< Ephesians 4 >

1 I BESEECH of you, therefore, I, the bound one for our Lord, that you walk as is worthy of the calling wherewith you are called,
I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called,
2 in all lowliness of mind, and composedness, and long-suffering; and be patient towards one another in love.
with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
3 And be diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace,
being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 that you may be in one body and in one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling.
There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling,
5 For one is the Lord, and one the faith, and one the baptism;
one Lord, one faith, one immersion,
6 and one is Aloha, the Father of all, and over all, and by all, and in us all.
one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in us all.
7 But unto each of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of the Meshiha.
But to each one of us, the grace was given according to the measure of the gift of Messiah.
8 Wherefore it is said, He ascended on high; He led captive captivity, And gave gifts unto men.
Therefore he says, “When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to people.”
9 But he who ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the low places of the earth?
Now this, “He ascended”, what is it but that he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He who descended, is he who also ascended above all the heavens, to fulfil all.
He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.
11 And he gave some who (are) apostles, and some who (are) prophets, and some who (are) evangelists, and some who (are) pastors, and some who (are) doctors;
He gave some to be emissaries; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers;
12 for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edification of the (church of the) Meshiha,
for the perfecting of the holy ones, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Messiah,
13 until we be all one in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of Aloha, and one man perfect in the measure of the stature of his completeness;
until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Messiah,
14 and that we be no children, agitated and altered by every wind of fraudulent doctrines of men, which in their craftiness they fabricate deceptively in order to seduce,
that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;
15 but be confirmed in our love, that whatever is ours may increase in the Meshiha,
but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Messiah,
16 who is the head, by whom the whole body is increased and compacted in all the limbs, according to the gift which is given in proportion to every member for the increase of the body itself, that in love its structure might be completed.
from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.
17 BUT this I say and testify in the Lord, that from henceforth you may not walk as the rest of the Gentiles, who walk in the vanity of their minds,
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,
18 and are darkened in their understandings, and are alienated from the life of Aloha on account of their ignorance, and on account of the blindness of their hearts;
being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts.
19 who are cut off from their hope, and have delivered themselves up to lasciviousness and to the working of all uncleanness in their greediness.
They, having become callous, gave themselves up to lust, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But you have not thus learned the Meshiha,
But you didn’t learn Messiah that way,
21 if really you have heard him and learned as the truth is in Jeshu;
if indeed you heard him and were taught in him, even as truth is in Yeshua:
22 but that you put from you your former habitudes, the old man who is corrupt in deceitful lusts,
that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit,
23 and be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 and wear the new man, who by Aloha is created in righteousness and in the sanctity of truth.
and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.
25 WHEREFORE let lying cease from you, and speak the truth every man with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.
26 Be angry and sin not, and let not the sun set upon your wrath,
“Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath,
27 and give no place to the accuser.
and don’t give place to the devil.
28 And let him who hath stolen henceforth steal not, but labour with his hands and do good, that he may have to give to him who needeth.
Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need.
29 Let no hateful word come out of your mouth, but that which is comely and useful for edification, that it may communicate grace to those who hear.
Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.
30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of Aloha, by whom you have been sealed unto the day of redemption.
Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and heat, and anger, and clamour, and scandal be taken from you, with all malice;
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice.
32 and be gentle one with another, and affectionate, and forgive one another, even as Aloha in the Meshiha hath forgiven us.
And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Messiah forgave you.
