আমি শারোণের গোলাপ, উপত্যকায় ফুটে থাকা লিলি।

তরুণীদের মধ্যে আমার প্রেমিকা ঠিক যেন কাঁটাগাছের মধ্যে ফুটে থাকা লিলি ফুল।

তরুণদের মধ্যে আমার প্রেমিক ঠিক যেন অরণ্যের বৃক্ষরাজির মধ্যে একটি আপেল গাছ। তাঁর ছায়ায় বসলে আমার আনন্দ হয়, তাঁর ফলের স্বাদ আমার মুখে মিষ্টি লাগে।

জেরুশালেমের কন্যারা, মাঠের গজলা হরিণীদের এবং হরিণশাবকদের দিব্যি দিয়ে আমি তোমাদের বলছি, যতক্ষণ না বাসনা জেগে উঠছে, ততক্ষণ প্রেমকে জাগিও না বা তাকে উত্তেজিত কোরো না।
