< John 9 >

1 AND as he was passing, he saw a man blind from the womb of his mother.
Yesuusi bishe yelettoosappe qooqe gididi de7iya issi addiya be7is.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Raban, who sinned, this or his parents, that blind he should have been born?
Iya tamaareti, “Asttamaariyaw, ha addey qooqe gididi yelettana mela nagara oothiday oonee? I oothideyye woykko iya yelidayssati oothidonaa?” yaagidi oychchidosona.
3 Jeshu saith to them, Neither he sinned, nor his parents; but that there might be seen in him the works of Aloha.
Yesuusi, “Xoossaa oosoy iya bolla qonccana melappe attin I woykko iya yelidayssati nagara oothida gisho gidenna.
4 Me it behoveth to do the works of Him who sent me, while it is to-day: the night cometh when man cannot work.
Sa7i gallas de7ishin tana kiittidayssa oosuwa nu oothanaw bessees. Oonikka oothanaw dandda7onna qammay yees.
5 So long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.
Taani alamiyan de7ashe alamiyas poo7o” yaagis.
6 And when he had said these things, he spat upon the ground, and formed clay from his spittle, and rubbed upon the eyes of the blind,
Yesuusi hessa gidi sa7an cuttis. Ba cuchchan guutha biitta laakothidi he urqqan qooqe addiya ayfiyaa tiyis.
7 and said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Shilucha. And he went, washed, and came seeing.
Yaatidi, “Bada Salihoome (Salihoome guussay Kiitettidayssa guussu) giya teqettida haathan ne ayfiyaa meecetta” yaagis. Hessa gisho, addey bidi ba ayfiyaa meecettidi xeellishe simmis.
8 But his neighbours, and they who had seen (him) aforetime as he begged, said, Is not this he who sat and begged?
Addiya shoorotinne addey kase woossishin be7ida asay, “Hayssi uttidi woossiya addiya gidenneyye?” yaagidosona.
9 Some said, It is he; and some said, It is not, but one like him; but he said, I am he.
Issi issi asay, “Hayssi iya” yaagidosona. Harati qassi, “Akkay, hayssi iya daaneesippe attin iya gidenna” yaagidosona. Shin addey, “Ee, tana” yaagis.
10 They say to him, How were thine eyes opened?
Entti iyaakko, “Yaatin ne ayfey waanidi xeellide?” yaagidi oychchidosona.
11 He answered and said to them, The man whose name is Jeshu made clay, and rubbed upon mine eyes, and said to me, Go, wash in the waters of Shilucha; and I went, washed, and received sight.
I zaaridi, “Yesuusa giya addey guutha urqqa laakothidi ta ayfiyaa tiyidi, ‘Salihoome bada ne ayfiyaa meecetta’ yaagin, taani bada meecettada xeella aggas” yaagis.
12 They say to him, Where is he? He saith to them, I know not.
Entti iyaakko, “I awun de7ii?” yaagidi oychchidosona. Addey, “Taani erikke” yaagis.
13 They brought him who from the beginning was blind to the Pharishee.
Entti kase qooqe, shin ha77i xeellida addiya Farisaawetakko efidosona.
14 Now it was shabath when Jeshu made the clay and opened his eyes:
Yesuusi urqqa laakothidi addiya ayfiyaa pathida gallasay Sambbaata gallas.
15 and again the Pharishee questioned him, How didst thou receive sight? He said to them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and received sight.
Hessa gisho, addey waanidi xeellidaakko Farisaaweti iya zaari oychchidosona. Addey enttako, “I ta ayfiyaan guutha urqqa tiyis. Ta ayfiyaa meecettada ha77i xeellays” yaagis.
16 And some of the Pharishee said, This man is not from Aloha; for the shabath he keepeth not. But others said, How can a man, a sinner, perform these signs? And there was a division among them.
Farisaaweteppe issoti issoti, “Hayssa oothida addey Sambbaata higgiya naagonna gisho Xoossaa matappe yibeenna” yaagidosona. Shin harati, “Nagaranchcho asi hayssa mela malaata waati oothanaw dandda7ii?” yaagidi bantta giddon shaakettidosona.
17 They say again to the blind, What sayest thou concerning him, because he hath opened thine eyes? He saith to them, I say that he is the Prophet.
Hessa gisho, Farisaaweti addiyako, “I ne ayfiyaa xeelisida gisho ne iyabaa woygay?” yaagidosona. Addey, “I nabe” yaagis.
18 But believed not concerning him the Jihudoyee that blind he had been and made-to-see, until they called the parents of him who had been made to see,
Ayhude halaqati, iya aayiwunne aawa xeegidi oychchana gakkanaw, addey kase qooqe gididayssanne ha77i I xeelleyssa ammanibookkona.
19 and asked them, If this is your son who, you say, was born blind, how now doth he see?
Entti iya aayiwunne iya aawakko, “Hintte ‘Qooqe gididi yelettis’ giya hintte na7ay hayssee? Yaatin, ha77i waanidi xeellide?” yaagidi oychchidosona.
20 His parents answered and said, We know that this (is) our son, and that blind he was born.
Iya yelidayssati, “Hayssi nu na7aa gididayssanne qooqe gididi I yelettidayssa nu eroos.
21 But how he now seeth, or who hath opened his eyes, we know not. He also hath entered on his years, ask him: he for himself shall speak.
Shin ha77i I waanidi xeellidaakko qassi iya ayfiyaa ooni pathidaakko nuuni erokko. Iya oychchite. I bana erida asi gidiya gisho babaa odanaw dandda7ees” yaagidosona.
22 These words said his parents, because they feared the Jihudoyee; for the Jihudoyee had determined that if any man should confess him that he was the Meshicha, they would cast him out of the synagogue:
Iya yelidayssati hessa giday Ayhudetas yayyida gishossa. Ays giikko, Ayhudeti, Yesuusi I Kiristtoosa yaagidi markkattiya asi de7ikko he uraa Ayhude Woosa Keethafe hilanaw koyrottidi zore qachchidosona.
23 on this account said his parents, He hath entered on his years, ask him.
Iya yelidayssati, “I bana erida asi; iya oychchite” yaagiday hessassa.
24 And they called the second time the man who had been blind, and said to him, Glorify Aloha: for we know that this man is a sinner.
Hessa gisho, qooqe gididi yelettida addiya entti zaari xeegidi, “Tumaa odanaw Xoossan caaqqa; ha addey nagaranchcho gideyssa nu eroos” yaagidosona.
25 He answered and said to them, Whether he be a sinner, I know not; but one (thing) I know, that I have been blind, and now, behold, I see.
Addey zaaridi, “I nagaranchcho gidin, gidonna ixxin ta erikke. Taani qooqe gideyssanne ha77i xeelleyssa he issibaa erays” yaagis.
26 They say to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he to thee thine eyes?
Entti zaaridi, “I new ay oothidee? I ne ayfiyaa waati pathidee?” yaagidosona.
27 He saith to them, I told you, and you heard not: what will you hear? Are you also willing disciples to him to become?
I enttako, “Taani hinttew odas, shin si7ibeekketa. Ays zaari si7anaw koyeetii? Hintteka iya tamaare gidanaw koyeetiyye?” yaagis.
28 But they reviled him, and said to him, Thou art the disciple of him; but we are the disciples of Musha.
Entti iya cayidi, “Ne he uraa tamaare gida; nuuni Muse tamaare.
29 And we know that with Musha Aloha spake; but for this, we know not whence he is.
Xoossay Muses odidayssa nuuni eroos, shin hari attoshin ha uray I awuppe yidaakkoka nu erokko” yaagidosona.
30 Answered the man and said to them, At this then we must wonder, that you know not from whence he is, and (yet) mine eyes he hath opened!
Addey enttako, “I awuppe yidaakko hintte eronayssi malaalisiyabaa, shin I ta ayfiyaa pathis.
31 But we know that Aloha the voice of sinners heareth not; but if any man fear him and do his will, him he heareth.
Xoossaa bonchcheyssanne I koyabaa oothiya uraa Xoossay si7eesippe attin nagaranchchota si7enna.
32 From of old it hath not been heard that a man hath opened the eyes of one born blind. (aiōn g165)
Saloy sa7i medhettosappe qooqe gididi yelettida asa ayfe pathiday oonikka baawa. (aiōn g165)
33 If this were not from Aloha, he could not this have done.
Ha addey Xoossafe kiitettiboonnabaa gidiyakko issibaakka oothanaw dandda7enna” yaagis.
34 They answered and say to him, Thou altogether wast born in sins, and art thou teaching us? And they cast him without.
Entti zaaridi, “Neeni nagaran yelettada diccidayssi nuna tamaarssanaw koyay?” yaagidosona. Iya Ayhude Woosa Keethafe hilidosona.
35 Jeshu heard that they had cast him without, and he found him, and said to him, Dost thou believe on the Son of Aloha?
Yesuusi entti addiya kessidayssa si7ida wode iya demmidi, “Asa Na7aa ammanay?” yaagidi oychchis.
36 He who had been cured answered and said, Who (is he), my Lord, that I may believe in him?
Addey Yesuusakko, “Godaw, taani iya ammanana mela I oonee? Taw odarkkii?” yaagis.
37 Jeshu said to him, Thou hast SEEN him, and He who talketh with thee is He.
Yesuusi addiyako, “Neeni iya be7adasa; ha neera odetteyssi iya” yaagis.
38 He said, I believe, my Lord! And, falling, he adored him.
Addey zaaridi, “Godaw, ammanays” yaagidi Yesuusas goynnis.
39 Jeshu said to them, For the judgment of this world am I come, that they who see not may see, and they who see may be made blind.
Yesuusi, “Qooqeti xeellana melanne xeelleyssati qooqana mela taani pirddanaw ha alamiya yas” yaagis.
40 And some of the Pharishee who were with him heard these (words), and they said to him, Are we blind also?
Iyara de7iya guutha Farisaaweti hessa si7idi, “Nu qooqeyye?” yaagidi oychchidosona.
41 Jeshu saith to them, If blind you were, you would have no sin; but now you say, We see: therefore your sin is confirmed.
Yesuusi, “Hintte qooqe gidiyakko hinttew nagara gidenna. Shin ha77i hintte xeellos giya gisho hinttee, hintte nagaran de7eeta” yaagis.
