Proverbs 20
1 to mock [the] wine to roar strong drink and all to wander in/on/with him not be wise
| לֵץ הַיַּיִן הֹמֶה שֵׁכָר וְכׇל־שֹׁגֶה בּוֹ לֹא יֶחְכָּֽם׃ |
2 roaring like/as lion terror king be angry him to sin soul: life his
| נַהַם כַּכְּפִיר אֵימַת מֶלֶךְ מִתְעַבְּרוֹ חוֹטֵא נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ |
3 glory to/for man cessation from strife and all fool(ish) to quarrel
| כָּבוֹד לָאִישׁ שֶׁבֶת מֵרִיב וְכׇל־אֱוִיל יִתְגַּלָּֽע׃ |
4 from autumn sluggish not to plow/plot (and to ask *Q(K)*) in/on/with harvest and nothing
| מֵחֹרֶף עָצֵל לֹא־יַחֲרֹשׁ (ישאל) [וְשָׁאַל] בַּקָּצִיר וָאָֽיִן׃ |
5 water deep counsel in/on/with heart man and man understanding to draw (up/out) her
| מַיִם עֲמֻקִּים עֵצָה בְלֶב־אִישׁ וְאִישׁ תְּבוּנָה יִדְלֶֽנָּה׃ |
6 abundance man to call: call out man: anyone kindness his and man faithful who? to find
| רׇב־אָדָם יִקְרָא אִישׁ חַסְדּוֹ וְאִישׁ אֱמוּנִים מִי יִמְצָֽא׃ |
7 to go: walk in/on/with integrity his righteous blessed son: child his after him
| מִתְהַלֵּךְ בְּתֻמּוֹ צַדִּיק אַשְׁרֵי בָנָיו אַחֲרָֽיו׃ |
8 king to dwell upon throne judgment to scatter in/on/with eye his all bad: evil
| מֶלֶךְ יוֹשֵׁב עַל־כִּסֵּא־דִין מְזָרֶה בְעֵינָיו כׇּל־רָֽע׃ |
9 who? to say to clean heart my be pure from sin my
| מִֽי־יֹאמַר זִכִּיתִי לִבִּי טָהַרְתִּי מֵחַטָּאתִֽי׃ |
10 stone: weight and stone: weight ephah and ephah abomination LORD also two their
| אֶבֶן וָאֶבֶן אֵיפָה וְאֵיפָה תּוֹעֲבַת יְהֹוָה גַּם־שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ |
11 also in/on/with deed his to recognize youth if pure and if upright work his
| גַּם בְּמַעֲלָלָיו יִתְנַכֶּר־נָעַר אִם־זַךְ וְאִם־יָשָׁר פׇּעֳלֽוֹ׃ |
12 ear to hear: hear and eye to see: see LORD to make also two their
| אֹזֶן שֹׁמַעַת וְעַיִן רֹאָה יְהֹוָה עָשָׂה גַם־שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ |
13 not to love: lover sleep lest to possess: poor to open eye your to satisfy food: bread
| אַל־תֶּאֱהַב שֵׁנָה פֶּן־תִּוָּרֵשׁ פְּקַח עֵינֶיךָ שְֽׂבַֽע־לָֽחֶם׃ |
14 bad: harmful bad: harmful to say [the] to buy and be gone to/for him then to boast: boast
| רַע רַע יֹאמַר הַקּוֹנֶה וְאֹזֵל לוֹ אָז יִתְהַלָּֽל׃ |
15 there gold and abundance jewel and article/utensil preciousness lips knowledge
| יֵשׁ זָהָב וְרׇב־פְּנִינִים וּכְלִי יְקָר שִׂפְתֵי־דָֽעַת׃ |
16 to take: take garment his for to pledge be a stranger and about/through/for (foreign *Q(K)*) to pledge him
| לְֽקַח־בִּגְדוֹ כִּי־עָרַב זָר וּבְעַד (נכרים) [נׇכְרִיָּה] חַבְלֵֽהוּ׃ |
17 sweet to/for man food: bread deception and after to fill lip his gravel
| עָרֵב לָאִישׁ לֶחֶם שָׁקֶר וְאַחַר יִמָּֽלֵא־פִיהוּ חָצָֽץ׃ |
18 plot in/on/with counsel to establish: establish and in/on/with counsel to make battle
| מַחֲשָׁבוֹת בְּעֵצָה תִכּוֹן וּבְתַחְבֻּלוֹת עֲשֵׂה מִלְחָמָֽה׃ |
19 to reveal: reveal counsel to go: went slander and to/for to open wide lip: words his not to pledge
| גּֽוֹלֶה־סּוֹד הוֹלֵךְ רָכִיל וּלְפֹתֶה שְׂפָתָיו לֹא תִתְעָרָֽב׃ |
20 to lighten father his and mother his to put out lamp his (in/on/with pupil *Q(K)*) darkness
| מְקַלֵּל אָבִיו וְאִמּוֹ יִֽדְעַךְ נֵרוֹ (באישון) [בֶּאֱשׁוּן] חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ |
21 inheritance (to dismay *Q(K)*) in/on/with first and end her not to bless
| נַחֲלָה (מבחלת) [מְבֹהֶלֶת] בָּרִאשׁוֹנָה וְאַחֲרִיתָהּ לֹא תְבֹרָֽךְ׃ |
22 not to say to complete bad: evil to await to/for LORD and to save to/for you
| אַל־תֹּאמַר אֲשַׁלְּמָה־רָע קַוֵּה לַיהֹוָה וְיֹשַֽׁע לָֽךְ׃ |
23 abomination LORD stone: weight and stone: weight and balance deceit not pleasant
| תּוֹעֲבַת יְהֹוָה אֶבֶן וָאָבֶן וּמֹאזְנֵי מִרְמָה לֹא־טֽוֹב׃ |
24 from LORD step great man and man what? to understand way: conduct his
| מֵיְהֹוָה מִצְעֲדֵי־גָבֶר וְאָדָם מַה־יָּבִין דַּרְכּֽוֹ׃ |
25 snare man to blurt holiness and after vow to/for to enquire
| מוֹקֵשׁ אָדָם יָלַע קֹדֶשׁ וְאַחַר נְדָרִים לְבַקֵּֽר׃ |
26 to scatter wicked king wise and to return: return upon them wheel
| מְזָרֶה רְשָׁעִים מֶלֶךְ חָכָם וַיָּשֶׁב עֲלֵיהֶם אוֹפָֽן׃ |
27 lamp LORD breath man to search all chamber belly: abdomen
| נֵר יְהֹוָה נִשְׁמַת אָדָם חֹפֵשׂ כׇּל־חַדְרֵי־בָֽטֶן׃ |
28 kindness and truth: faithful to watch king and to support in/on/with kindness throne his
| חֶסֶד וֶֽאֱמֶת יִצְּרוּ־מֶלֶךְ וְסָעַד בַּחֶסֶד כִּסְאֽוֹ׃ |
29 beauty youth strength their and glory old greyheaded
| תִּפְאֶרֶת בַּחוּרִים כֹּחָם וַהֲדַר זְקֵנִים שֵׂיבָֽה׃ |
30 wound wound (cosmetic *Q(K)*) in/on/with bad: evil and wound chamber belly: abdomen
| חַבֻּרוֹת פֶּצַע (תמריק) [תַּמְרוּק] בְּרָע וּמַכּוֹת חַדְרֵי־בָֽטֶן׃ |
