orphans: for I shall come to you in a little while.
Não vos deixarei órfãos; eu virei a vós.
19 And the world will not see me; but ye will see me. Because I live, ye will live also.
Ainda um pouco, e o mundo não me verá mais; mas vós me vereis; porque eu vivo, e vós vivereis.
20 In that day ye will know, that I am in my Father; and that ye are in me, and I in you.
Naquele dia conhecereis que [estou] em meu Pai, e vós em mim, e eu em vós.
21 He, with whom are my commands, and who keepeth them, he it is that loveth me. And he that loveth me, will be loved by my Father: and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Quem tem meus mandamentos, e os guarda, esse é o que me ama; e quem a mim me ama, será amado de meu Pai, e eu o amarei, e a ele me manifestarei.
22 Judas, not Iscariot, said to him: My Lord, how is it that thou art to manifest thyself to us, and not to the world?
Disse-lhe Judas (não o Iscariotes): Senhor, que há, porque a nós te manifestarás, e não ao mundo?
23 Jesus answered, and said to him: He that loveth me, observeth my instruction; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.
Respondeu Jesus, e disse-lhe: Se alguém me ama, guardará minha palavra, e meu Pai o amará, e viremos a ele, e faremos morada com ele.
24 But he that loveth me not, observeth not my instruction. And the instruction which ye hear, is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.
Quem não me ama, não guarda minhas palavras. E a palavra que ouvis não é minha, mas sim do Pai que me enviou.
25 These things have I said to you, while I was with you.
Estas coisas tenho dito a vós, estando [ainda] convosco.
26 But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you every thing, and will remind you of all that I say to you.
Mas aquele Consolador, o Espírito Santo, ao qual o Pai enviará em meu nome, esse vos ensinará tudo, e tudo quanto tenho dito vós, [ele] vos fará lembrar.
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. It is not as the world giveth, that I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor be afraid.
A paz vos deixo, minha paz vos dou; vou dá- [la] a vós, não como o mundo [a] dá. Não se perturbe vosso coração, nem se atemorize.
28 Ye have heard what I said to you that I go away, and come again to you. If ye had loved me, ye would have rejoiced, that I go to my Father; for my Father is greater than I
Já ouvistes que vos tenho dito: Vou, e venho a vós. Se me amásseis, verdadeiramente vos alegraríeis, porque tenho dito: Vou ao Pai; pois meu Pai maior é que eu.
29 And now, lo, I have told you, before it occurreth; so that when it shall have occurred, ye may believe.
E já agora o disse a vós antes que aconteça, para que quando acontecer, [o] creiais.
30 Hereafter I shall not converse much with you; for the ruler of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
Já não falarei muito convosco; pois o príncipe deste mundo já vem, e ele nada tem em mim.
31 But that the world may know, that I love my Father, and as my Father commanded me, so I do. Arise; let us go hence.
Mas para que o mundo saiba que eu amo ao Pai, e assim faço como o Pai me mandou; levantai-vos, vamos embora daqui.
