John 13
1 And before the feast of the passover, Jesus knew that the hour had come when he should depart from this world unto the Father. And he loved his own people, who were in the world; and he loved them unto the end.
நிஸ்தாரோத்ஸவஸ்ய கிஞ்சித்காலாத் பூர்வ்வம்’ ப்ரு’தி²வ்யா: பிது: ஸமீபக³மநஸ்ய ஸமய: ஸந்நிகர்ஷோபூ⁴த்³ இதி ஜ்ஞாத்வா யீஸு²ராப்ரத²மாத்³ யேஷு ஜக³த்ப்ரவாஸிஷ்வாத்மீயலோகேஷ ப்ரேம கரோதி ஸ்ம தேஷு ஸே²ஷம்’ யாவத் ப்ரேம க்ரு’தவாந்|
2 And when the supper was passed, it had been injected by Satan into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray him.
பிதா தஸ்ய ஹஸ்தே ஸர்வ்வம்’ ஸமர்பிதவாந் ஸ்வயம் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸமீபாத்³ ஆக³ச்ச²த்³ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸமீபம்’ யாஸ்யதி ச, ஸர்வ்வாண்யேதாநி ஜ்ஞாத்வா ரஜந்யாம்’ போ⁴ஜநே ஸம்பூர்ணே ஸதி,
3 And Jesus, because he knew that the Father had given all things into his hands; and that he came out from the Father, and was going to God;
யதா³ ஸை²தாந் தம்’ பரஹஸ்தேஷு ஸமர்பயிதும்’ ஸி²மோந: புத்ரஸ்ய ஈஷ்காரியோதியஸ்ய யிஹூதா³ அந்த: கரணே குப்ரவ்ரு’த்திம்’ ஸமார்பயத்,
4 arose from the supper, and laid aside his long garments, and took a linen cloth, and wrapped it about his loins;
ததா³ யீஸு² ர்போ⁴ஜநாஸநாத்³ உத்தா²ய கா³த்ரவஸ்த்ரம்’ மோசயித்வா கா³த்ரமார்ஜநவஸ்த்ரம்’ க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா தேந ஸ்வகடிம் அப³த்⁴நாத்,
5 and poured water into a wash-basin, and began to wash the feet of his disciples: and he wiped them with the linen cloth with which he had girded his loins.
பஸ்²சாத்³ ஏகபாத்ரே ஜலம் அபி⁴ஷிச்ய ஸி²ஷ்யாணாம்’ பாதா³ந் ப்ரக்ஷால்ய தேந கடிப³த்³த⁴கா³த்ரமார்ஜநவாஸஸா மார்ஷ்டும்’ ப்ராரப⁴த|
6 And when he came to Simon Cephas, Simon said to him: Dost thou, my Lord, wash my feet for me?
தத: ஸி²மோந்பிதரஸ்ய ஸமீபமாக³தே ஸ உக்தவாந் ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ ப⁴வாந் கிம்’ மம பாதௌ³ ப்ரக்ஷாலயிஷ்யதி?
7 Jesus answered, and said to him: What I do, thou understandest not now: but hereafter thou wilt understand.
யீஸு²ருதி³தவாந் அஹம்’ யத் கரோமி தத் ஸம்ப்ரதி ந ஜாநாஸி கிந்து பஸ்²சாஜ் ஜ்ஞாஸ்யஸி|
8 Simon Cephas said to him: Never shalt thou wash my feet. Jesus said to him: Unless I wash thee, thou hast no part with me. (aiōn g165)
தத: பிதர: கதி²தவாந் ப⁴வாந் கதா³பி மம பாதௌ³ ந ப்ரக்ஷாலயிஷ்யதி| யீஸு²ரகத²யத்³ யதி³ த்வாம்’ ந ப்ரக்ஷாலயே தர்ஹி மயி தவ கோப்யம்’ஸோ² நாஸ்தி| (aiōn g165)
9 Simon Cephas said to him: Then, my Lord, not my feet only shalt thou wash, but also my hands and my head.
ததா³ ஸி²மோந்பிதர: கதி²தவாந் ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ தர்ஹி கேவலபாதௌ³ ந, மம ஹஸ்தௌ ஸி²ரஸ்²ச ப்ரக்ஷாலயது|
10 Jesus said to him: He that hath bathed, needeth not but to wash his feet; for he is all clean. And ye also are clean; but not all of you.
ததோ யீஸு²ரவத³த்³ யோ ஜநோ தௌ⁴தஸ்தஸ்ய ஸர்வ்வாங்க³பரிஷ்க்ரு’தத்வாத் பாதௌ³ விநாந்யாங்க³ஸ்ய ப்ரக்ஷாலநாபேக்ஷா நாஸ்தி| யூயம்’ பரிஷ்க்ரு’தா இதி ஸத்யம்’ கிந்து ந ஸர்வ்வே,
11 For Jesus knew, who would betray him: therefore he said, Ye are not all clean.
யதோ யோ ஜநஸ்தம்’ பரகரேஷு ஸமர்பயிஷ்யதி தம்’ ஸ ஜ்ஞாதவாந; அதஏவ யூயம்’ ஸர்வ்வே ந பரிஷ்க்ரு’தா இமாம்’ கதா²ம்’ கதி²தவாந்|
12 And when he had washed their feet, he resumed his long garments, and reclined. And he said to them: Understand ye what I have done to you?
இத்த²ம்’ யீஸு²ஸ்தேஷாம்’ பாதா³ந் ப்ரக்ஷால்ய வஸ்த்ரம்’ பரிதா⁴யாஸநே ஸமுபவிஸ்²ய கதி²தவாந் அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரதி கிம்’ கர்ம்மாகார்ஷம்’ ஜாநீத²?
13 Ye call me, Our Rabbi, and Our Lord; and ye speak well; for I am so.
யூயம்’ மாம்’ கு³ரும்’ ப்ரபு⁴ஞ்ச வத³த² தத் ஸத்யமேவ வத³த² யதோஹம்’ ஸஏவ ப⁴வாமி|
14 If then I, your Lord and your Rabbi, have washed your feet, how much more ought ye to wash the feet of one another?
யத்³யஹம்’ ப்ரபு⁴ ர்கு³ருஸ்²ச ஸந் யுஷ்மாகம்’ பாதா³ந் ப்ரக்ஷாலிதவாந் தர்ஹி யுஷ்மாகமபி பரஸ்பரம்’ பாத³ப்ரக்ஷாலநம் உசிதம்|
15 For I have given you this example, that ye might do, as I have done to you.
அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரதி யதா² வ்யவாஹரம்’ யுஷ்மாந் ததா² வ்யவஹர்த்தும் ஏகம்’ பந்தா²நம்’ த³ர்ஸி²தவாந்|
16 Verily, verily, I say to you, That no servant is greater than his lord; and no legate is greater than he who sent him.
அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாநதியதா²ர்த²ம்’ வதா³மி, ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்தா³ஸோ ந மஹாந் ப்ரேரகாச்ச ப்ரேரிதோ ந மஹாந்|
17 If ye know these things, happy will ye be if ye do them.
இமாம்’ கதா²ம்’ விதி³த்வா யதி³ தத³நுஸாரத: கர்ம்மாணி குருத² தர்ஹி யூயம்’ த⁴ந்யா ப⁴விஷ்யத²|
18 Not of you all, do I speak: I know whom I have chosen. But that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me, hath lifted his heel against me.
ஸர்வ்வேஷு யுஷ்மாஸு கதா²மிமாம்’ கத²யாமி இதி ந, யே மம மநோநீதாஸ்தாநஹம்’ ஜாநாமி, கிந்து மம ப⁴க்ஷ்யாணி யோ பு⁴ங்க்தே மத்ப்ராணப்ராதிகூல்யத: | உத்தா²பயதி பாத³ஸ்ய மூலம்’ ஸ ஏஷ மாநவ: | யதே³தத்³ த⁴ர்ம்மபுஸ்தகஸ்ய வசநம்’ தத³நுஸாரேணாவஸ்²யம்’ க⁴டிஷ்யதே|
19 From this time, I tell you, before it occurs, that when it shall occur, ye may know that I am he.
அஹம்’ ஸ ஜந இத்யத்ர யதா² யுஷ்மாகம்’ விஸ்²வாஸோ ஜாயதே தத³ர்த²ம்’ ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸ²க⁴டநாத் பூர்வ்வம் அஹமிதா³நீம்’ யுஷ்மப்⁴யமகத²யம்|
20 Verily, verily, I say to you: He that receiveth him whom I send, receiveth me; and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.
அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாநதீவ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ வதா³மி, மயா ப்ரேரிதம்’ ஜநம்’ யோ க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி ஸ மாமேவ க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி யஸ்²ச மாம்’ க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி ஸ மத்ப்ரேரகம்’ க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி|
21 These things said Jesus, and he was agitated in his spirit; and he testified, and said: Verily, verily, I say to you, That one of you will betray me.
ஏதாம்’ கதா²ம்’ கத²யித்வா யீஸு² ர்து³: கீ² ஸந் ப்ரமாணம்’ த³த்த்வா கதி²தவாந் அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாநதியதா²ர்த²ம்’ வதா³மி யுஷ்மாகம் ஏகோ ஜநோ மாம்’ பரகரேஷு ஸமர்பயிஷ்யதி|
22 And the disciples stared at one another; because they knew not, of whom he spake.
தத: ஸ கமுத்³தி³ஸ்²ய கதா²மேதாம்’ கதி²தவாந் இத்யத்ர ஸந்தி³க்³தா⁴: ஸி²ஷ்யா: பரஸ்பரம்’ முக²மாலோகயிதும்’ ப்ராரப⁴ந்த|
23 And there was one of his disciples, who was reclining on his bosom, he whom Jesus loved;
தஸ்மிந் ஸமயே யீஸு² ர்யஸ்மிந் அப்ரீயத ஸ ஸி²ஷ்யஸ்தஸ்ய வக்ஷ: ஸ்த²லம் அவாலம்ப³த|
24 to him Simon Cephas beckoned, that he should ask him, who it was of whom he spoke.
ஸி²மோந்பிதரஸ்தம்’ ஸங்கேதேநாவத³த், அயம்’ கமுத்³தி³ஸ்²ய கதா²மேதாம் கத²யதீதி ப்ரு’ச்ச²|
25 And that disciple fell upon the breast of Jesus, and said to him: My Lord, which is he?
ததா³ ஸ யீஸோ² ர்வக்ஷ: ஸ்த²லம் அவலம்ப்³ய ப்ரு’ஷ்ட²வாந், ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ ஸ ஜந: க: ?
26 Jesus answered and said: He it is, to whom I give the bread when I have dipped it. And Jesus dipped the bread, and gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
ததோ யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யவத³த்³ ஏகக²ண்ட³ம்’ பூபம்’ மஜ்ஜயித்வா யஸ்மை தா³ஸ்யாமி ஸஏவ ஸ: ; பஸ்²சாத் பூபக²ண்ட³மேகம்’ மஜ்ஜயித்வா ஸி²மோந: புத்ராய ஈஷ்கரியோதீயாய யிஹூதை³ த³த்தவாந்|
27 And after the bread, then Satan entered into him. And Jesus said to him: What thou doest, do quickly.
தஸ்மிந் த³த்தே ஸதி ஸை²தாந் தமாஸ்²ரயத்; ததா³ யீஸு²ஸ்தம் அவத³த் த்வம்’ யத் கரிஷ்யஸி தத் க்ஷிப்ரம்’ குரு|
28 And no one of those reclining, knew, wherefore he said this to him.
கிந்து ஸ யேநாஸ²யேந தாம்’ கதா²மகதா²யத் தம் உபவிஷ்டலோகாநாம்’ கோபி நாபு³த்⁴யத;
29 For some of them supposed, because the purse was in the hands of Judas, that Jesus expressly charged him to buy something needful for the feast, or that he should give something to the poor.
கிந்து யிஹூதா³: ஸமீபே முத்³ராஸம்புடகஸ்தி²தே: கேசித்³ இத்த²ம் அபு³த்⁴யந்த பார்வ்வணாஸாத³நார்த²ம்’ கிமபி த்³ரவ்யம்’ க்ரேதும்’ வா த³ரித்³ரேப்⁴ய: கிஞ்சித்³ விதரிதும்’ கதி²தவாந்|
30 And Judas took the bread at once, and went out of the house. And it was night when he went out.
ததா³ பூபக²ண்ட³க்³ரஹணாத் பரம்’ ஸ தூர்ணம்’ ப³ஹிரக³ச்ச²த்; ராத்ரிஸ்²ச ஸமுபஸ்யிதா|
31 And Jesus said: Now is the Son of man glorified; and God is glorified in him.
யிஹூதே³ ப³ஹிர்க³தே யீஸு²ரகத²யத்³ இதா³நீம்’ மாநவஸுதஸ்ய மஹிமா ப்ரகாஸ²தே தேநேஸ்²வரஸ்யாபி மஹிமா ப்ரகாஸ²தே|
32 And if God is glorified in him, God will glorify him in himself; and will glorify him speedily.
யதி³ தேநேஸ்²வரஸ்ய மஹிமா ப்ரகாஸ²தே தர்ஹீஸ்²வரோபி ஸ்வேந தஸ்ய மஹிமாநம்’ ப்ரகாஸ²யிஷ்யதி தூர்ணமேவ ப்ரகாஸ²யிஷ்யதி|
33 My children, a little longer I am with you; and ye will seek for me; and, as I said to the Jews, Whither I go ye cannot come, so I now say to you.
ஹே வத்ஸா அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாபி⁴: ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ கிஞ்சித்காலமாத்ரம் ஆஸே, தத: பரம்’ மாம்’ ம்ரு’க³யிஷ்யத்⁴வே கிந்த்வஹம்’ யத்ஸ்தா²நம்’ யாமி தத்ஸ்தா²நம்’ யூயம்’ க³ந்தும்’ ந ஸ²க்ஷ்யத², யாமிமாம்’ கதா²ம்’ யிஹூதீ³யேப்⁴ய: கதி²தவாந் ததா²து⁴நா யுஷ்மப்⁴யமபி கத²யாமி|
34 A new commandment I give to you, that ye be affectionate to each other. As I have loved you, do ye also love one another.
யூயம்’ பரஸ்பரம்’ ப்ரீயத்⁴வம் அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாஸு யதா² ப்ரீயே யூயமபி பரஸ்பரம் ததை²வ ப்ரீயத்⁴வம்’, யுஷ்மாந் இமாம்’ நவீநாம் ஆஜ்ஞாம் ஆதி³ஸா²மி|
35 By this will every one know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love for each other.
தேநைவ யதி³ பரஸ்பரம்’ ப்ரீயத்⁴வே தர்ஹி லக்ஷணேநாநேந யூயம்’ மம ஸி²ஷ்யா இதி ஸர்வ்வே ஜ்ஞாதும்’ ஸ²க்ஷ்யந்தி|
36 Simon Cephas said to him: Our Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered, and said to him: Whither I go, thou canst not now come after me; but thou wilt at last come.
ஸி²மோநபிதர: ப்ரு’ஷ்ட²வாந் ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ ப⁴வாந் குத்ர யாஸ்யதி? ததோ யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யவத³த், அஹம்’ யத்ஸ்தா²நம்’ யாமி தத்ஸ்தா²நம்’ ஸாம்ப்ரதம்’ மம பஸ்²சாத்³ க³ந்தும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோஷி கிந்து பஸ்²சாத்³ க³மிஷ்யஸி|
37 Simon Cephas said to him: My Lord, why can I not come after thee? I would lay down my life for thee.
ததா³ பிதர: ப்ரத்யுதி³தவாந், ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ ஸாம்ப்ரதம்’ குதோ ஹேதோஸ்தவ பஸ்²சாத்³ க³ந்தும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோமி? த்வத³ர்த²ம்’ ப்ராணாந் தா³தும்’ ஸ²க்நோமி|
38 Jesus said to him: Wouldst thou lay down thy life for me? Verily, verily, I say to thee, The cock will not crow, until thou hast three times denied me.
ததோ யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யுக்தவாந் மந்நிமித்தம்’ கிம்’ ப்ராணாந் தா³தும்’ ஸ²க்நோஷி? த்வாமஹம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ வதா³மி, குக்குடரவணாத் பூர்வ்வம்’ த்வம்’ த்ரி ர்மாம் அபஹ்நோஷ்யஸே|
