Acts 6
1 And in those days, when the disciples had become numerous, the Grecian disciples murmured against the Hebrew, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration to the needy.
Ug unya niadtong mga adlawa, sa nag-anam nag kadaghan ang mga tinun-an, dihay pagbagotbot sa mga Judiyong Gresyanhon batok sa mga Judiyong-lumad tungod kay ang ilang mga babayeng balo pagahisayloan lamang sa inadlaw-adlawng pagpangapod-apod sa mga kabuhian.
2 And the twelve legates convoked the whole company of the disciples, and said to them: It is not proper, that we should neglect the word of God, and serve tables.
Tungod niini ang Napulog-Duha nagpatigum sa katilingban sa mga tinun-an ug miingon kanila, "Dili angay nga biyaan namo ang pagwali sa pulong sa Dios aron kami maoy mangunay sa pagpangapod-apod sa mga pagkaon.
3 Therefore brethren, search out, and elect from among you, seven men of whom there is good testimony, men full of the Spirit of the Lord, and of wisdom; that we may place them over this business:
Busa, mga igsoon, pagpili kamog pito ka tawo diha kaninyo nga inyong hingmatud-an nga maayo, nga puno sa Espiritu ug sa kinaadman, nga atong ipahimutang niining bulohatona.
4 and we will continue in prayer, and in the ministration of the word.
Ug kami magapadayon sa pag-atiman sa pag-ampo ug sa pag-alagad labut sa pulong."
5 And this proposal was acceptable before all the people. And they elected Stephen, a man who was full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas an Antiochian proselyte.
Ug kining sultiha nakapahimuot sa tibuok katilingban, ug ilang gipili sila si Esteban, usa ka tawo nga puno sa pagtoo ug sa Espiritu Santo, ug si Felipe, si Procor, si Nicanor, si Timon, si Parmenas, ug si Nicolas nga usa ka kinabig nga ta-Antioquia.
6 These stood before the legates; and when they had prayed, they laid the hand on them.
Ug sila gipaatubang sa mga apostoles, ug human makaampo kini, gipandungan sila nila sa ilang mga kamot.
7 And the word of God increased, and the number of disciples was enlarged at Jerusalem greatly; and many people from among the Jews, were obedient to the faith.
Ug mikaylap ang pulong sa Dios; ug ang gidaghanon samga tinun-an sa Jerusalem mitubo sa hilabihan gayud, ug daghan kaayo sa mga sacerdote ang nanagpasakop sa tinuohan.
8 And Stephen was full of grace and energy; and he wrought signs and prodigies among the people.
Ug unya si Esteban, nga puno sa grasya ug gahum, naghimog dagkung mga kahibulongan ug mga ilhana diha sa katawhan.
9 And there rose up some of the synagogue which is called that of the freed men, Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and persons from Cilicia and from Asia; and they disputed with Stephen.
Ug dihay pipila ka mga sakop sa sinagoga sa mga Binuhian (sumala sa gingalan niini), ug sa mga taga-Cirene, ug sa mga taga-Alejandria, ug sa mga taga-Cilicia ug sa Asia, nga nanindog sa pagpakiglantugi kang Esteban.
10 And they could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit that spoke by him.
Apan wala sila makahimo sa pagbuntog sa kinaadman ug sa Espiritu nga diha uban sa iyang pagpamulong.
11 Then they sent men, and instructed them to say: We have heard him speak words of blasphemy, against Moses and against God.
Ug unya ilang gisibahan sa tago ang pipila ka tawo sa pag-ingon, "Kami nakadungog kaniya nga nagsultig mga masipad-anong pulong batok kang Moises ug sa Dios."
12 And they excited the people, and the Elders, and the Scribes; and they came, and rose upon him, and seized him, and carried him into the midst of the council.
Ug ilang gipagubot ang katawhan ug ang mga anciano ug ang mga escriba, ug sila mihasmag ug ilang gisakmit ug gitaral siya ngadto sa atubangan sa Sanhedrin.
13 And they set up false witnesses, who said: This man ceaseth not to utter words contrary to the law, and against this holy place.
Ug ilang gipaatubang ang bakakong mga saksi nga nanag-ingon, "Kining tawhana wala gayuy hunong sa pagsultig mga pulong batok niining balaang dapit ug sa kasugoan;
14 For we have heard him say, that this Jesus the Nazarean will destroy this place, and will change the rites which Moses delivered to you.
kay siya among hingdunggan nga nag-ingon nga kini konong dapita pagagon-ubon ni Jesus nga Nazaretnon ug pagausabon niini ang mga pamatasan nga gibilin kanato ni Moises."
15 And all they who were sitting in the council looked upon him, and they beheld his face, as the face of an angel.
Ug ang tanang nanag-lingkod sa Sanhedrin, sa pagtutok nila kaniya, nakamatikod nga ang iyang nawong sama sa nawong sa manulunda.
