Romans 2
1 Wherefore thou hast no excuse, O man, who judgest thy neighbour; for in that for which thou judgest thy neighbour, thou condemnest thyself; for in those which thou judgest, thou also art conversant.
Kwa hiyo hauna udhuru, wewe uhukumuye, kwa maana katika yale uhukumuyo mwingine wajitia hatiani mwenyewe. Kwa maana wewe uhukumuye unafanya mambo yale yale.
2 AND we know what is the judgment of Aloha in truth against them who in these things converse.
Lakini twajua kwamba hukumu ya Mungu ni ya kweli juu yao wafanyao mambo kama hayo.
3 But thinkest thou, O man, who judgest them who in these converse, while thou also conversest in them, that thou wilt escape the judgment of Aloha?
Lakini wewe tafakari hili, wewe ambaye unahukumu wale wanaotenda mambo hayo ingawa nawe unafanya mambo yayo hayo. Je utaepuka hukumu ya Mungu?
4 Or upon the riches of his goodness, and upon his long-suffering, and upon the space he giveth thee, presumest thou? and knowest not that the goodness of Aloha unto repentance leadeth thee?
Au unafikiri kidogo sana juu ya wingi wa wema wake, kuchelewa kwa adhabu yake, na uvumilivu wake? Je, hujui kwamba wema wake unapaswa kukuelekeza katika toba?
5 Yet, through the hardness of thy unrepenting heart, layest thou up the treasure of wrath for the day of wrath, and the revelation of the just judgment of Aloha,
Bali kwa kadiri ya ugumu wako na kwa moyo wako usio na toba wajiwekea mwenyewe akiba ya ghadhabu kwa siku ile ya ghadhabu, yaani, siku ile ya ufunuo wa hukumu ya haki ya Mungu.
6 who rendereth to every man according to his works.
Yeye atamlipa kila mtu kipimo sawa na matendo yake:
7 To them who seek, in perseverance of good works, glory and honour and incorruption, he giveth eternal life; (aiōnios g166)
kwa wale ambao kwa uthabiti wa matendo mema wametafuta sifa, heshima na kutokuharibika, atawapa uzima wa milele. (aiōnios g166)
8 but to them who are rebellious, and obey not the truth, but unrighteousness obey, he will render wrath and indignation
Lakini kwa wale ambao ni wabinafsi, wasioitii kweli bali hutii dhuluma, ghadhabu na hasira kali itakuja.
9 and affliction and distress, upon every man who worketh evils; to Jihudoyee first, and to Aramoyee;
Mungu ataleta dhiki na shida juu ya kila nafsi ya binadamu aliyefanya uovu, kwa Myahudi kwanza, na kwa Myunani pia.
10 but glory and honour and peace to every one who worketh good, to the Jihudoya first, and also to the Aramoya;
Lakini sifa, heshima na amani itakuja kwa kila mtu atendaye mema, kwa Myahudi kwanza, na kwa Myunani pia.
11 for there is no acceptance of faces with Aloha.
Kwa maana hakuna upendeleo kwa Mungu.
12 For they who without the law have sinned, without the law also will perish: and they who in the law have sinned, by the law will be judged.
Kwa maana kama vile wengi waliokosa pasipo sheria watapotea pasipo sheria, na kama vile wengi waliokosa kulingana na sheria watahukumiwa kwa sheria.
13 For not the hearers of the law are righteous before Aloha, but the doers of the law are justified.
Maana si wasikiaji wa sheria walio wenye haki mbele za Mungu, bali ni wale waitendao sheria watakaohesabiwa haki.
14 FOR if the Gentiles, who have not the law, from their nature shall perform the law, these, while not having the law, unto themselves become a law.
Kwa maana watu wa Mataifa, ambao hawana sheria, wanafanya kwa asili mambo ya sheria, wao, wamekuwa sheria kwa nafsi zao, ingawa wao hawana sheria.
15 And these show the work of law written upon their hearts, and their conscience testifieth of them, while their reasonings accuse or excuse one another;
Kwa hili wanaonesha kwamba matendo yanayohitajika kwa mujibu wa sheria yameandikwa ndani ya mioyo yao. Dhamiri zao pia zinawashuhudia wao, na mawazo yao wenyewe ama huwashitaki au huwalinda wao wenyewe
16 in the day when Aloha judgeth the secrets of men according to my gospel by Jeshu Meshiha.
na pia kwa Mungu. Haya yatatokea katika siku ambayo Mungu atazihukumu siri za watu wote, sawasawa na injili yangu, kwa njia ya Yesu Kristo.
17 But if thou (who) a Jihudoya art called, and reposest on the law, and boastest in Aloha,
Tuseme kwamba unajiita mwenyewe Myahudi, aliyekaa katika sheria, shangilia kwa kujisifu katika Mungu,
18 because thou knowest his will, and distinguishest the things that are fitting, because thou art learned from the law;
yajue mapenzi yake, na kupima mambo ambayo yanatofautiana nayo, baada ya kuagizwa na sheria.
19 and confidest upon thyself that thou art a guide of the blind, and a light to those who are in darkness,
Na tuseme kwamba una ujasiri kwamba wewe mwenyewe ni kiongozi wa kipofu, mwanga kwa wale walio gizani,
20 and an instructor of the wanting-in-mind, and a teacher of children, and hast a type of knowledge and of truth in the law:
msahihishaji wa wajinga, mwalimu wa watoto, na kwamba unayo katika sheria jinsi ya elimu na kweli.
21 Thou, then, who teachest others, dost thou not teach thyself? and who preachest that men should not steal, dost thou steal?
Wewe basi, uhubiriye mwingine, je, hujifundishi mwenyewe? Wewe uhubiriye kutokuiba, je wewe huiba?
22 and who sayest they should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? And thou who condemnest idols, dost thou despoil the sanctuary?
Wewe usemae usizini, je unazini? Wewe uchukiaye sanamu, je unaiba hekaluni?
23 And thou who boastest of the law, in this that thou transgressest against the law, Aloha himself despisest thou?
Wewe ujisifuye katika sheria, je haumfedheheshi Mungu katika kuvunja sheria?
24 For the name of Aloha through you is blasphemed among the Gentiles, as it is written.
Kwa maana “jina la Mungu linafedheheshwa kati ya watu wa mataifa kwa sababu yenu,” kama ilivyoandikwa.
25 For circumcision profiteth, if thou accomplish the law; but if thou transgress the law, thy circumcision is become uncircumcisedness.
Kwa maana Kutahiriwa kweli kwafaa kama ukitii sheria, lakini kama wewe ni mkiukaji wa sheria, kutahiriwa kwako kunakuwa kutokutahiriwa.
26 But if the uncircumcision shall keep the commandment of the law, is not uncircumcisedness reckoned to him (as) circumcision?
Basi, ikiwa, mtu asiyetahiriwa anaendelea kushika matakwa ya sheria, je kutokutahiriwa kwake hakutachukuliwa kana kwamba ametahiriwa?
27 And the uncircumcision, who by nature accomplishes the law will judge thee, who with the scripture and with circumcision, transgressest against the law.
Na yeye asiyetahiriwa kwa asili hatakuhukumu kama akitimiza sheria? Hii ni kwa sababu una maandiko yaliyoandikwa na tohara pia lakini bado u mkiukaji wa sheria!
28 FOR it is not in outwardness that he is a Jihudoya nor is that which is seen in the flesh circumcision:
Kwa maana yeye si Myahudi aliye kwa hali ya nje; wala kutahiriwa si kule ambako ni kwa nje tu katika mwili.
29 but he is a Jihudoya who is one in inwardness; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not from the sons of men, but from Aloha.
Lakini yeye ni Myahudi aliye kwa ndani, na tohara ni ya moyo, katika roho, si katika andiko. Sifa ya mtu wa namna hiyo haitokani na watu bali yatoka kwa Mungu.
