John 13
1 NOW before the feast of petscha, Jeshu knew that his hour was come, and that he should pass from this world unto his Father, and he had loved his who were in this world, and unto the end he had loved them.
Ilikuwa mara tu kabla ya Sikukuu ya Pasaka. Yesu alijua ya kuwa wakati wake wa kuondoka ulimwenguni ili kurudi kwa Baba umewadia. Alikuwa amewapenda watu wake waliokuwa ulimwenguni, naam, aliwapenda hadi kipimo cha mwisho.
2 And when was the supper, Satana had cast it into the heart of Jihuda bar Shemun Scarjuta to betray him.
Wakati alipokuwa akila chakula cha jioni na wanafunzi wake, ibilisi alikuwa amekwisha kutia ndani ya moyo wa Yuda Iskariote, mwana wa Simoni, wazo la kumsaliti Yesu.
3 But Jeshu himself, because he knew that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that from Aloha he had come forth, and unto Aloha he was going,
Yesu akijua ya kwamba Baba ameweka vitu vyote chini ya mamlaka yake na kwamba yeye alitoka kwa Mungu na alikuwa anarudi kwa Mungu,
4 riseth from supper, and setteth his garments apart, and took a towel, (and) bound (it) upon his loins;
hivyo aliondoka chakulani, akavua vazi lake la nje, akajifunga kitambaa kiunoni.
5 and he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the feet of his disciples, and wiped (them) with the towel that he had bound upon his loins.
Kisha akamimina maji kwenye sinia na kuanza kuwanawisha wanafunzi wake miguu na kuikausha kwa kile kitambaa alichokuwa amejifunga kiunoni.
6 But when he came to Shemun Kipha, Shemun said to him, Dost thou, my Lord, wash my feet for me?
Alipomfikia Simoni Petro, Petro akamwambia, “Bwana, je, wewe utaninawisha mimi miguu?”
7 Jeshu answered and said to him, What I do, thou knowest not now; but afterward thou shalt know.
Yesu akamjibu, “Hivi sasa hutambui lile ninalofanya, lakini baadaye utaelewa.”
8 Shemun Kipha saith to him, Never shalt thou wash for me my feet. Jeshu saith to him, If I do not wash thee, thou hast with me no part. (aiōn g165)
Petro akamwambia, “La, wewe hutaninawisha miguu kamwe.” Yesu akamjibu, “Kama nisipokunawisha, wewe huna sehemu nami.” (aiōn g165)
9 Shemun Kipha saith to him, Then, my Lord, not only my feet shalt thou wash for me, but also my hands, also my head.
Ndipo Simoni Petro akajibu, “Usininawishe miguu peke yake, Bwana, bali pamoja na mikono na kichwa pia!”
10 Jeshu saith, He that hath bathed needeth not but his feet only to wash, for all of him he hath cleansed: also you are clean, but not all of you.
Yesu akamjibu, “Mtu aliyekwisha kuoga anahitaji kunawa miguu tu, kwani mwili wake wote ni safi. Ninyi ni safi, ingawa si kila mmoja wenu.”
11 For Jeshu knew who was betraying him; therefore he said, Ye are not all of you clean.
Kwa kuwa yeye alijua ni nani ambaye angemsaliti, ndiyo sababu akasema si kila mmoja aliyekuwa safi.
12 But when he had washed their feet, he took up his garments and reclined, and said to them, Know you what I have done for you?
Alipomaliza kuwanawisha miguu yao, alivaa tena mavazi yake, akarudi alikokuwa ameketi, akawauliza, “Je, mmeelewa nililowafanyia?
13 You call me Our Master, and Our Lord; and well say you, for I am.
Ninyi mnaniita mimi ‘Mwalimu’ na ‘Bwana,’ hii ni sawa, maana ndivyo nilivyo.
14 If I then, your Lord and your Master, have washed for you your feet, how much more ought you to wash the feet of one another?
Kwa hiyo, ikiwa mimi niliye Bwana wenu na Mwalimu wenu nimewanawisha ninyi miguu, pia hamna budi kunawishana miguu ninyi kwa ninyi.
15 For this pattern have I given you, that as I have done to you, you also should do.
Mimi nimewawekea kielelezo kwamba imewapasa kutenda kama vile nilivyowatendea ninyi.
16 Amen, amen, I say to you, The servant is not greater than his lord; nor (is) the apostle greater than he who sent him.
Amin, amin nawaambia, mtumishi si mkuu kuliko bwana wake, wala aliyetumwa si mkuu kuliko yule aliyemtuma.
17 If these you know, happy are you if you do them.
Sasa kwa kuwa mmejua mambo haya, heri yenu ninyi kama mkiyatenda.
18 Not of all of you do I speak; for I know those whom I have chosen; but that the scripture might be fulfilled, that he who eateth bread with me hath lifted against me his heel.
“Sisemi hivi kuhusu ninyi nyote. Ninawajua wale niliowachagua. Lakini ni ili Andiko lipate kutimia, kwamba, ‘Yeye aliyekula chakula changu, ameinua kisigino chake dhidi yangu.’
19 Now I tell you before it shall be, that when it is done you may believe that I am.
“Ninawaambia mambo haya kabla hayajatukia, ili yatakapotukia mpate kuamini ya kuwa Mimi ndiye.
20 Amen, amen, I say to you, Whoever receiveth him whom I send receiveth me; and whoever receiveth me receiveth him who sent me.
Amin, amin nawaambia, yeyote anayempokea yule niliyemtuma anipokea mimi, naye anipokeaye mimi ampokea yeye aliyenituma mimi.”
21 These said Jeshu, and was agitated in his spirit, and testified, and said, Amen, amen, I say to you, That one of you shall betray me.
Baada ya kusema haya, Yesu alifadhaika sana moyoni, akasema, “Amin, amin nawaambia, mmoja wenu atanisaliti.”
22 But the disciples looked one on the other, because they knew not concerning whom he spake.
Wanafunzi wake wakatazamana bila kujua kuwa alikuwa anamsema nani.
23 Now there was of his disciples one who reclined on his bosom; he whom Jeshu loved.
Mmoja wa wanafunzi wake ambaye Yesu alimpenda sana, alikuwa ameegama kifuani mwa Yesu.
24 To this signed Shemun Kipha that he would ask of whom it was that he spake.
Simoni Petro akampungia mkono yule mwanafunzi, akamwambia, “Muulize anamaanisha nani.”
25 And that disciple fell upon the bosom of Jeshu, and said to him, My Lord, who is this?
Yule mwanafunzi akamwegemea Yesu, akamuuliza, “Bwana, tuambie, ni nani?”
26 Jeshu answered and said to him, He to whom I give the dipped bread. And Jeshu dipped the bread and gave it to Jihuda bar Shemun Scarjuta.
Yesu akajibu, “Ni yule nitakayempa hiki kipande cha mkate baada ya kukichovya kwenye bakuli.” Hivyo baada ya kukichovya kile kipande cha mkate, akampa Yuda Iskariote, mwana wa Simoni.
27 Then after the bread Satana entered into him. And Jeshu said to him, What thou doest, do with speed!
Mara tu baada ya kukipokea kile kipande cha mkate, Shetani akamwingia. Yesu akamwambia Yuda, “Lile unalotaka kulitenda litende haraka.”
28 But this no man knew of those who reclined of what he spake to him.
Hakuna hata mmoja wa wale waliokuwa wameketi naye mezani aliyeelewa kwa nini Yesu alimwambia hivyo.
29 For some of them thought that as Jihuda had the purse, he had instructed him to buy something that should be required at the feast, or that he should give somewhat to the poor.
Kwa kuwa Yuda alikuwa mtunza fedha, wengine walifikiri Yesu alikuwa amemwambia akanunue vitu vilivyohitajika kwa ajili ya Sikukuu, au kuwapa maskini chochote.
30 But he, Jihuda, received the bread and immediately went out: and it was night when he went out.
Mara tu baada ya kupokea ule mkate, Yuda akatoka nje. Wakati huo ulikuwa ni usiku.
31 AND Jeshu said, Now is glorified the Son of man, and Aloha is glorified in him.
Baada ya Yuda kutoka nje, Yesu akasema, “Sasa Mwana wa Adamu ametukuzwa, naye Mungu ametukuzwa ndani yake.
32 And if Aloha is glorified in him, Aloha shall glorify him in himself, and at once doth glorify him.
Ikiwa Mungu ametukuzwa ndani ya Mwana, Mungu atamtukuza Mwana ndani yake mwenyewe naye atamtukuza mara.
33 My sons, a little longer I am with you, and you will seek me; and, as I said to the Jihudoyee, Whither I go you cannot come, so to you say I now.
“Watoto wangu, mimi bado niko pamoja nanyi kwa kitambo kidogo. Mtanitafuta, na kama vile nilivyowaambia Wayahudi, vivyo hivyo sasa nawaambia na ninyi. Niendako, ninyi hamwezi kuja.
34 A new commandment give I to you, that you should love one another; as I have loved you, so do you also love one another.
“Amri mpya nawapa: Mpendane kama mimi nilivyowapenda ninyi, vivyo hivyo nanyi mpendane.
35 By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if love be in you one for another.
Kama mkipendana ninyi kwa ninyi, kwa njia hii, watu wote watajua kuwa ninyi ni wanafunzi wangu.”
36 Shemun Kipha said to him, Our Lord, whither goest thou? Jeshu said to him, Whither I go, thou canst not now come after me; but at the last thou shalt come.
Simoni Petro akamuuliza, “Bwana, unakwenda wapi?” Yesu akamjibu, “Ninakokwenda huwezi kunifuata sasa, lakini utanifuata baadaye.”
37 Shemun Kipha saith to him, My Lord, why cannot I come after thee now? My life for thee lay I down.
Petro akamuuliza tena, “Bwana, kwa nini siwezi kukufuata sasa? Mimi niko tayari kuutoa uhai wangu kwa ajili yako.”
38 Jeshu saith to him, Dost thou lay down thy life for me! Amen, amen, I tell thee, That the cock will not crow, until thou shalt have denied me three times.
Yesu akamjibu, “Je, ni kweli uko tayari kuutoa uhai wako kwa ajili yangu? Amin, amin nakuambia, kabla jogoo hajawika, utanikana mara tatu.”
