1 Timothy 1

1 PAUL, a legate of Jesus the Messiah, by the command of God our life-giver, and of the Messiah, Jesus our hope;

நமது இரட்சகராகிய இறைவனுடைய கட்டளையின்படி, நமது எதிர்பார்ப்பாயிருக்கிற கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவின் அப்போஸ்தலனாயிருக்கிற பவுல்,

2 to Timothy, my true son in the faith: grace and mercy and peace, from God our Father, and the Messiah, Jesus our Lord.

விசுவாசத்தில் என் உண்மையான மகன் தீமோத்தேயுவுக்கு எழுதுகிறதாவது: நம்முடைய பிதாவாகிய இறைவனாலும், கர்த்தராகிய கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவினாலும் உங்களுக்குக் கிருபையும், இரக்கமும், சமாதானமும் உண்டாவதாக.

3 When I was going into Macedonia, I requested thee to remain at Ephesus, and to charge certain persons not to teach different doctrines;

நான் மக்கெதோனியாவுக்குப் போனபோது உன்னிடம் வற்புறுத்தி வேண்டிக்கொண்டதுபோல, நீ எபேசுவிலே தங்கியிரு. அங்கே சிலர் பொய்யான கோட்பாடுகளைப் போதிக்கிறார்கள். நீ அவர்களுக்கு இனிமேலும் அப்படிச் செய்யாதபடி கட்டளையிடு.

4 and not to throw themselves into fables and stories about genealogies, of which there is no end, which produce contention rather than edification in the faith of God.

கட்டுக்கதைகளிலும், முடிவில்லாத வம்ச வரலாறுகளிலும் அவர்கள் ஈடுபடுவதை விட்டுவிடும்படி கட்டளையிடு. இவை வாக்குவாதத்தைப் பெருகச்செய்யுமேயல்லாமல், விசுவாசத்தின்மூலம் நடைபெற வேண்டிய இறைவனின் வேலைகளைப் பெருகச்செய்யாது.

5 Now the end of the command is love, which is from a pure heart, and from a good conscience, and from true faith.

இந்தக் கட்டளையின் நோக்கம் அன்பே ஆகும். தூய்மையான இருதயத்திலும், நல்ல மனசாட்சியிலும், உண்மையான விசுவாசத்திலுமிருந்தே அந்த அன்பு உண்டாகிறது.

6 But from these some have strayed, and have turned aside to vain words;

சிலரோ இவற்றைவிட்டு வழிவிலகிப்போய், பயனற்ற பேச்சில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளார்கள்.

7 because they wished to be teachers of the law, while they understood not what they speak, nor the thing about which they contend.

அவர்கள் மோசேயின் சட்ட ஆசிரியர்களாய் இருக்க விரும்புகிறார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்கள் தாங்கள் எதைப்பற்றிப் பேசுகிறார்கள் என்றும், தாங்கள் மனவுறுதியுடன் வலியுறுத்துவது என்ன என்றும் அறியாதிருக்கிறார்கள்.

8 Now, we know, that the law is a good thing, if a man conduct himself in it, according to the law,

ஒருவன் மோசேயின் சட்டத்தைச் சரியாகப் பயன்படுத்தினால் அது நல்லது என்று நாம் அறிவோம்.

9 he knowing that the law was not established for the righteous, but for the evil, and the rebellious, and the ungodly, and the sinful, and the perverse and for the impure, and for smiters of their fathers and smiters of their mothers, and for murderers,

மோசேயின் சட்டம் நீதிமான்களுக்காக அல்ல, சட்டத்தை மீறுபவர்களுக்காகவே ஆக்கப்பட்டது என்பதையும், நாம் அறிவோம். கலகக்காரர், பக்தியில்லாதவர், பாவம் செய்பவர், பரிசுத்தம் இல்லாதவர், நம்பிக்கை இல்லாதவர், தங்கள் தகப்பனையும் தாயையும் கொலைசெய்பவர், கொலைகாரர்,

10 and for whoremongers, and for copulators with males, and for the stealers of free people, and for liars, and for violators of oaths, and for whatever is contrary to sound doctrine,

விபசாரம் செய்வோர், ஆண்புணர்ச்சியில் ஈடுபடுவோர், அடிமை வியாபாரம் செய்வோர், பொய்யர், பொய் சத்தியம் செய்வோர் ஆகியோருக்காகவும், நலமான போதனைக்கு மாறாக எது உள்ளதோ, அவற்றை வெளிப்படுத்தவுமே மோசேயின் சட்டம் ஆக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

11 namely that of the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I am intrusted.

அந்த நலமான போதனையோ, மகிமையுள்ள இறைவனுடைய மேன்மையான நற்செய்திக்கு ஒத்ததாயிருக்கிறது. இந்த நற்செய்தியை இறைவன் என்னிடம் ஒப்படைத்துள்ளார்.

12 And I thank him who strengthened me, even our Lord Jesus the Messiah; who accounted me faithful, and appointed me to his ministry;

எனது கர்த்தர் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்கு, நான் நன்றி செலுத்துகிறேன். ஏனெனில் அவரே எனக்குப் பெலன் கொடுத்து, என்னை உண்மையுள்ளவனென்று கருதியபடியால், தம் பணியில் என்னை நியமித்தார்.

13 me I say, who before was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and a reviler; but I obtained mercy, because I did it while ignorant and without faith.

நான் முன்னொரு காலத்தில் இறைவனை நிந்தனை செய்கிறவனாகவும், சபையைத் துன்புறுத்துகிறவனாகவும், வன்முறை செய்கிற மனிதனாகவும் இருந்தேன். ஆனால் நான் அறியாமையினாலும், அவிசுவாசத்தினாலும் அப்படிச் செய்தபடியினால், எனக்கு இரக்கம் காட்டப்பட்டது.

14 And in me the grace of our Lord abounded, and faith and love, which is in Jesus the Messiah.

நமது கர்த்தரின் கிருபை என்மேல் நிறைவாக ஊற்றப்பட்டது. அத்துடன் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவிலுள்ள விசுவாசமும், அன்பும்கூட கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.

15 Faithful is the declaration, and worthy to be received, that Jesus the Messiah came into the world to give life to sinners, of whom I was the primary.

இதோ, இது ஒரு நம்பத்தகுந்த வார்த்தை, எல்லோரும் இதை முழுவதுமாக ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டியதாகும்: பாவிகளை இரட்சிக்கவே கிறிஸ்து இயேசு உலகத்திற்கு வந்தார். அவர்களில் மிக மோசமானவன் நானே.

16 But for this cause had he mercy on me, that in me first Jesus the Messiah might display all his long suffering, for an example to them who were to believe on him unto life eternal. (aiōnios g166)

பாவிகளில் மிக மோசமானவனான எனக்கு இந்தக் காரணத்தினாலேயே இரக்கம் காட்டப்பட்டது. ஏனெனில் இனிமேல், கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவில் விசுவாசம் வைப்பதனால் நித்திய வாழ்வைப் பெறுகிறவர்களுக்கு, அவர் அளவற்ற பொறுமையைக் காண்பிப்பார் என்பதன் எடுத்துக்காட்டாய் நான் இருக்கவேண்டும் என்றே என்மேல் முடிவில்லாத பொறுமை காட்டப்பட்டது. 17 And to the king eternal, incorruptible, and invisible, the sole God, be honor and glory for ever and ever! Amen. (aiōn g165)

அழியாமையுடையவரும், பார்வைக்கு காணப்படாதவரும், நித்திய அரசருமாய் இருக்கிற, ஒரே ஒருவரான இறைவனுக்கே என்றென்றும் கனமும், மகிமையும் கொடுக்கப்படுவதாக. ஆமென். (aiōn g165)

18 This injunction I commit to thee, my son Timothy, according to the former predictions concerning thee, that in them thou mightest war this good warfare,

என் மகனாகிய தீமோத்தேயுவே, முன்பு உன்னைப்பற்றிக் கூறப்பட்ட இறைவாக்கின்படியே, இந்தக் கட்டளையை நான் உனக்குக் கொடுக்கிறேன். நீ இவற்றைக் கைக்கொள்வதனால் நல்ல போராட்டத்தை போராடு.

19 in faith and a good conscience; for they who have repudiated this, have become destitute of faith;

விசுவாசத்தையும் நல்மனசாட்சியையும் பற்றிப்பிடித்துக்கொண்டு, உறுதியுடன் போராடு. சிலரோ நல்ல மனசாட்சியைப் புறக்கணித்ததால், தங்கள் விசுவாசத்தைப் பாறையில் மோதிய கப்பலைப்போல் ஆக்கினார்கள்.

20 like Hymeneus and Alexander, whom I have delivered up to Satan, that they may learn not to be blasphemers.

அவர்களில் இமெனேயும் அலெக்சந்தரும் அப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள். அவர்கள் இறைவனைப்பற்றி நிந்தித்து பேசாதிருக்கும்படி, நான் அவர்களை சாத்தானிடம் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தேன்.
