< 1 Peter 3 >

1 So also ye wives, be ye subject to your husbands; that, by your pleasing behavior, ye may gain over, without difficulty, those who obey not the word,
Unu ndị bụ nwunye na-eruberenụ di unu isi, ka ụfọdụ nʼime ha na-ekweghị nʼokwu Chineke, nwee ike isi nʼezi ndụ unu na-ebi chegharịa nʼekwughị okwu ọbụla,
2 when they see, that ye conduct yourselves with reverence and chastity.
mgbe ha na-ahụ ibi ndụ unu nke dị ọcha na nke inwe nsọpụrụ.
3 And adorn not yourselves with the external ornaments of curls of the hair, or of golden trinkets, or of costly garments.
Ịchọ mma unu agaghị abụ ịchọ mma nke anụ ahụ, nke bụ ịkpa isi, na iyikwasị ihe ọlaedo, maọbụ iyikwasị uwe mara mma.
4 But adorn yourselves in the hidden person of the heart, with a mild and uncorrupted spirit, an ornament that is precious before God.
Kama, ka ịchọ mma unu bụrụ mmadụ nke ime mmụọ, nke mma ya na-adịghị aṅacha, nke bụ mmụọ ịdị nwayọọ na ịdị juu. Nke dị oke ọnụahịa nʼihu Chineke.
5 For so also the holy women of old, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, and were subject to their husbands:
Nke a bụ ụzọ ndị inyom mgbe ochie, bụ ndị dị nsọ, ndị olileanya ha dị nʼime Chineke siri chọọ onwe ha mma. Ha debekwara onwe ha nʼokpuru di nke aka ha.
6 just as Sarah was subject to Abraham, and called him, My lord: whose daughters ye are, by good works, while ye are not terrified by any fear.
Dịka Sera rubeere Ebraham isi, na-akpọkwa ya onyenwe m. Unu bụ ụmụ Sera ma ọ bụrụ na unu e mee ihe ziri ezi, na-ekweghị ka egwu tụọ unu.
7 And ye husbands, likewise, dwell with your wives according to knowledge, and hold them in honor, as the feebler vessels; because they also will inherit with you the gift of eternal life: and let not your prayers be hindered.
Nʼotu aka ahụ, ndị bụ di na-echenụ echiche dị mma banyere nwunye unu, ma nyenụ ha ugwu ruuru ha dịka ndị na-adịghị ike na dịka ndị unu na ha ga-eso keta onyinye amara nke ndụ ahụ. Nke a ga-eme ka ihe ọbụla hapụ igbochi ekpere unu.
8 The summing up, is, that ye all be in harmony, that ye be sympathetic with them who suffer, and affectionate one to another, and be merciful and kind.
Nʼikpeazụ, nweenụ otu mmụọ, ka ihe na-ewute ibe unu na-ewute unu, na-ahụrịtanụ onwe unu nʼanya, nwekwanụ obi ọmịiko na obi dị umeala.
9 And that ye recompense to no one evil for evil, neither railing for railing; but, in contrariety to these, that ye bless: for to this were ye called, that ye might inherit a blessing.
10 Therefore, whoever chooseth life, and desireth to see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile;
Nʼihi na, “Onye ọbụla nke na-achọ ndụ, nke chọrọ ịhụ ụbọchị ndị ahụ dị mma, ya mee ka ire ya ghara ikwu okwu ọjọọ meekwa ka egbugbere ọnụ ya ghara ikwu okwu aghụghọ.
11 let him turn away from evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and follow after it.
Ka ha tụgharịa site nʼajọ ihe ma mee ezi ihe; ka ha chọọ udo, ma na-agbasokwa ya.
12 Because the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears ready to hear them: but the face of the Lord is against the wicked.
Nʼihi na anya Onyenwe anyị dị nʼahụ ndị ezi omume, ntị ya gheekwa oghe nye ekpere ha, ma ihu Onyenwe anyị na-emegide ndị na-eme ihe ọjọọ.”
13 And who will do you harm, if ye are zealous of good works?
Onye ga-emegide unu ma ọ bụrụ na unu na-anụ ọkụ nʼobi ime ezi ihe?
14 But if it should occur, that ye suffer on account of righteousness, happy are ye. And be not terrified, by those who would terrify you, nor be agitated:
Ma a sịkwarị na unu ahụ ahụhụ nʼihi na unu mere ihe ziri ezi, ngọzị dịrị unu. “Unu atụla egwu ihe ha na-atụ egwu, ka obi gharakwa ịlọ unu mmiri.”
15 but sanctify the Lord the Messiah, in your hearts. And be ye ready for a vindication, before every one who demandeth of you an account of the hope of your faith,
Na-edonụ Kraịst nsọ nʼime obi unu dịka Onyenwe anyị. Nọọkwanụ na njikere mgbe niile iguzo kọwaara onye ọbụla jụrụ unu ajụjụ banyere olileanya ahụ unu nwere nʼime unu. Ma unu were obi dị nwayọọ na nsọpụrụ na-eme nke a.
16 in meekness and respect, as having a good conscience; so that they who speak against you as bad men, may be ashamed, for having calumniated your good conduct in the Messiah.
Ma na-enwenụ akọnuche dị ọcha, ka ndị ahụ na-ekwulu ibi obi ọma unu nʼime Kraịst, bụrụ ndị ihere ga-eme banyere nkwutọ ha na-ekwutọ unu.
17 For it is profitable to you, that ye suffer evil while ye do good deeds, if this should be the pleasure of God; and not, while ye do evil deeds.
Nʼihi na ọ ka mma ịta ahụhụ nʼihi ezi ihe ma ọ bụrụ uche Chineke, karịa ịta ahụhụ nʼihi ajọ ihe.
18 For the Messiah also once died for our sins, the righteous for sinners; that he might bring you to God. And he died in body, but lived in spirit.
Nʼihi na Kraịst nʼonwe ya hụrụ ahụhụ nwụọ nʼihi unu otu mgbe. Onye ezi omume nwụrụ nʼihi ndị ajọ omume, ka ọ kpọrọ unu bịakwute Chineke. Nʼihi na e mere ka ọ nwụọ nʼanụ ahụ ma e mekwara ka ọ dị ndụ na mmụọ ya.
19 And he preached to those souls, which were detained in Hades,
Mgbe emesịrị ka ọ dị ndụ na mmụọ ya, ọ gara kwusaa oziọma nye mmụọ ndị ahụ a kpọchiri nʼụlọ mkpọrọ.
20 which were formerly disobedient, in the days of Noah, when the long suffering of God commanded an ark to be made, in hope of their repentance; and eight souls only entered into it, and were kept alive in the waters.
Nke a bụ mmụọ ndị ahụ jụrụ ime ihe Chineke chọrọ mgbe ahụ o ji ntachiobi chere ha nʼoge ahụ Noa nọ na-ewu ụgbọ mmiri ya. Ọ bụ naanị mmadụ asatọ nʼime ndị bi nʼoge ahụ ka a zọpụtara site na mmiri ahụ.
21 And ye also, by a like figure, are made alive by baptism, (not when ye wash your bodies from filth, but when ye confess God with a pure conscience, ) and by the resurrection of Jesus the Messiah;
Mmiri a nọ ọnọdụ dị ka baptizim nke na-azọpụta unu ugbu a. Ọ anaghị asapụ unyi site nʼahụ mmadụ, kama ọ bụ ihe na-egosi ezi akọnuche nʼebe Chineke nọ. Ọ na-azọpụta unu site na mbilite nʼọnwụ nke Jisọs Kraịst,
22 who is taken up to heaven, and is on the right hand of God, and angels, and authorities, and powers, are subject to him.
onye nọ nʼeluigwe, nʼaka nri Chineke, ebe ndị mmụọ ozi niile, na ịchị isi niile, na ike niile na-erube isi nye ya.
