John 5
1 AFTER these there was a feast of the Jihudoyee, and Jeshu went up to Urishlem.
Après ces choses, il y eut une fête des Juifs, et Jésus monta à Jérusalem.
2 Now there was there in Urishlem a certain place of ablution, which was called in Hebrew Bethchesda, and having in it five porticoes.
Or, il y a à Jérusalem, près de la porte des brebis, une piscine appelée en hébreu « Béthesda », et comportant cinq portiques.
3 And in these were many infirm people, blind and lame and withered, awaiting the moving of the waters.
Une grande foule de malades, d'aveugles, de boiteux ou de paralytiques y étaient couchés, attendant que l'eau se mette à bouger.
4 For an angel at times descended to the pool and moved the waters; and he who first descended after the movement of the waters was healed of whatever disease he had.
Car un ange descendait à certains moments dans la piscine et remuait l'eau. Celui qui entrait le premier après le remuement de l'eau était guéri de la maladie qu'il avait.
5 But a certain man was there who for thirtyand-eight years had been in a disease.
Il y avait là un homme qui était malade depuis trente-huit ans.
6 Jeshu saw this (man) as he lay, and knew that for a long time he had (been thus), and said to him, Art thou willing to be healed?
Jésus, l'ayant vu couché là, et sachant qu'il était malade depuis longtemps, lui demanda: « Veux-tu être guéri? »
7 The diseased man answered and said, Yes, my Lord; but I have no man who, when the waters are moved, shall cast me into the pool: but while I am coming, another before me descendeth.
Le malade lui répondit: « Seigneur, je n'ai personne pour me mettre dans la piscine quand l'eau est agitée, mais pendant que je viens, un autre descend devant moi. »
8 Jeshu saith to him, Arise, take up thy bed, and walk.
Jésus lui dit: « Lève-toi, prends ton grabat, et marche. »
9 And in the instant that man was healed, and, arising, he took up his bed, and walked: and that day was the shabath.
Aussitôt, l'homme fut guéri, il reprit son tapis et marcha. Or, ce jour-là était un sabbat.
10 And the Jihudoyee said to him who had been healed, This is the shabath: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
Les Juifs dirent donc à celui qui avait été guéri: « C'est le sabbat. Il ne t'est pas permis de porter le tapis. »
11 But he answered and said to them, He who made me whole, he said to me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
Il leur répondit: « Celui qui m'a guéri m'a dit: 'Prends ton tapis et marche'. »
12 And they said to him, What man is this who told thee to take up thy bed, and walk?
Ils lui demandèrent alors: « Qui est l'homme qui t'a dit: « Prends ton tapis et marche »? »
13 But he who had been healed knew not who it was; for Jeshu had retired among the great multitude which was in that place.
Mais celui qui avait été guéri ne savait pas qui c'était, car Jésus s'était retiré, une foule étant dans le lieu.
14 After a time Jeshu found him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, thou art healed: sin not again, lest there be to thee that which is worse than the first.
Après cela, Jésus le trouva dans le temple et lui dit: « Voici que tu es guéri. Ne pèche plus, afin qu'il ne t'arrive rien de pire. »
15 And that man went away, and told the Jihudoyee, that it was Jeshu who had healed him.
L'homme s'en alla, et raconta aux Juifs que c'était Jésus qui l'avait guéri.
16 On account of this the Jihudoyee persecuted Jeshu, and sought to kill him, because these things he had done on the shabath.
C'est pourquoi les Juifs persécutèrent Jésus et cherchèrent à le faire mourir, parce qu'il faisait ces choses le jour du sabbat.
17 But he, Jeshu, said to them, My Father until now worketh, I also work.
Mais Jésus leur répondit: « Mon Père travaille encore, et moi aussi je travaille. »
18 But on this account the more sought the Jihudoyee to kill him, not only because he had loosed the shabath, but also that of Aloha he had said that he was his Father, and had made himself equal with Aloha.
C'est pourquoi les Juifs cherchaient d'autant plus à le faire mourir, que non seulement il violait le sabbat, mais encore qu'il appelait Dieu son propre Père, se faisant ainsi l'égal de Dieu.
19 BUT Jeshu answered and said to them, Amen, amen, I say to you, The Son cannot do any thing from the will of himself, but that which he seeth the Father do.
Jésus leur répondit: « En vérité, je vous le dis, le Fils ne peut rien faire de lui-même, sinon ce qu'il voit faire au Père. Car tout ce que celui-ci fait, le Fils le fait aussi.
20 For those which the Father doeth, these also the Son likewise doeth. For the Father loveth the Son, and every thing that he doeth he showeth him; and greater than these works he showeth him, that you may wonder.
Car le Père a de l'affection pour le Fils, et il lui montre tout ce qu'il fait lui-même. Il lui montrera des œuvres plus grandes que celles-ci, afin que vous vous étonniez.
21 For as the Father raiseth the dead, and quickeneth, so also the Son quickeneth those whom he willeth.
En effet, comme le Père ressuscite les morts et leur donne la vie, de même le Fils aussi donne la vie à qui il veut.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but all judgment he hath given to the Son;
Car le Père ne juge personne, mais il a remis tout jugement au Fils,
23 that all men should honour the Son, as they honour the Father. He who honoureth not the Son, honoureth not the Father who sent him.
afin que tous honorent le Fils, comme ils honorent le Père. Celui qui n'honore pas le Fils n'honore pas le Père qui l'a envoyé.
24 Amen, amen, I say to you, He who heareth my word and believeth on him who sent me, hath the life that is eternal, and into condemnation he cometh not, but hath passed from death unto life. (aiōnios g166)
Je vous le dis en vérité, celui qui écoute ma parole et croit à celui qui m'a envoyé a la vie éternelle, et il ne vient pas en jugement, mais il est passé de la mort à la vie. (aiōnios g166)
25 Amen, amen, I say to you, That the hour cometh and also now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of Aloha; and they who hear shall live
Je vous le dis en vérité, l'heure vient, et elle est déjà venue, où les morts entendront la voix du Fils de Dieu, et ceux qui l'auront entendue vivront.
26 For as the Father hath life in his person, so hath he given also to the Son to have life in his person,
Car, comme le Père a la vie en lui-même, de même il a donné au Fils d'avoir aussi la vie en lui-même.
27 and hath empowered him also to execute judgment. Because he is the Son of man,
Il lui a aussi donné le pouvoir de juger, parce qu'il est fils de l'homme.
28 marvel not at this; for the hour cometh when all they who are in the sepulchres shall hear his voice,
Ne vous étonnez pas de cela, car l'heure vient où tous ceux qui sont dans les tombeaux entendront sa voix
29 and shall come forth; they who have done good unto the resurrection of life, and they who have done evil unto the resurrection of condemnation.
et sortiront, ceux qui ont fait le bien pour la résurrection de la vie, et ceux qui ont fait le mal pour la résurrection du jugement.
30 I CANNOT of the will of myself do any thing; but as I hear I judge, and my judgment is just; for I seek not my will, but the will of Him who sent me.
Je ne peux rien faire de moi-même. Comme j'entends, je juge; et mon jugement est juste, parce que je ne cherche pas ma propre volonté, mais la volonté de mon Père qui m'a envoyé.
31 If I should witness concerning myself, my testimony would not be (regarded as) truth:
« Si je témoigne de moi-même, mon témoignage n'est pas valable.
32 there is another who witnesseth of me, and I know that true is his testimony which he hath witnessed of me.
C'est un autre qui témoigne de moi. Je sais que le témoignage qu'il rend de moi est vrai.
33 You sent to Juchanon, and he witnessed of the truth.
Tu as envoyé vers Jean, et il a rendu témoignage à la vérité.
34 But I do not from man (only) receive testimony. But these (things) speak I that you may be saved.
Mais le témoignage que je reçois ne vient pas d'un homme. Cependant, je dis ces choses afin que vous soyez sauvés.
35 He was a lamp that burneth and shineth, and you were willing to glory for the hour in his light.
Il était la lampe ardente et brillante, et vous avez bien voulu vous réjouir pour un temps de sa lumière.
36 But I have a testimony which is greater than that of Juchanon; for the works that the Father hath given me to accomplish, these works that I do testify of me that the Father hath sent me.
Mais le témoignage que je rends est plus grand que celui de Jean; en effet, les œuvres que le Père m'a donné à accomplir, les œuvres mêmes que je fais, rendent témoignage de moi, que le Père m'a envoyé.
37 And the Father who hath sent me, he testifieth of me: but his voice you have never heard, nor his appearance seen.
Le Père lui-même, qui m'a envoyé, a rendu témoignage de moi. Vous n'avez jamais entendu sa voix, ni vu sa figure.
38 And his word abideth not in you, because in Him whom he hath sent you do not believe.
Vous n'avez pas sa parole qui vit en vous, parce que vous ne croyez pas à celui qu'il a envoyé.
39 Investigate the scriptures; for in them you think you have the life that is eternal, and they testify of me. (aiōnios g166)
Vous sondez les Écritures, parce que vous pensez avoir en elles la vie éternelle; ce sont elles qui rendent témoignage de moi. (aiōnios g166)
40 And you will not come to me that the life that is eternal you might have.
Mais vous ne voulez pas venir à moi, pour avoir la vie.
41 Glory from the sons of men I receive not.
Je ne reçois pas de gloire des hommes.
42 But I know you, that the love of Aloha is not in you.
Mais je vous connais, et je sais que vous n'avez pas en vous l'amour de Dieu.
43 I have come in the name of my Father, and you have not received me.
Je suis venu au nom de mon Père, et vous ne me recevez pas. Si un autre vient en son propre nom, vous le recevrez.
44 If another should come in his own name, him you would receive. How can you believe, who glory one from another are receiving, and the glory which is from one, Aloha, you seek not?
Comment pouvez-vous croire, vous qui recevez la gloire les uns des autres, et vous qui ne cherchez pas la gloire qui vient du Dieu unique?
45 How think you that I will accuse you before the Father? There is one who accuseth you, Musha himself, in whom you hope.
« Ne pensez pas que je vous accuserai devant le Père. Il y en a un qui vous accuse, même Moïse, en qui vous avez mis votre espoir.
46 For if in Musha you had believed, you would also have believed in me; for Musha of me hath written.
En effet, si vous croyiez Moïse, vous me croiriez, car il a écrit sur moi.
47 But if his writings you believe not, how my words will you believe?
Mais si vous ne croyez pas ses écrits, comment croirez-vous mes paroles? »
