1 Timothy 1
1 PAULOS, an apostle of Jeshu Meshiha, by the commandment of Aloha our Saviour, and of Jeshu Meshiha our hope;
Paulo, Mtume wa Kristo Yesu, kulingana na amri ya Mungu na Mwokozi wetu Yesu Kristo aliye ujasiri wetu,
2 to Timotheos, my true son in the faith: grace and mercy and peace from Aloha our Father and Jeshu Meshiha our Lord.
kwa Timotheo mwanangu wa kweli katika imani: Neema, rehema na amani zitokazo kwa Mungu Baba na Kristo Yesu Bwana wetu.
3 I requested of thee, when I would go into Makedunia, to remain at Ephesos, and instruct certain men that they teach not various doctrines,
Kama nilivyokusihi nilipoondoka kwenda Makedonia, ubaki Efeso ili kwamba uweze kuwaamru watu fulani wasifundishe mafundisho tofauti.
4 nor throw themselves (away) upon stories and tales of generations which have no end, (but) which rather subserve contentions, and not edification in the faith of Aloha.
Pia wasisikilize hadithi na orodha za nasaba zisizo na mwisho. Haya husababisha mabishano zaidi kuliko kuwasaidia kuendeleza mpango wa Mungu wa imani.
5 But the end of the commandment is love, from a pure heart, and from a good conscience, and from genuine faith.
Basi lengo la agizo hili ni upendo utokao katika moyo safi, katika dhamiri nzuri na katika imani ya kweli.
6 And from them that have erred, and have declined to vain words,
Baadhi ya watu wamelikosa lengo wakayaacha mafundisho haya na kugeukia mazungumzo ya kipumbavu.
7 seeking to become teachers of the law, while they understand not what they speak, nor that concerning which they contend.
Wanataka kuwa waalimu wa sheria, lakini hawafahamu wanachosema au wanachosisitiza.
8 But we know that the law is good, if a man according to the law converse in it;
lakini tunajua kwamba sheria ni njema kama mtu ataitumia kwa usahihi.
9 knowing that against the righteous the law is not set, but against the evil, and rebels, and the wicked, and sinners, and the dishonest, and those who are not pure, and those who strike their fathers, and those who strike their mothers, and murderers,
Tunajua kuwa, sheria haikutungwa kwa ajili ya mtu mwenye haki, bali kwa ajili ya wavunja sheria na waasi, watu wasio wataua na wenye dhambi, na ambao hawana Mungu na waovu. Imetungwa kwa ajili ya wauao baba na mama zao, kwa ajili ya wauaji,
10 and fornicators, and liers with men, and stealers of the free, and liars, and doers against an oath
kwa ajili ya waasherati, kwa ajili ya watu wazinzi, kwa ajili ya wale wanaoteka watu na kuwafanya watumwa, kwa ajili ya waongo, kwa ajili ya mashahidi wa uongo, na yeyote aliye kinyume na maelekezo ya uaminifu.
11 and whatever (else) is opposed to the healthful doctrine of the gospel of the glory of the blessed Aloha, with which I have been intrusted.
Malekezo haya yanatokana na injili yenye utukufu ya Mungu mwenye kubarakiwa ambayo kwayo nimeaminiwa.
12 And I thank him who hath empowered me, our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, who accounted me faithful, and constituted me his minister; me,
Ninamshukuru Yesu Kristo Bwana wetu. Alinitia nguvu, kwa kuwa alinihesabu mimi kuwa mwaminifu, na akaniweka katika huduma.
13 who before was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious; but I received mercy, because while ignorant I did it, without faith.
Nilikuwa mtu wa kukufuru, mtesaji na mtu wa vurugu. Lakini nilipata rehema kwa sababu nilitenda kwa ujinga kwa kutoamini.
14 But in me hath abounded the grace of our Lord, and faith and love which are in Jeshu Meshiha.
Lakini neema ya Mungu wetu imejaa imani na upendo ulio katika Kristo Yesu.
15 Faithful is the word, and worthy of reception that Jeshu the Meshiha came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first.
Ujumbe huu ni wa kuaminika na unastahili kupokelewa na wote, ya kuwa Kristo Yesu alikuja duniani kuokoa wenye dhambi. Mimi ni mbaya zaidi ya wote.
16 But for this he had compassion upon me, that in me first Jeshu Meshiha might show all long-suffering, as an exhibition for them who should believe in him unto everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
Lakini kwa sababu hii mimi nilipewa rehema ili kwamba ndani yangu mimi, awali ya yote, Kristo Yesu adhihirishe uvumilivu wote. Alifanya hivyo kama kielelezo kwa wote watakaomtumaini Yeye kwa ajili ya uzima wa milele. (aiōnios g166)
17 But to the King who is eternal, incorruptible, and unseen, who is one Aloha, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Na sasa kwa Mfalme asiye na ukomo, asiyekufa, asiyeonekana, Mungu pekee, iwe heshima na utukufu milele na milele. Amina. (aiōn g165)
18 This commandment I commit to thee, my son Timotheos, according to the early prophecies which were concerning thee, that thou mayest war through them this good warfare with faith and with a good conscience.
Ninaliweka agizo hili mbele yako Timotheo, mtoto wangu. Nafanya hivi kulingana na unabii uliotolewa hapo kwanza kukuhusu wewe, ili kwamba uhusike katika vita njema.
19 For those who this have put away from them of faith have been emptied;
Fanya hivyo ili kwamba uwe na imani na dhamiri njema. Baadhi ya watu wameyakataa haya wakaangamiza imani.
20 as Hymeneos and Alexandros, whom I have delivered to Satana, that they may not blaspheme.
Kama vile Himeneyo na Alekizanda ambao nimempa shetani ili wafundishwe wasikufuru.
